Angelina Jordan is a music prodigy specializing in vocals but plays piano, flute, violin and guitar. Angelina is a master of timing, rhythm and negative space. She is blessed with a naturally deep voice with the most beautiful tone I have ever heard. Angelina has always created her own arrangements and has always been in charge during rehearsals with the musicians backing her up. Most impressively in my opinion, her voice connects with the listener and brings more emotion than any other vocalist.

You are standing at the edge of a deep and beautiful rabbit hole with this one. Angelina has done so much incredible work over the last 7 years. She has been producing high level, unique vocals since she was only 7 years old (when she shocked the world with her haunting cover of Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday on Norways got talent). A completely different sound than she has here in Bohemian Rhapsody, and she has many, many other sounds that she has done in the 100+ songs that she has covered since then. As a vocal coach, this is someone that you are going to analyze again and again. The amount of subtle little details she is able to pack into a song can take many, many listens to pick up on. ...and the key word is "subtle".... the way she does it, she can do a ton of stuff and it never sounds over done. She manages to hit this perfect balance that makes it come out so naturally that it's like she is just singing right from her soul. It never sounds like she is _trying_ to do anything... it's like she just feels it and does it. I hope to see you check out more. Next you should do "I Put a Spell on You " (B&W) version. That's a fan favorite :)

You have a new subscriber but BEWARE! This is a long comment. I hope you have the patience to read to the end. Thank you for discovering and reacting my favourite singer. Simon was correct when he said that he had never heard that version, Angelina re-arranged it for the performance. She does this with many of her cover songs. Her fans call it "Angelina-fying" a song. The lady who first stood and clapped at the end of Angelina's performance was her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani. On her right was Angelina's mother, Sara Astar, then Juliette, her sister and then her uncle, Michael Astar who is also her Manager. Heid Klum hit the Golden Buzzer. So Angelina went straight to the Final, where she performed Elton John's classic "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7-year-old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". What did I see? Well, it was a seven-year-old child, with wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were baby teeth. And that was when the normal perception ended and things turned upside down. She confidently answered the questions put to her by a Judge. Declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday. Gestured off-stage for the technician to start the music and then started singing. The body of the 7-year-old was still there but the voice wasn't. Or was it? I was surprised then and that surprise is still with me, some six years later. I have followed her career since I saw that first video on KZbin and in the six years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz, Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers, like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Lana del Ray, Avicii, Bill Withers, Gloria Gaynor, Andy Williams, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others. What is more extraordinary is that she takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. You will notice that she never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". She just sings the song as she feels it is meant to be sung. And I'll add an even more extraordinary item for you to consider, to show how unique she is. She has the innate ability not only to sing a song as emotionally as the song deserves but to be able to communicate those same emotions to the listener. As I have noted above, I have been following her career a long time and have listened to every interview she has given and every documentary about her and every performance she has ever given. What stands out for me is how a very shy and humble girl in her normal life, can be transformed into the perfect vehicle for the song she has chosen to sing, once she starts to sing. Although the gift of singing and all her performances appear to be effortless, Angelina works very hard to ensure that the one she is going to record reflects what she sees as the correct way to meld both lyrics and melody. If you go to kzbin.info/door/hM_lpT4shdnsez93QMJPig you will find many rehearsals where, not only do you get to see her rehearsing but being the "ordinary" girl she is (if indeed one is able to apply that adjective to her). Most of her performances are recorded in her home studio, either with background music or a single guitar. Most are done in one take. She treats the whole thing as a hobby. As we would have said when I was young. "There is no 'side' to her" She is completely transparent to the world. Perhaps you would like to go back a few years and work forward. By doing so, you will come to the realisation that she is "unique" and I don't use that word loosely. There is truly no other singer who has her versatility and sheer ability to communicate the emotions of a song to her listeners. I doubt there is another singer who works so hard to ensure that, when she sings the song, it is sung in such a way that her listener becomes enmeshed in the emotions So, here a few recordings for you to consider. age 6 - First visit to a Recording Studio:I who have nothing: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJu0i354pbuUm9U age 7 - Norway's Got Talent - First Audition: Gloomy Sunday: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqKafqSae9ScmKs age 7 - Norway’s Got Talent - Judges' Cut-Off:I’m a fool to want you kzbin.info/www/bejne/gonOn3-QedSFjLM age 8 - Norway's Got Talent - Semi Final: Bang Bang: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYSogGZ_gruneas age 8 - Norway's Got Talent - Final: Summertime: kzbin.info/www/bejne/amWWoXWJpd1oeJY age 8 - Concert in Sweden - "I'll be there":kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHusqKmNmdSCadE age 8 - Charity Concert: At last: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmKck4RvfpKHY8k age 11 - It’s Now or Never - kzbin.info/www/bejne/np3MYpmroJ2th7M age 10 - Norwegian TV Production: Every time we say goodbye: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYO2emt-orl7gKM One thing which several of the new reactors - and those who have returned to her have decided, is to follow her career from the start. Thanks for your first wonderful reaction to Angelina, Matt and I'm happy with your discovery of this fantastic little girl who started singing in public at age 7, when she won the NGT. I hope you continue to discover her, I think it's really worth it, she is so unique, as a person and as an artist. I thinks that you can be impressed by the fact that Angelina at only 13 years old was able to face a challenge with such an iconic song as this and made her become her own song, with a fantastic reworking, a calm, powerful and terribly emotional interpretation and a great courage to take him to one of the most difficult audiences of the show. The best of Angelina ... is Angelina, 😆 🤗 She searched her way for her version of the song and chose the lyrics that fit. Simply, changing the times and the reading key, based on her ability to understand and elaborate the song which, for a girl of that age, is almost supernatural, she created HER Bohemia Rhapsody. She just loves singing and does it her way. ❤️ The 3 year old little girl in Norway had a dream, while watching the Talents on TV, to sing one day for Simon, I would say that after only 10 years she achieved it really well, she fascinated him ... Angelina is not only what you saw in this perfect performance, she is much more, even very different, but everything she does is at a superlative level, she sang about 130 different interpretations, including covers, songs written for her and her originals written between 11 and 12 years old, if they seem enough You can react at her first 4 public performances of Norway's Got Talent in 2014, those performances made during a few months are the her first public appearances, but you can already see what her was capable of and how her skills had improved in that limited period of time. Good reaction to AJ's technical skills. Few reactors recognize those aspects as well as her choice to totally and fearlessly reinvent what might be the most iconic song on the planet, and to do it starting a cappella, with lots of open space (ie silence), while in front of judges (especially Simon) that she has looked up to for years. I hope you react to Angelina more. She has a unique ability to "tune" her voice to the song, and picking the vocal embellishments so instinctively. I already saw one list posted here, and I'm sure you will have plenty more. My main point is she has really explored her vocals, and one song really doesn't cover it. Also, while her other AGT performances are incredible, she was limited by the producers, so don't just stay in there. Her own choices are a combination of what inspires her, and exploring her vocal limits and interpretations.

I am not saying completely avoid them, mainly because her version of Bang Bang on Norway's Got Talent, is such a great teaching tool for timing. I should say Jazz timing. She sings most of the song behind the beat of the guitar, then she makes eye contact with the guitarist during a little guitar riff, then she finishes the song on the beat. In my opinion.

Nice reaction! Angelina had six years and well over 100 covers and originals prior to this performance and she runs the gamut from jazz (her roots, which she was literally learning before the rest of us were figuring out the whole potty thing), blues, soul, adult contemporary, disco, rock, country, classical, folk and all the ones I missed. The has the full array of voices and vocal techniques at her disposal and knows when and how to use them to support the delivery of the song rather than play show and tell. Despite insistent claims of a five octave vocal range by some of her fans, she fits comfortably within 3 1/2 octaves (Bb2ish to F5ish) and can hit the upper limit of that range in a fully supported chest voice. Check out her renditions of A Million Years Ago for the lower limit and I Have Nothing (chest voice) or the end of Unchained Melody (head voice) for the upper limit. She can do the rasp, the vocal fry, the growl or squeal/roar, a stunning vibrato at pretty much any point in her vocal range, and in any voice, and seemingly with the ability to modulate both frequency and amplitude independently. But none of that is what makes Angelina Jordan the singer Republic Records just gleefully signed to their label. Angelina is as amazing as she is because of her ability to use all of the above to deliver the song, it’s meaning, feelings and emotion and to connect on a deep level with the listener. The truly freakish thing is that she has been doing this since long before she hit double digits in age. She has an amazing cover of wicked game, sitting alone in her family room (or whatever) with nothing but an electric piano, sparsely played, and her voice. And by god does she ever deliver some devastating emotion. If you check it out, make sure you watch with the fan-made black-and-white video, not the official one with a bright and cheerful slideshow of photos of her smiling face which doesn’t really fit with the text of the song. Billie Holliday was a big influence among other female jazz voices from back in the day, and among contemporary vocalists Amy Winehouse stands out as an influence. But she is an amalgam of many influences and will incorporate whatever singing style the song calls for. Normally at this point I would suggest you react next to a studio recording (set to a Black and White in-studio video) of “I put a spell on you” from when she was just nine years old. Her performance was Inspired by the Screamin’ Jay Hawkins version of the song (he makes a cameo appearance). But, with you being a vocal coach, it worries me a little. Most vocal coaches who hear that song as their first or second Angelina reaction have a tendency to freak out and assume she’s been on a path of rampant vocal destruction. 😂 It was a one-off and she has never done anything like it since. It’s pretty intense but I would rather you discover why when you eventually react to it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKipnaJ5hb2tedU If you would rather see something first that is a little more subdued but nothing short of absolutely stunning vocal magic, I suggest the following version of “Cry Me a River”. This one is an outdoor performance inspired by Julie London’s take on the song. It is silky smooth, sung effortlessly with an ethereal and hypnotic chest voice and the crazy thing is that Angelina actually looks (to me) to be maybe a little fatigued when she tackled the song at the beginning. This is nevertheless my personal favourite of all her vocal performances (other than her originals). I’d say that roughly 30-40% of the times I have fallen asleep in the past 8-10 months, this song has been right there in my AirPods helping me along. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pp64cmp_matsiKc I hope you keep going with Angelina and if you do, have fun!

@@ramseyvoicestudio I should add that I differ from many of my friends in the Angelina microcosm in that I don’t agree that starting at the very beginning and moving forward is necessarily the best or only way to approach her music. It definitely counts as an exercise in personal strength and self-control and Yogi-like mental fortitude. But from the musical perspective, it isn’t the only approach. First, she has dozens upon dozens upon dozens of songs on KZbin. If you take a strict chronological approach you will need to drop all your other artists, your day job, your family, your personal hygiene etc. and make it a full-time undertaking. More importantly, I don’t see her musical repertoire as being linear. There are different stages of development, yes. There are also different genres. There are originals versus covers. There are different voices that she has experimented with. There are live performances versus studio. There are more and less popular songs. And yes, depending on the person and their taste, there are likely to be “better” songs and “less better” ones. And on and on. My personal recommendation is that you try to get an overview of her capabilities by sampling all these different pockets of her portfolio, rather than being rigidly bound to chronology. It is, of course, fun to listen to the evolution of Angelina’s vocals. But there are different ways of doing that. There are chronological compilations that cover the full ranch, including (substantial) excerpts of the songs along the way. I personally have a chronological playlist which includes my favorite songs from along that journey rather than every single song. There are also chronological playlists on KZbin that you could use to sample songs chronologically rather than trying to cover them all in the first run. Her fans would be more than happy to help you along the way to point out good choices for songs at different points. It feels like I’m over complicating this. My point is simply that I don’t think you need to feel bound to a strict chronological approach. It’s not chronological, but I have a list of about 20 songs, each of which has a description that explains each of the songs, their significance, where it fits with her repertoire etc. its not systematic or exhaustive but it is an attempt to cover some of the “pockets” I mentioned above. It’s NOT intended to be a request list, but rather a kind of “roadmap” to help reactors decide on their own where they want to go next. If you made it this far, let me know if you are interested. :)

@@BlackWolfSpirit well, Every Time We Say Goodbye is in the same short “go to sleep” playlist I have with Cry Me a River, KORK Summertine, Young and Beautiful, At Last (the charity performance, not the one with the band with the dumb conductor who doesn’t understand tempo 🙄) and a few others. Couldn’t agree more about Every Time We Say Goodbye. Oslo is just a bit too intense for that playlist - not her vocals but the band. I love Stabsmusikkorps but sometimes let’s just say they miss opportunities to dial things down a bit.

@David Forster, I am interested in your playlist. Partly because, as you may know, in a reaction video, the first hearing is the one that is reacted to. I don't sample. And I agree that perusing an artist's work doesn't have to be in any kind of order.

@@ramseyvoicestudio here it is! Again, the idea is that hopefully the short descriptions will give you an idea of what to expect so that you can choose the next song yourself. This list is nowhere near exhaustive, but it’s a sampling of different areas of her repertoire focused, of course, on some of my favorite songs in those different areas. But there are so many more and I’m sure you’ll get great recommendations for other great songs from other people. 1. Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen). kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqS3eWNoi56DqpY . This is probably her most sublimely and cerebrally beautiful vocal performance, as if it was the culmination of everything that she has learned before it. Her own arrangement; totally unique, but also completely respectful of the original. Completely absorbed the attention of everyone in the theatre, reduced many to tears. Got a “wow” tweet from the surviving members of Queen. The embodiment of what makes a Angelina Jordan a truly great vocal artist. 2. I Put a Spell on you (Screamin’ Jay Hawkins) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKipnaJ5hb2tedU . A LOT of jaws have been injured when they dropped to the floor while listening to this song. She had just turned nine years old. I repeat, she had just turned nine. That’s Screamin’ Jay on the CANDLE at the beginning of the recording. (I seem to have this incessant need to keep referring to it as a “mug”). 3. Norway’s got talent performances - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWPFiWRrqb55jM0 . These are the performances that put the 7-8 year old Angelina on the world stage. They are all short so all four performances add up to less than 10 min. I like the all-in-one version because it shows a pretty amazing progression, particularly in her confidence and stage presence. 4. Shield (Skavlan tv show performance). One of three originals she has released so far. Probably most “commercially” polished. She wrote the lyrics which are beautiful and meaningful (about her family who have guided her career and protected her). A kid with infinite talent and a beautiful soul, apologizing to her family for being a burden. 😞 She collaborated with other musicians (a songwriting trio from Norway) on the music and arrangement. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooLXhpWMgMdjrNU === The “Rest” - Her other two originals, also amazing, are “What is Life?” ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKeTo2ptgLNqiKM ) and “Oslo” ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGOrnH6elKijbqs ). I much prefer the *acoustic* version of What is Life with her standby US guitar accompanist Ivan Mendes and Dylan Meek on piano. For the record, Dylan is a 2020 Grammy nominee for a song he co-wrote for the film “Into the Spider-Verse”. - You may have heard of a dude named Quincy Jones. In 1964 he arranged a version of Bart Howard’s “Fly me to the Moon” for a couple of other dudes named Count Basie and Frank Sinatra. That became the iconic version of one of the all time great jazz classics. Flash forward to 2018 and there is a big bash at the O2 in London for Quincy Jones’ 85th birthday. Care to guess who he invited to the show to perform Fly Me to the Moon? kzbin.info/www/bejne/fX3Hf5ZobtaXbZI . Quincy played a pretty large role in the development of another dude’s career - kid named Michael Jackson. At the O2 event he described Angelina as the biggest talent he’d seen come along since Michael Jackson. - Cry Me a River (Arthur Hamilton/Julie London). This version kzbin.info/www/bejne/pp64cmp_matsiKc . No song by her or any other artist has ever had the “make-me-cry” staying power of this one. It’s not a song, it’s a magic spell. I think this is my favourite Angelina performance, certainly among the live ones - For minimalist high art, Wicked Game (Chris Isaac, this version kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3qkfnlqe6mZrZY ). This arrangement (as with much of her music, by Angelina herself) and performance is an absolute genius piece of art. In terms of its brilliance as a completely unique and sparse but faithful arrangement of the original classic song, it is on the same level as her Bohemian Rhapsody cover. Piano accompaniment by Angelina herself. - Wanna see her upper register? Watch her take Whitney for a whirl with I Have Nothing. Fasten your seatbelt but also note the sublime beauty of the non-belting parts. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4XGp6mFa6dmf9E . This is a pretty straightforward cover using a backing track that may well have come from David Foster himself, with whom she is pretty tight. This song demonstrates the upper limits of her vocal register, sung with a full chest voice. I haven’t listed it here but “Unchained Melody” has a high falsetto at the very end which achieves pretty much the same high notes but with a head voice.. - Young and Beautiful (Lana Del Rey). In my opinion, one of AJ’s most sublimely beautiful vocal performances, up there in the vicinity of Bohemian Rhapsody and Cry Me a River. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaHVeIeeo7GcopY - For sheer dominating vocal power try It’s a Man’s World (James Brown). kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnbQaKd9p898gc0 . Please make sure your safety bar is locked firmly in place. That’s the Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces trying not to be completely drowned out by her. - Every Time We Say Goodbye (Ella Fitzgerald). kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYO2emt-orl7gKM . For a song with a kind of sad theme, I’m not sure why listening to this makes me happier every time I hear it. Calming-for-the-spirit performance on a rooftop in downtown Oslo for a radio station. Like Cry Me a River, this is more sorcery than music. But in a very, very good way. - When you’re smiling (Louis Armstrong). kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH3Yf4RsqJyZebM . A song and video about being happy that will make you happy. Unless you have rotten eel innards for a heart. 🙂 - California Dreaming (The Mommas and the Pappas). kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3OsaH6jaN9qY7c. Another absolute genius, slowed down version of an iconic song. The amazing guitarist is Ivan Mendez, who has been supporting her for years, just because. - I’m Still Holding Out for You. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqebnp15nZqcn6c . Where do I start. 😞 This is a sad story on a few different levels. It is an absolutely stunning song written by Brandon Lowry of Baby Fuzz while he was at a songwriting workshop in Oslo. I believe the first person to record the song as a demo with Baby Fuzz was Angelina Jordan. The story, not really confirmed but certainly plausible is that it wasn’t supposed to be released because her family felt the theme of the lyrics (especially the last verse) was too much for a 12-year-old girl. It was leaked in any case. BabyFuzz was not happy but did not take action and it appears her family has come to accept it as well. Brandon Lowry did record his own version of the song eventually with his own vocals which is the official version. It’s a great recording but, frankly, the vocals aren’t even in the same stratosphere as Angelina’s hypnotically beautiful version. And it has a tiny fraction of the KZbin hits as the version with Angelina’s vocals. - I Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor). kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5KapJSVo5yeY5o - Disco!! So much fun!! Angelina often has a tendency to slow songs down, which is a very mature and unusual trait for a young singer. With the intro to this song Angelina shows how it’s possible to slow a song down dramatically without actually substantially modifying the tempo. This song is one of the best demonstrations of her creativity and her unbelievable mastery of rhythm and phrasing. - Born to Die (Lana Del Rey). Witness AJ’s lower register kzbin.info/www/bejne/en-4XnuZgdqClas . One of the most melodic performances of a monotone song you’ll ever hear. - Back to Black (Amy Winehouse). Like I Put a Spell on You, also a studio-recorded music video. More of her lower register and incredible maturity in a 10-year old (I think?) voice. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3S8YqiAmpZoma8 - Stay (Rhianna). An acoustic version. I love this cover, but for many people this is one of if not the favourite cover. A beautiful, slowed-down acoustic version of Rihanna‘s classic. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXi2h4OseN5mj8k - A Million Years Ago (Adele). kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3mvpY2HaNh8rac . A lot of Angelina’s fans will tell you this is better than Adele’s original. I don’t play that game, but this is a really, really beautiful acoustic rendition of that song. She really shows off her lower register here and I’m pretty sure this song contains the lowest note that we have on record.

HI Ramsey. That was a good reaction. Thank you for the little breakdown too. So many people already said it below. You might want to put on head phones or earbuds, for your missing some of her little vocal ornaments & nuances. I'm going to give you a lot of info so please read & you'll really get to know Angie a whole lot better & understand her more. History was made, If anyone's brave enough to do this song, in her rendition of the song, they'll be compared to her, for it's her song now. Think of it, she took a iconic classic rock opera & stripped it down & turned it into a jazzy/bluesy, soulful ballad at age 13. Please support her music, CD's, iTunes, etc.. Put her on your play list on your channel...So many producers (even Disney) have been trying to get her to sign with them. Her & her mom just tell them no, (she wants to finish school 1st). Her family is very protective of her, they even formed a production co. for her (Angelina Jordan inc.) so to try & keep the industry’s claws out of her. She's a rare talent that comes by once in a lifetime. Angie is music. She can do any genre & sound better than most originals & she's still very young too. She’s 14 as of 1-10-20. She made her outfit using the pattern of an artwork, from her grandmother. She makes several of her other outfits for shows & concerts too. Her uncle got a great lawyer & she just signed with Republic records as of the end of Aug 2020 (she won’t show on site until her 1st album comes out). She’s their top priority right now. Angie wanted complete creative freedom & writing for her music, so we'll see if Republic honors this. I hope you buy her new CD when it comes out & maybe even react to the songs on it. A God given voice & talent. What amazing timbre, texture, liquid gold vibrato & amazing rare skill of tremolo & the pitch perfect skill as well, She also does back phrasing to when she chooses. Her Melisma’s are out of this world, also no sound comes out of her mouth unless she wants it too, control beyond most of the pro adult singers, etc She's very sweet, respectful, humble, giving, & a loving Christian in real life too. She selects, arranges & composes her songs while still being respectful to the original. She has written 3-4 songs plays 4+ instruments & is trying to learn a little Saxophone right now. Speaks 3-4+ languages & sings in 4+ languages etc.. English isn’t her 1st language, it’s her 3rd or 4th. She also gives a lot to charities & helps out children who really need it. People will explain why she’s barefoot when she sings on stage down below in the comments. She wrote a book about it called “Between 2 hearts” & she became the youngest to be published in Norway at 9. Hi Ramsey, wellcome to the universe of Angelina Jordan and thanks a billion for this absolut professional and informative reaction to her. You are one of the very few reactors who give us a professional analyse at least of some of Angelinas singing skills - and I have seen over 500 different reactors reacting to her. And I'm sure to hear more reactions from you! ...because it is... ...too late! From now on you are assimilated in Angelinas entourage! Resistence is futil... Even if you won't believe it and if you are in denial about it: Only listen to one song sung by Angelina Jordan and you are hocked on listening her voice! May be you aren't aware of it yet... a legend says in rare cases there are humans who can resist.... but I can't believe it ;-) Every time it's a pleasure to watch people reacting to Angelina Jordan - especially when it is the first time - and I hope to see more of your reactions on Angelina Jordan... ;-) May be you wonder, what videos you should next react to ;-) ... There is a big pile of over 130 videos on youtube with Angelina Jordans rehearsals, covers and originals... She is born 10th Januar 2006, sung her first notes of a Whitney Houston song with 18 months (link see down), started researching the internet for Jazz 3 yo, entered Norske Talenter (Norwegian Got Talent) 7 yo and won it 8 yo, was on AGT The Champions (recorded Oct. 2019, aired Jan. 2020) where she didn't won - some rumours say because she/her mother didn't sign the contract with the enterprise of Simon Cowell for to stay independed - meanwhile she has signed with Republic Records (musicnorway.no/news/industry-talk-michael-astar/). And here is a video where it is explained (with english subtitles) why she performs barefoot: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d16yfH-pobRqars and here an Interview in the norwegian TV (with english subtitles) from 2015 after she has published her book about the story why she is barefoot when performing: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5SmfXePZaiGkJo In addition to school she got also vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program - and btw. she plays also grand piano, violin, flute and guitar, make her arrangements herself, wrote a book, sew clothes for herself (partly with art from her granma like in her first AGT performance and in her music video "Shield"). So she is a real multitalent and I think all her fans are eager to see and hear what she is doing next... All the other things like more recommendation, chronological playlists and so on you can read in the comments of the megafans like Fernando F., Rusty ... And a little Question: When you react to her cover "I put a spell on you" b/w studio version at 9yo (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKipnaJ5hb2tedU - btw. she made most of her cover arrangements by herself!) it would be nice to react in the same reaction video IN ADVANCE to the original from Screemin' Jay Hawkins (from 1956 - Live: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZyqgZumq9anhcU or another version of it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/paOxoXtsnt6ioas or as Audio-Studio-Version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmPGlaF3itumrZo) that's real fun :-D - and than you will find out that Angelinas cover is a real tribute to Jay Hawkins :-D Thanks a billion again for your reaction! ...and see you soon with your next AJ reactions - with greetings from Berlin/Germany :-D Best regards Andreas

One important thing to remember about AJ is that she own the rights to everythong she sings. She refused to sign for a record deal through AGT and they relented and invited her to sing anyway. She began singing at 18 months and due to her grandmothers influence, she was drawn to and fell in love with jazz and blues music. She has been arranging most if not all of her music performances since she was 8 yeats old. Currently in 2022 she still performs barefoot, sews her own clothes, (the cloth is designed by her grandmother) and she stands 6 feet tall at 15 yeats old! We all hope to enjoy her performances for many years to come. BTW I'm 80 and have been involved privately in music since age 7.

Tiny Little Girl Our tiny little girl with the grownup voice will be 17 on Jan. 10, 23 and is now 6'1" tall and could be a super model, but I hope the major portion of her career will be dedicated to her music and taking the world to a better place. I don't think she even realizes this power she holds over us and the need to hear that signature voice to fill that empty void within all of us. Angelina Jordan is in fact the "Benchmark" for all other vocalist to try as they might to achieve.

Matt, very nice reaction and analysis. For your first time listening to Angelina you hung in there pretty good. Most vocal coaches need to wait a few seconds to relax and wait for their brain to tell them what just happened. Unless you are super human I suspect the same thing happened to you. That's okay. We've all gone down that road. She is absolutely marvelous and her future is very bright, indeed! She has over 120 covers to react to and she has done the arrangements on all of them to make the song "her own". Her jazzy, bluesy, soulful unique style is evident in all her music and all of this started when she performed in Norway's Got Talent at age 7. Stay with her. She's special.

She won Norwegian talents at the age of 8, and is predicted to become the next superstar! Angelina Jordan has now signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist 2020. Astar says the commitment has been important when choosing a team. You can read about it here: musicnorway. She is also known for being able to adjust the voice to which genre she sings. She has approx. 130 covers on KZbin + 5 originals. Angelina Jordan - Date of birth: January 10, 2006 (age 14 years), Born and raised in Oslo, Norway; this world-renowned singer has earned fantastic reviews for the amazing breadth, depth and maturity of her vocal talent that simply belies her young age. Something you might have noticed is that Angelina always performs barefoot! When Angelina was 6 years old, she met a homeless girl around her age when she was traveling in the Middle East. The girl did not have any shoes, and Angelina says her feet were scarred. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes. Angelina then “vowed never to appear on stage again wearing shoes until all the world’s children had them.” She keeps that promise to this day, as she says that little girl “is always in my heart.” - Angelina said she asked the little girl what her dream was, and the girl responded that she wanted to be a doctor. Angelina told her to “never give up.” In return, the girl told Angelina she would pray for her, and asked her to “remember me.” She might as well sing in a bad cellphone microphone, without a microphone, or to collaborate with professional musicians. She does not need any autotune or digital aids to sing. It is real song in an otherwise polished world. She just sings because it's her passion. Angelina’s videos have received over "over 600 Million views on youtube & over 2 Billion views on Facebook." Amazingly, her passion for music began at just one-and- a-half years of age. At the age of seven, Angelina auditioned for Norway’s Got Talent performing Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She won the competition with the show drawing record TV audiences. Not surprisingly, throughout her rising career, Angelina has featured in prominent media outlets including TIME, CNN, BBC, and People while also performing on the U.S. network TV shows Little Big Shots and The View. In 2016, Avicii chose Angelina for the some vocals on his worldwide Volvo commercial campaign, a brilliant cover of Nina Simone’s Feeling Good. As well as singing before Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, charitable causes to which Angelina has given her talent include the Rainforest Alliance at the American Museum of Natural History in New York and Ein Herz für Kinder in Berlin where she helped raise over 21 Million Euros for children and families in need. Everyone in the music industry knows who she is, but the family and herself want her to grow up as normal as possible. Among other things, they said no to Disney! This multi-talented singing prodigy has also written a successful children’s book in her native Norway making Angelina the youngest published author in the country’s history. Today she is 14 years old and has over 126 covers and 3 originals on KZbin. She has already managed to collaborate with the biggest in the music industry, and is considered to be a future megarstar. The family and herself want to take it easy in the musical development because of her young age. Angelina wants total ownership over her creativity, without compromise. She / family said no to Disney, among other things. She attends some major foundrising concerts. Rumor has it that she is coming up with her own album this year. Why didn't Angelina win AGT champions? It's because she refused to sign with "Fremantle" when it came to ownership of the version of the performance of the songs. They told her she wasn't gonna win if she didn't. Well. She didn't win. musicnorway.no/news/industry-talk-michael-astar/ Another interesting point in the interview is that Angelina Jordan's appearance in "America's Got Talent" hung in the balance for a long time because the program is bound by long-term contracts which in the worst case can force a participant into a special management and record company. For manager Michael Astar, this was completely out of the question.- Then it took a while and they contacted me again to ask if she would sing on their show. Then I persuaded them to give me a contract where Angelina was completely released from any agreement if she performs, he says to Music Norway. no/news/industry-talk-michael-astar/ The entire acclaimed music industry knows who she is, and she was invited to sing for Quincy Jones during his 85th birthday at O2 Arena London

Thanks for a good technical analysis. Angie is heavily influenced by jazz and specifically, Billie and some of the world acknowledged greats of jazz. I will be interested in your future assessments of Angelina. She has a large catalogue of covers (130+ songs) with a few original materials. Singing many jazz standards, she could easily stand up next to the original artists at such a young age. "I put a spell on you" black and white video version at age 9... "Gloomy Sunday", "Fly me to the Moon" and "Summertime". subscribed.

Those that can please the crowd, get up on stage and do it, those that can't, teach wow to do it. This "teacher" may know a lot, but makes a sound with his voice that would make half the crowd leave the room, but before they go, he tries to tell everyone what the girl with the amazing talent is doing "WRONG"! Angelina is the best singer I've ever heard but for this guy, it's just not the right way to sing, not good enough, and he learned that in a school somewhere. If you really want to know how to do something, quit school and go get a job working with professionals that can already do things good enough to make a living at it. You can work for free or maybe make a little money while leaning your profession and save a ton of money not spending it at school for a "teacher" to tell you the way things ought to be. If your teacher can't earn a living doing what you want to do for a living, why listen to them? Some teachers can offer some good advice, but it's rare they can help you earn money, they live in a make believe world of how things ought to be if everything was just perfect. That is a world that doesn't exist except in a classroom, playing make believe. The real world needs people to perform and get paid for it, not paid for living by the book.

Hi. There are several points about Angelina that I would like you to address (I am a musical composer). I tell you from my point of view and why they make this teenager (perhaps) the best singer of all time. 1) Plasticity. She can "imitate" any singer with her voice, imitating means having the ability to "absorb" from said singer colors, textures, musical smells, feelings, that's why I say that Freddie Mercury could only be Freddie Mercury but not Amy's textures Whinehuse or Elvis Presley and so vice versa. There is no singer of today, famous (Adele, etc) or in musical growth who has this capacity 2) humility. Absolutely all the singers at this moment personify the music, they create a show of everything they do, instead Angelina seems like a teenager who is continuously learning, practicing. How long is she going to practice? I don't know ... when she presents videos on KZbin and fans or haters admire or criticize they don't understand that she is only practicing, she is a girl who practices music, nothing more than that. I am impressed that she also practices when she is on stage, and it seems that she only does performances until now to give herself "little tastes" like going to AGT: SHE JUST WANTED TO SING HER IDOL Simon Cowell (AS SHE SAID IT) SING QUINCY JONES OR SING WITH THE NORWEGIAN BAND TO SHOW THE POWER THAT HIS SONG HAS (LITTLE LIKES THAT THIS GIRL GIVES HIMSELF IN LIFE) 3) There is something that very few Reactors have mentioned: she is continuously playing (if she is not the reincarnation of Elvis Presley I do not know what it is) I explain: at the moment she connects with some musicians of the orchestra and exchanges gestures, she often looks at the camera intently because she knows that someone is looking at her from this side, other times she is so possessed in the narration of the song that it is difficult for her to return to reality, it remains as in a strange state of regression 4) she is a musical teacher, she makes small corrections to the original musicians, without changing her style or original narration and she does it with n much respect. Be careful, to make a correction to composers like Freddie Mercury YOU HAVE TO BE VERY GOOD (in Bohemian Rhapsody he showed Mercury that his song would sound much more universal with his arrangements because the rock "wave" attracts more rock lovers or in GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD corrected Elton John's performance and perhaps - excuse the audacity - also correcting author Bernie Taupin's melodic line) 5) universality. Angelina Jordan has an ongoing obsession with making music for all ages. NEVER SAW SOMETHING LIKE THIS, a musician (in this case sings an author) who is obsessed with the fact that music stops being fragmented into styles. How to achieve this? making the important thing is the dimensionality of the song, a singer whose purpose is to teach that singing is not a gymnastics, singing is not an Olympic vocal chord tournament, music is not a stage show: MUSIC IS SIMPLY ONE BEAUTIFUL SONG TO SHARE. GREETINGS TO THE COMMUNITY (I write this not as a fan but as a lover of good music). By the way, she's 14 years old ...

Angelina brought me to you and I liked what I saw and subscribed. WARNING: This girl is addictive and you will get HOOKED! Welcome to “The World Of Angelina Jordan Astar” (full name). “The Barefoot Singer With The Velvet Voice And A Mona Lisa Smile”. From her audition on Norway’s Got Talent (2014 - age 7 - Gloomy Sunday "Billy Holiday") through the finale’ on America’s Got Talent The Champions (2020 - age 13 - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road "Sir Elton John") and the 130+ videos in between you will not be disappointed. My personal favorite is her cover of Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die".

Hi Ramsey, I always appreciate your video critiques and appreciations, especially on this Angelina Jordan video whom I appreciate as a singer too. I want to share my experience that I am a good singer when I was a child. But since I undergo adolescent, I my voice was chamged drastically, the reason why I can't reach high notes as much as I can when I was a child. Now, I am trying to sing high pitch songs, I can reach it but I can't perform it so clean as before as well. What could I do to bring back my high note voice? Below here is the song that I want to perform for my auditions, but yeah, I can't since my voice is not as clean as before. Also, I would love to see if you can react also to my replies below. This is again a show from China "Produce Camp 2019", this was performed by Zhou Zhennan, Zhao Lei, Gao Jialang, Zhang Yuan, Zhao Zhenghao, Zhao Zefan, and their guest performer Ouyang Nana. The title of the song is "Transform". They are good vocalists, and I think you can react several points on this video. I am looking forward for you in reacting this video and answering my question. Keep doing this video, many people appreciates it 😊😊😊 kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJiVk5h7qrBkaKc
