I'm certain he'll get a proper title reign later on, it was just now or never for Priest to cash in, they weren't gonna made him cash on Cody, they make a big deal about Cody finishing his story and the bloodline storyline, it would have just make the fan angry for Cody to finish his story, only to have someone totally stranger to the bloodline storyline up to that to takes his spot, meanwhile there was already heat between Priest and Drew before so from a booking perspective it makes more sense for Priest to cash in on Drew and they can easily book a feud between the 2 right away.

Making Drew lose a third time, against an in-story not 100% Seth I might add, is what would have make Drew like a joke and it would have certainly buried him for good. I don't know what to say if you didn't get the story here, the story was that leading to wrestlemania Drew have constantly being calling out Seth Rollins for not focusing on him, his challenger, and instead focus on the bloodline, and when Drew finally won, he did the exact same mistake, instead of focusing on being the champion (he knew Priest has the Money in the bank and could come at any moment), he went on try to troll CM Punk again, and this cost him the title as Punk took him by surprise and hit him allowing Priest to cash in. This still make Drew relevant as he was able to defeat Seth, CM Punk caught him off guard and Priest didn't beat him directly and basically just finish him off, so Drew wasn't beat clean here, it makes it easy to set up a feud for him and Priest on the weeks to come (Rollins is pretty bad health so he might take a break now, and Cody being Universal Champion, Drew is the most obvious challenger for Priest at the moment), and add another reason for Drew to hate CM Punk setting up for the obvious feud they're going to have when CM Punk returns.

You forgot the biggest reason. It sets up a match with Priest, or whoever is holding the title at Clash at the Castle. Allowing Drew to capture the title at home! This match adds impact to any card due to its location. This is needed as Scotland is one of the smallest nations a major WWE event has been held. With a population just South of 5.5 million, it will require a major story line like Drew in the main event to get its numbers high. Just my opinion though!!

When you mentioned a possible face turn for Damien Priest, it brought up a thought in my mind that has been brewing for a bit. The Judgment Day has run their course. Damien Priest has that star potential and has always been the more responsible and discipline minded of the group so he could transition as a face seamlessly with no issue if the opportunity were to rise but it has to be organic, slowly brewed and not rushed so that there is that methodic point from him being a semi-heel to a Anti-Hero face similar to the aura of Stone Cold. Rhea Ripley is without a doubt, one of the most popular of not the most popular woman in the women's division by a country mile, though Becky is pretty close but I digress. She has definitely outgrown the need of the faction and has won many of her matches without the need of Judgment Day interference so she has to cut that umbilical cord and branch out from the group and solidify herself as the titan of the Women's division. Her dynamic with Dominic Mysterio, I'm undecided on the future of that. Speaking of which, Dominic Mysterio fits in with Legado Del Fantasma way better than he does with the Judgment Day. In the group he's in he seems like a kid trying to fit in with a group of adults while with LDF, he's already regarded as family with a legitimate leader in Santos Escobar and him and Dominic share a mutual hatred for Rey Mysterio. I see him growing with that group that is tied in strongly with his Latino roots and could develop him as a more established wrestler. Finn Balor, not sure where his direction would be but if I had to make a guess, he and his guy JD McDonaugh could form a decent tag team and they could be a main rival for the new RAW Tag Team Champs, the Awesome Truth.

I fully expected him to lose it to Damien. Reason being, the WWE is so invested in the Cody storyline, that taking the belt off him immediately made no sense. That only left the WHC. I figured the match would have been more brutal and left a beaten and battered Drew, but the angle with Punk was a good way to send it off. Once Drew started gloating to Punk, I figured something was going to happen that led to Priest cashing in. On top of that, with the injury angle by Seth, it leaves Drew without a program post WM. It only made sense that someone (Priest) step to the plate. I only like this ending because it opens up a new feud and pushes Drew as a much angrier character.

I love that Damien won the belt. He will be a fantastic champion. This will set up Gunther to challenge him. Priest will turn face in order to make this battle work. Its time for him to break out as a mega star on his own. I can see Rhea doing the same by breaking away as well and becoming a face. They are both loved by the fans too much that the heel personas are not really working now, ie: Eddie Guerrero back in '05

I've always felt that the Judgment Day at this juncture might as well split and the members go their separate ways. Damien has mega star potential, Rhea is already a mega star in her own right, Dominic IMO is a better fit for Legado Del Fantasma than he is with Judgment Day and Finn Balor & JD McDonaugh could be a decent tag team, becoming worthy rivals to the current RAW tag champions, the Awesome Truth.

I agree with most of these. I think Seth did immeasurable things to elevate this title but it was time to move it to the next person. Drew got his flowers in front of an audience and how this played out advances the story. Punk still can't wrestle, but this keeps Punk in the title scene. Priest gets a run with the title, even though I don't think it will be long. Priest will probably lose it back to Drew at Clash at the Castle, which takes place in Scotland. After that, it will be Drew v Punk, who will finally be healed up and ready for in ring action.

I think judgement day falls apart soon. I think Dom is going to Legado, Finn and Damien just lost the tag titles, and Rhea and Damien basically have fans screaming for them to turn face. All the pieces are there for Judgement Day to spilt up and have everyone go their separate ways. The only member who would be hurt by it is Jd McDonagh, everyone else can pull their own weight and places to go. My prediction is that Finn gets jealous of Damien and turns on him (Jd goes with Finn), Damien goes face and Finn is his first world title defense. At the same time Dom goes to Legado and maybe even "cheats" on Rhea or something like that causing the rift there. Rhea goes face, Damien goes face, Finn, Jd, and Dom stay heel. I'm probably gonna be wrong, but it seems plausible and makes sense.

Yeah I'm pretty disappointed in Drew's abrupt title run/ending. I've been rooting for this guy for a minute now and while I predicted he would beat Seth I had no idea what lie in store just 6 minutes later. Of course I am a student of the game and of storytelling and I realize that where once WWE was sorely lacking in a substantial enough number of overall performers to balance out a good heel to face ratio in singles, tags or even faction set ups I can understand the direction they're going in. Punk just got back but was suddenly injured - not so dis similar to what happened to Cody Rhodes at the start of his story - that torn pec thing - and still without another wrestler of the same caliber to slide in that spot WWE has to wait until Punk's ready to go again and as we saw that time is just about upon us. He takes the brace off his arm and uses it to hit Drew in the face with it it? Yeah he's pretty much ready to go. But I will hereby demand that Drew get another decent title run at least by the late quarter of this year. That is all.
