tyre slip sound is to aid the player to know whats happening with the car, it fills in for the lack of feel you would get driving a real car. kudos to ac, waiting patiently for my copy 👍

The skid sound by default on assetto corsa is hilariously unrealistic lol! In my assetto corsa I almost muted the tire skid sound. I also used a more realistic PP Filter (mod) for better and a more natural color image.

Assetto Corsa really could benefit from more contrast, and richer black tones, the colors are too simple and it's the same green on every tree. The trees in real life have more of a yellow tone mixed heavily in there, and the dark colors like the shaded areas are more rich. In AC everything is washed out and hazy, with the brightness too high and the colors lacking diversity. The buttons/switches on that panel look so fake in the game, where's all the shadows? The red plastic covers on the switches never have lighting or shading effects on them, they're always the same bright N64 looking red. Did you have your graphics settings maxed out? It's a shame the dark overall shadow of the real life cockpit isn't there for a good comparison. Not saying it looks bad, but these sort of comparison videos are really helpful when it comes to tuning a post processing filter. The PP filters can help a bit, like the Dynamic one, or downloading a custom one.

Derek Moore For serious simulators. If you compare to rfactor, rfactor 2, and others, it's like a dream upgrade though. For years I have been driving shitty rfactor graphics (best physics, tire model, etc.) and when go to the track it does not translate because all of a sudden the mind is overwhelmed by real circuit's view, plus the g force of course. Our there, there is not really a good training tool with nice graphics, physics tire model that feels really close to real cars or race cars. And I run AC with 2 gtx970 the frame rate is 180fps. With high hz monitor the steering wheel is immediate almost not detectable delay, which is one of the most important thing in sim. The only thing I hope though. Is that AC team will develop more Asian race tracks. Fuji, The big 6 in Japan. Shanghai GP, Sepang in Malaysia, through in Zhuhai. The conversions from modders have nice graphics but they drove just like games.

+Derek Moore (SMOKE) Totally agree, and its one of the things i hate most (aside the mushy sound) is the lack of depth like tree shadows. Like 6:40. Regardless of daytime, teh right side is clearly in teh shadow, yet totally lit up. You'll never see real deep shadowed tree columns, which would do a lot for the narrow feel on the NS IRL.

if the grass textures in the background on the sim just looked a bit dirty and had a mixture of mud colour in there rather then one solid green colour it would add some more realism.

For serious consumer grade simulators. If you compare to rfactor, rfactor 2, and others, it's like a dream upgrade. iracing is not even there, too expensive, lousy physics tire models, too heavy on system when cranked to ultra, FFB is slow. That one is for game racers. If a race car driver plays it too much it ruins his real life performance. For years I have been driving rFactor and live with its shitty DX9 graphics. I had high hopes for rfactor 2 but then it became such a big disappointment. rFactor has quite good physics, tire model, big modding community, etc. However the home version and professional simulator which built on it (7 meter curve screen 3 projectors), feels night and day. Even with hours in the professional grade simulator, when go to the track it does not translate immediately because all of a sudden the mind is overwhelmed by real circuit's view, plus the g force of course. The first 20-30 laps is a re learning process, and with real race car it is very expensive to run that many laps. At the end it merely is a tool for keeping motor response in shape for the high speed action racing requires, with real shifter kart to keep reaction time and physical condition in shape, and of course bicycle and weight training. Our there, there is not really a good training tool with NICE graphics yet light on system, with good physics, tire model, and overall driving feel, that feels really close to real cars or race cars except AC at the moment. Graphically it's getting very close now. Apart from the terrible static legs. Engine audio is way off though and sounds too grungy. I would like to see some in-car camera vibration which adds to the experience.

Road mapping needs improvement to match real life more. Sounds need to be recorded from the actual car. In-Game recordings sounds like its being recorded in a box or a closed area like a hangar or from a Dyno. Great sounds and graphics for both but real life takes it this time! Just my thoughts, Might be completely off tho.

Asseto Corsa, the windscreen glass is too fogged, and there are no imperfections in it. Scratches, bug splatter... Sounds. Irl this car sounds more like a motor and screaming gears than actual engine, and the actual engine is really quiet. In Asseto, the engine thunders in your ears.

I do not agree. I've played many hours Assetto Corsa and it feels like all the cars are skidding on every corner and most of the time cars understeer. The same cars in real life have much more grip and there is no skidding sound from the tyres unless you go much too quickly.

What I'd like to know is, why haven't they made a definitive edition of Gran Turismo 6 for PS4 yet? Just about every other PS3 game released in 2013 has either gotten one or is going to get one. If we are going to wait a few more years before they finally release 7, wouldn't it make sense to have it playable on a current gen console that has way too few options for decent racing games?
