I think the premise of this movie was genius, because when you see most of the opponents they're often implied to just be "bot makers" and not actual fighters, or people who know fighting, or boxing in this case. If that Mashida guy had some boxer give advice on what skills Zeus should have, like countering ability, footwork, or stances, then he'd probably get an overwhelming win in the fight against Charlie and Atom, imagine, in the middle of the final match, Zeus switching from orthodox to southpaw, or taking a more outfighter style approach, making use of his larger reach. You can also see here with Twin Cities, little to no use of a guard, poor footwork; not even assuming a proper stance, only throwing these large hooks, like at least mix it up, your opponent has a small reach, take advantage of your larger reach, and throw some jabs, look for an opportunity to counter, there's no rush because you're definitely ahead in terms of points
@MangaSlayer1022 жыл бұрын
No doubt I mean because all mashida had was a machine that can analyze overall techniques doesn’t have the instinct of a real fighter plus just overwhelming strength that takes immense power to supply so hold out long enough then Zeus is done for
@happydapper8395 Жыл бұрын
I disagree, because Zeus was supposed to represent how robotic the sport is, Atom is by far the most human robot in the movie, Zues quite litterally had piston arms so any wild human complicated moves couldve been impossible, like teaching a fish how to walk

I never really understood why he has 2 heads, if they really intended to build a robot with maximum area awareness then they could have build a bot with eyes all over its head. With this design it's all over the place for example when both of the heads spin uncontrollably due to confusion. Twin cities design only enlarged the place that boxers don't won't to get hit, the head and two of them, but I don't know, cool factor maybe?
@yourpalbryan1442 Жыл бұрын
I imagine the processing power needed to power 2 heads worth of situational awareness and all the technology that powers the cityscape esque body lights and stuff on Twin Cities (get it? It's body has light dots all over like a nighttime cityscape?) Would mean that it has a lot of fragile components in its body and all the money was poured into its programming and component building so its chassis isn't durable. All Charlie needed to do was focus the body and you can see Twin Cities team pulling up what looks like a motherboard chipper probably because all those shots to its body was breaking stuff inside and that's why it got confused when Atom spun around. Normally it should be able to track Atom no problem but because its components were damaged it couldn't handle the processing

Im assuming the heads on all of the bots contain targeting systems. So having two heads gives 360 awareness, like charlie says, he has no blindspots. you can see at 1:09 one head is focused on landing the attack, whilst the other tracks Atom and knows when it needs to defend.

@@benjackson8731 Yeah, that is pretty useful, but basically it's a double-edged sword.
@benjackson8731 Жыл бұрын
@@angelvela9161 I suppose. Guessing more computing power is needed for double the information input, so less for the damage output. TC only seems to do the same attack each time, though it was a short fight. Also the controllers/designers may have played themselves a bit by relying on that strength that they didn't seem to have much defence, physically or programmed
@yourpalbryan1442 Жыл бұрын
@@benjackson8731I mentioned this in a different reply, but I think you got it here. The extra computing power is probably why it seems so fragile, TC has a lot of fragile components probably in its body that powers its 360 degrees of awareness to cover blindspots. Its likely most of the money to build it was put into programming, internal components and blinky lights on its body to look like a nighttime cityscape of its namesake. I love how the other robots in this film looked way more advanced but also lighter and less armored, you can see that atom is way less advanced but he’s built like an industrial robot, not a flashy one but a purely functional one, no unnecessary decorations or ornate armor, just thick metal

Yea. In the full scene, she sits at the bar to watch the fight, grabs her drink and without a word or glance in his direction ignores his weak attempt to chat her up. He keeps looking at her thru the scene with slight annoyance because she's way more into the fight than him.

Fun fact: One head of twin cities control the legs while the other head controls the arms. It’s pretty smart if you think about it. They can look both ways and tell each other what’s coming to them and one will have to make a move while the other guy can’t. This even prevents them from multitasking so that way it’s much easier.

I think best part about this is that it showcases Charlie's (and therefore Atom's) fighting style: Dude is a counter-puncher. He dodges attacks and then interrupts the opponent's flow with a counter.

Ive taken a few boxing classes and my god, if the controllers for Twin cities had any experience in fighting, they wouldve known to keep their hands up. Also, having two heads means the torso is twice as wide which means its a bigger target. What an amazing movie

Love how the guys controlling Twin Cities were acting like pro gamers who ultimately wanted to rage quit once they realized they lost the match.
@KSofficial1414 жыл бұрын
I think I know how Atom won against Twincities, basically 1 head controls 1 half of the body and the other head controls the other half, and 1 head tried to take full control before they lost and then the other tried taking full control and thus atom separated the 2 by ripping them in half and winning

I wrote this movie off for so long, and when I really didn't wanna watch it, my nephew made me, and no joke, the end part where Hugh is doing the fighting in shadow mode, for some reason, it stuck a cord with me and actually made me cry a tear, I felt the love he had for his son, and that moment perfectly encapsulated him fighting for him literally, and it was pretty powerful statement in a light hearted movie like this....
