Anthony, thanks for these tutorials! As a Finale refugee they're really a godsend. Question about this tutorial: When I try to do realtime MIDI input across a grand staff, everything is ending up in the R.H. staff. I make sure that the caret is extending across both staves before recording, yet this is happening. Do you (or anyone else) have any ideas about what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

Is there any function that is similar to Speedy Entry in Finale that I can use in Dorico to quickly enter notes? I use a MIDI keyboard almost exclusively for inputting notes, with note clicking to do small editing. I've watched lots of videos on your site, and I can't find anything that approximates Speedy Entry. I am also very confused with note input when I watch the videos. I think most users need "1 - Do this, 2 - Do this, 3- Do this" so that any user can easily understand what to do.

Have you seen the rest of this series of videos on note input? kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXW6k6SOpa2NoaM This includes midi keyboard entry in a similar way. You don't need to record live.

Hi Anthony, I finished Note Input videos. They were very useful. Thank you so much. Do you have these short tips for other areas of Dorico learning?

Hi Anthony. I use real-time midi keyboard input exclusively. I seem to be getting a playback of the previous material whilst trying to record new material? Does this mean that Dorico can’t erase a performance and that I have to do it manually? Sibelius and Finale had a replace recording button but Dorico doesn’t? Cheers! Andy

I really hope Dorico works with Cubase or Logic etc and Rewire (not incomplete sinks like Sibelius) I think the relocation of musical time through tempo detection of Cubase is somewhat in line as an important element of notation software In that sense, Dorico will also be able to use the time base of Cubase or the smart tempo of Logic in the future I hope the concept will be more solid Before that, if Rewire is installed, it will be possible to use it in connection with Ui as a user of Cubase It can improve the environment

Hi, I'm using the input mode only as a reference, how can I disable all the information like timing, note length, velocity ? I tried to use "reset playback overrides" but I can still hear overlaps notes. Can I say to it : ignore what I recorded and just play that's written ?

Until Dorico has a smart tempo click-free record (like Logic), I'll stick to the DAW. Dorico's mouse editing makes no sense and it doesn't seem to be improving at all after 6 years. This keyboard input philosophy isn't faster. It's actually a LOT slower for quick tasks. It's just faster for bulk edits, which I rarely do.
