I get your point but I once saw a guy passed out on the ground and called a first responder dispatch, the dispatcher asked me what’s wrong, is he alive, and I said I don’t know he’s not moving I’m scared to touch him, they said we don’t wanna waste an ambulance and put you in trouble for making a false alarm so we’ll send down a beat cop to check it out and he’ll call an ambulance if needed. The cop arrived 10-15 mins later and by then the guy had stood up and walked away because he was, indeed, just black-out drunk. No ambulance call wasted and no trouble for me. I don’t like this policy but it might be that my city has a shortage of medical staff, Idk.

If you need medication for pain never say 10/10 because they will think or know you’re full of shit. The amount of times I’ve seen someone say 10/10 and then they are laughing and playing on their phones after etc. Just be honest 10/10 means that you’re in soo much pain you want them to either put you to sleep or die. 8-9/10 is it’s an incredible amount of pain sedate the shit out of me. 6-7/10 is you’re in pain but youre able to somewhere stand it or relax anything below that is it hurts but only if I move it this way or sit this way etc. If you’re upfront with doctors they will help you in anyway they can.

Pretty much. My mom's face when post surgery I said I had 20/10 on the pain scale was classic - she looked at nurse and said that meant I was literally in agony as my worst crippling migraines never get higher than a 3-4/10. And yes. I was sure I was gonna die of pain post surgery. 😅
@aggrodkreg4321Ай бұрын
The only time I ever had a 10/10 was when I needed a root canal. I worked the night shift in a military clinic. I got out at 6, I came back at 8 with a toothache that made the dentist straight up ask me "do you want Percocet, dear?" I looked like I wanted to take the Forever Nap. At 11, I was back in the clinic getting a root canal. Yes. The pain of the root canal was less than the pain I was feeling during the morning, and I looked forward to it. Don't exaggerate when it comes to the pain scale. 10/10 is "take whatever is causing me this pain out of my body right now."
@dewwwd3431Ай бұрын
@@aggrodkreg4321 exactly for me 10/10 is when I had an infection in my knee post surgery or when I had kidney stones those are the two worst pains I’ve ever had. if somebody's able to say "I'm in ten out of ten pain" they are not in ten out of ten pain.
@dewwwd3431Ай бұрын
@@Liam_Patton that’s basically my point I worked at hospital for years people would claim 10/10 just so they can get dilaudid or morphine and then get mad that the doctor is giving them basically what is Advil but as a shot. When they are laughing with their friends/family watching videos and playing games on their phones. When you could tell it wasn’t that bad. The doctor just goes “ohhh here’s another junkie pretending to be in a bunch of pain to get high” Sure they might be in pain but when people claim that and it doesn’t fit the bill they aren’t going to get what they may need. Instead if they are honest and say it’s 6-7/10 which is still reasonable for pain medication and could still do normal things such as act that way then it makes sense. But junkies come in claiming 10/10 everytime thinking they can just come in and get high. Now it doesn’t mean by saying the above that you will get the good shit. However when being honest you have a much higher chance.
