And this my friend, Mr Biz Matik, is why live music is so much better than just listening to a studio produced record. You get to share the experience and sing along with thousands of folks who are there for the same reason to share a great experience. When a favourite is played, it's transcendent!

Better for those of us who know the song, sure. But better for a first time listener? Disagree.

To be fair, as much as I Love live music as a musician myself, that moment wouldn't be possible without the studio recording.. BOTH are equally valuable ❤jus sayin..

What an interesting reaction, thank you for sharing. As far as I remember, this song was written about his mother and stepfather... you were spot on!

🤗OMG!I First of all, thank you so much Biz!!🥰It's been a while since I sent you this link and I'm so very grateful you finally got to it! Again... thank you!!I That being said, I just want to clarify that I asked you to have the lyrics because when the crowd takes over a few seconds in... I knew you'd need them! lol!!😜 Wasn't that amazing though?? Whether the song touched you or not... I knew the crowd interaction would be the thing that got you!! That's the power of music, we all have our stories! They may differ in details, but in context... they are the same💯 Quickly,, those opening lyrics are important to the context/inspiration of this song (inspired by lead singer Eddie Vedder's childhood/watching his mother's struggles in an abusive relationship with a man he thought was his father). It's a timeless story. Importance of this song... know your worth. We all have a place here and are deserving of so much more than we were lead/treated to believe. Now on the lighter side sort of... the musicianship of PJ is on a whole other level. Almost 30 yrs later Eddie is still killing it LIVE! NO AUTOTUNE or other trickery. This is as raw and real as it gets! For me, they are the Led Zeppelin of the 90's!! Between the instrumental shit they created and the lyrics and vocals of Eddie Vedder, they are.... GOD status in my book!!👊 PJ took it to another level and stayed true to who they are and their purpose. The only notable difference, you will NEVER find a song about T&A with PJ but... you will find some crazy-ass performances!!!😜 I know you've seen Eddie's stage dive/climb in the "Even Flow" video but dear lord... check out "PORCH" at Pink Pop. You will get a better understanding of the whole early 90's Grunge scene (HAVE the freaking SHLYRICS HANDY!😉). It was beautiful, as real as it gets (and crazy af! lol!!). Good times with a purpose!👊👊👊 You felt it. Thank you for this one.. Love ya and you rock Biz!😎❤❤❤

I went to one of their shows in the mid 90’s, and they had the most energetic crowd I’ve EVER seen. So, so amazing.

Oh man, P.J.'s fireworks are on stage and the whole crowd is all over the hall, hats off to the coolest fans ever. What a great feeling it must be when the whole hall continues to sing your lyrics after two or three words and doesn't stop - what a great feeling that must be for the band in a hall like the M.S.G. ! All the best @all from hamburg (germany)

"Despite the lack of a commercial single release, 'Better Man' reached the top of the Billboard Album Rock Tracks chart and spent a total of eight weeks at number one [in 1994]." (Wikipedia) MSG NY 5/21/2010 -- The song was 16 years old by the time of that performance and thousands of people in the audience knew the lyrics by heart. Powerful! Gonna be thirty years next year. Great road trip music for certain. For the flip side with a similar vibe, check out the studio version of "Daughter". A few years before this performance they performed covers of "Love Reign O'er Me" and "The Real Me" at a show honoring The Who. Eddie Vedder isn't Roger Daltrey, but Pearl Jamming The Who? Fire! Check it out too.

YES!! "DAUGHTER" is a must for sure!!!💯💯💯Studio version is obviously great, it's how we came to love the song!!! HOWEVER... the Live in Seattle 2018 performance is mind-blowing!!! It's powerful as hell and the crowd interaction is incredibly moving!! 25yrs after the songs release... the guys are still rocking it with all the same heart and soul!! It's beautiful!!🥰

A friend played the first Pearl Jam album for me in the late 90s (I was behind the curve). The album, named Ten, blew me away. They sound like a 70s throw back rock band to me. And they would have been one of the better 70s rock bands for that matter. I like this channel best among reaction channels. I like your choice of music, which includes lots of edgy songs that you don't see a lot.

🤯Oh my goodness.... I just commented how for me, Pearl Jam was the Led Zepp of the 90's. I wasn't even born when Zep released their 1st album, but they were the soundtrack of my life. Even as a young child, Zeppelin tickled me to ne end. 20yrs later, when I first heard Pearl Jam "91... same chills.

Pearl Jam is the bomb! So many great songs, and the lyrics are all fantastic. My favorite is Rearview Mirror. Besides their songs, their rendition of The WHO’s Love Reign O’er Me is sooooo good.

If you love this version, check out the live version from State College 2003. There isn’t video of it, but the audio is incredible. I’ve heard hundreds of versions of Betterman and the State College one is the one that in my opinion is their best. In that version they blend in the entirety of Save it for Later, not just the chorus and it’s epic.

This song always makes me sad. So many women would rather be with a man for the wrong reasons instead of being alone for the right reasons. Grow a spine ladies, be your own person, be true to yourself.
