My mom always grew tomatoes in her garden, so we had sliced tomatoes at about every meal. I’m still blessed that she grows and cans them, and then shares them with me. I’m a teacher, so when my tomatoes come ripe, I’m always super busy starting my school year. She’s an angel for sharing with me. We use them all winter long for soups, chili, and many other delicious things. ~Dana

I always serve Shepherd' s pie with a jug of Bisto gravy 😀 It's a lifelong favourite meal which I make very often. I know it's really 'Cottage' pie but we've always called it 'Shepherd's'' pie. Lamb is expensive and not as readily available as minced beef. It's traditionally a Monday meal, made with the left over meat from a Sunday roast dinner. Lovely meals, inspiring as always. Rose (UK)

Great video - it's funny to see how things are different but with the same name in different countries. At the start of the pandemic, I decided to make homemade fast food every Sunday night for dinner. First one was Crunchwrap. They were excellent. I couldn’t get tostadas at the market so I used Doritos and they worked well. Btw I finally found tostadas at Aldi for super cheap. I’ve been making salads with up to 10 veggies since 1989. I once got a standing ovation at my dinner table from a friend when I served her and her husband a salad like that. They are more fun and interesting then just lettuce, cukes and tomatoes. I did the same thing with ginger. Keep it in the freezer and never peel it. Works so well for microplane use. My sun actually liked Aldi’s Mac better then Kraft. He says you get more in the box. It’s way cheaper too. When they put it on sale at 33 cents a box we buy up two cases.

Yes.. you are correct! Cottage Pie refers to Meat pie; typically ground beef. Shepherds Pie is made w/ Lamb! ( yuck!) I put down more cheese over the meat mixture... then the mashed potatoes! Yum!! Love using frozen veggies. They tend to be cooked just right ( al dente) Vs mushy. I cheat & grate(lg) my carrot in the food processor. RE: salmón... I made a chowder to die for (after I picked out all the bones in the salmon can! My Dad laughed at me.. but I told him you laugh.. you get no Chowder! He freaked how good it was. I got the re IPS from MY FIRST COOKBOOK ! Was the bomb if I do say so myself!! I recall we couldn’t say Brother... so we called my brother “BoBo” so my Dad has a friend also named BoBo so there was a Big BoBo and Kittle BoBo( my Brother). His wife loved kids.... she made us pugs in a blanket. We were little... we thought it was Real pigs! Dummies!! Man we inhaled those puppies! I recall her calmly making another sheet pan of them.. yum!! Those were always my Bobo’s favorite treat! He asked me to learn to make them( me being older and being allowed in the kitchen!!) PS: I was told that. Chick Fil-A marinates the chicken in pickle juice!! I dint know.. my Sister that really doesn’t cook said that... also claimed the pineapple carrot/ raisin salad ga “tons” of mayo. I think she over exaggerated.. she became a Cardiologist... so EVERYTHING has too much butter ... oil.... mayo.... etc! She eats granola & salad! No wonder she has stomach issues!! ( I think she’s Gluten sensitive). Any who.... I dint make mine w/ mayo! Enjoyed watching you cook. Maybe Santa will get me an air fryer??? Ha ha ! 🎄
