All my cans are DA, but they will be the last DA cans. It’s not that I think they can’t fix production problems, but due to how they’ve handled everything. Like say SOMETHING. Btw, Pappas swindled his way out of a that interview and I don’t think we will be getting a statement. Hope I’m wrong.

I believe you are 100% correct.. He lied about making a statement so he wouldn’t be put on the spot to answer for their crappy QC in the last little while..
@rwilliamson8210 ай бұрын
Agree, I got mine back and was hoping Pappas would give an actual statement on what happened and what they did to repair them. I will never support them again after this. It’s not even that they blew up it was lack of communication and terrible CS after the fact. And then the big slap in the face was a 20% coupon from the website. The same week they had 20% off everything anyways. They took 7 months to repair a can that had 2 mags through it and then asked me for more money for bullshit tshirts and belt buckles.

Unless someone owns both AEM5 and OCM5, hard to beleive anything they say about either one. I have both and prefer the AEM5. A tiny bit more accurate and less change of POI even though its minimal, its still a tad better. Definitely doesnt get a hot and coola much faster easily. The weight, OCM5 is lighter, but on a SPR setup, I prefer the weigjt for shoot ability. The actual dbs to the shooters ear is the same. Both very good and solid

Great video man. I ordered my first can in Dec 23, an OCM5 and I just took it to the range for the first run. Mounted on an LWRC M6-A3 and it was sooo nice on the suppressed setting of the 4-way gas block, then on my Mock 12 mod-1 and mod 0. Beautiful sound and my ears are not ringing after two hours at the range. The OCM5 is definitely a must have for 5.56 or .223 guns.

My first suppressor was a Hybrid 46 as well only because I own a .45 ACP pistol and just recently picked up a 10 inch Mike45 from FM-Products I filled out a Form 1 for. My second and third suppressor purchases after my Hybrid was approved was a Warlock 22 and an Omega 36m both within a month of each other. I don’t regret buying the Hybrid 46 but I do agree it isn’t the best can out there for pistols. It is however a great all around can that I use on my current AR-15’s and my AR-10 in .308. I am looking into building several rifle’s in the next few years to come budget depending: MK12 with a OCM5 Gary Gordon SBR with a OCM5 MK18 Mod 1 SBR with a Surefire RCM2

Great info. I'm researching before my first can. With what I've found, a .30 is a good choice as it can do 300 bo and 5.56. A benefit with the 5.56 is they tend to be less gassy. So, I think I've narrowed it down to .30, stainless, direct thread. Now I just need to nail down the manufacturer. Thanks for the video bro.

Its business, why would a company tailor their efforts to a less profitable area? Wont last long if they do. Contracts are contracts, money is guaranteed and you have to honor the contract tinelibe. The absolute worst thing in contracting is not delivering on time and having a negative past performance, you wont see another big contract as that stays on your record.

“Best qd on the market” it was all marketing. Keymo is beyond heavy, has failed more times than I can count. Oh and fun fact, deadair originally launched it saying no maintenance needed. Later on they silently dropped a video stating on how to maintain it years later also stating wearable parts, stating that it will lead to baffle strikes. Not to mention it adds alot of length as well. Pretty amazing how well their marketing worked back then.

So DA makes one big mistake and they are crucified even tho they are like the largest civilian distributor of cans? Does that not count for something?

Of course it counts, which is why there are also more retards with DA cans that have blown up their own shit not assembling properly and blaming it on DA than any other manufacturer.

Products are always changing. I first got into NFA stuff back in 2008 -09 era. The stuff that got me hooked were items from the early 2000's right after the AWB was lifted and would be considered dinosaurs by todays standards. QD's will always change and be the "next best thing". My first can was a YHM phantom. In todays standards, it is loud, heavy, and bad option because there is only one QD option. Even once had an AAC 762sdn and if you know about that thing, then you know. I see a lot pf people just trying to keep up with the Jones's, spending money they don't have on products they can't afford because some shill said they needed it. If you're new to cans, getting a good 30 cal can and a tuff 22lr can are the top two to get. A pistol can is pretty underwhelming to me personally. Currently have 7 cans, and my 22lr cans are used 100x more than any of my rifles or pistol cans. I'm going to come out and say it, the flow style cans are going to be a fad. 3 years from now, there are going to be a lot of companies going back to tradition baffles. There will be some companies that stick with flow, but it is because that is what they were built on (kinda like companies still using Nib BCG's).

I think the Hybrid 46 is worth keeping around. Two is 1, 1 is none. The problem is more that getting approved can take too long, otherwise, I'd have a bunch of 9mm, 5.56, and .308 cans lying around. If anything goes down, the Hybrid 46 has me covered.

I’d really recommend getting your FFL/SOT. Also, I’d recommend using the rearden atlas mount with their single port brake on any fan that has the “industry standard” can threading. Like the polonium and the dead air stuff. My polonium FS was quieter than my RC2, and the flash signature without nods is the same to me.
@lumpbiscuit541210 ай бұрын
Are there monthly/yearly payments you have to make to maintain your FFL/SOT status? Also can anyone obtain an SOT? I was under the impression you had to be able to prove it’s related to your work in order to get one. I was always interested but I’m not knowledgeable on it
@wtfmrkratos10 ай бұрын
@@lumpbiscuit5412 yes it costs 500 dollars a year to have an SOT and it’s good from July to June of the next year. For the FFL it’s 150 for 3 years. You need to have either a sole proprietorship (which I recommend over an LLC for a home based business) or LLC. It’s easy to fill out the paperwork. I did it to help supplement my income. I became an 02/07 last September (2022) and it’s been great. I made a similar mistake to you. I went with the dead air wolfman. Thinking it can do it all. It’s not as bad as a 46 cal can it’s still a 36 cal. And something I am really bummed about I didn’t think of until after I had it approved is I can only run short brakes if I want to run it on 556. 1 because I have to have a brake no flash hiders. And 2 they have to be short because the blast baffle is so close to the back threads so 13.7 pinned and welded is not an option for me. I would be able to do a 14.5 pinned and welded. And I may do that. Because I was hoping this would be my 1 and only can. I definitely am on a budget and considered getting something cheap like a yhm turbo and may do that eventually but for now it sucks not being able to build the 13.7 I want.

I’ve had a .22 can for a while but I’m just getting rifle/pistol cans over the past year. There is a lot of BS out there you have to navigate. If I were to do it over again, I don’t think I would have bothered with a pistol can. Attaching a 6” tube on the end of a pistol isn’t that practical, FOR ME. Where it shines is on my 9mm PCC but that’s mostly a fun gun anyways.

I have a question for anyone who reads this including rangedaybro: In 2023 how long did it take you to get your form 4 approved for a suppressor? Please include the following details: -Did you use a trust, single shot trust, or buy as an individual? -Was this the first suppressor you purchased in 2023? -is the approval process any faster if you buy multiple cans in the same year? I know someone who only had a 69 day wait in 2023 for his first suppressor ever and while I think that's unusual I'm curious if anyone else experienced that short of a wait.

My hybrid 46 is awful on anything but 45 acp and 45/70, its terrible on ap5k or g17. I could never own a dead air product, gun store employees get 50% off dead air stuff and I won't buy one for 50% off. I've never been impressed with their performance, my Sig can is/was less expensive and better performance. The sandman S performs terribly and when people shoot them against other better cans its an obvious difference. The K on the scar, RIP your ears. I have an OCM5 and its awesome and I do agree with you, its a go to can. I've got plans for a second one once they come back into distributor stock. The polonium is also solid and will give similar performance to the ocm5. Waiting on a polo K currently for a 14.5. Buying a S5 is a big oof, its hopefully going to put dead air out of business for the wrong they've done to their customers.
