An idea that came to mind while watching the video, a faster way to freeze the pool is adding salt. Colligative properties say that if you add any solute the solvent will change his freezing point. So you did not need that amount of ice. Finally thanks for the amazing video. :)

That was my thought during the entire video; I'm surprised he never mentioned it. There have been deaths from people dumping a lot of liquid nitrogen into swimming pools - even outdoor pools. It needs to be managed and monitored very carefully, because the body doesn't instinctively notice.

Project Suggestion: could you try making the prowlers' gauntlet and/or his suit? The gloves are basically like regular gloves with metal claws that have tasers in the middle, along with "throwable tasers" like the black widow bites. And maybe even the boots with some kind of pneumatic pressure system that's kind of similar to the Mario Shoes video, along with electro magnets to stick to metal, since antigravity doesn't exist.. yet! Edit 2: I've also noticed his mask/helmet has thermal vision, night vision, and possible motion tracking, so that would be awesome too! Also, amazing video! I didn't think that was possible to do.

I feel like you need to move faster across the top of the water while it stays frozen for a short period of time. It’s like when you watch spiders or geckos run across the water because they’re not breaking the water tension. I think the hardest part of any of these creations is we need smaller packs, higher pressure, and some sort of way to freeze way faster. Almost like if you could freeze from your shoes as well as from your arms. the Lexus Hoverboard concept in shoes would make you lighter on the surface of dry ice.

Thanks for the fun and interesting engineering video! I have some thoughts about this to share which might help for future projects. A recommended guideline for the ice thickness able to support walking is 20 cm / 12 inches. I guess it is a matter of balancing 2 unknowns (power? energy change per unit of time) A and B. A is the amount of energy loss required to freeze the ice to form an ice platform thick enough to support the weight of a human during the time it takes to walk 2 steps. B is the energy change of to the ice melting per unit time due to factors like the environment. From A, we can then estimate the amount of liquid nitrogen (coolant) supply. I would add some additional buffer just to over estimate. Other supplementary factors might help. To reduce the weight carried, a longer tube can be used while the tank can be placed seperately on the ground. Maybe using shoes with a larger surface area might help. I think having additional outlets shooting the liquid nitrogen mix embedded below the shoes might help to freeze the ice faster to form an ice platform that can support the weight. Really like the way you show how your team works through the problem solving process.
