This poem fits right into place with what hs happened to society over the last fourty years, like the piece of a jigsaw without the picture to follow for guidance, society always lives or dies by the things it creates and by what it makes. This is how our hands and minds have died since our industry has been decimated and then redistributed leaving another fall of man, without his or her hand to eye coordination in place we begin to die as a nation, slowly at first then exponentially once we reach a certain level where training for the future has ceased, and are then unable to fend for ourselves.

I grew up in a time when the intact family was the norm (1960s). We had teachers and Scout Leaders who were of the Great Depression/WW2 generation that just oozed testosterone, a few of whom were Veterans. We were surrounded by men and women who showed us how to be masculine without being overly aggressive. We had bullies of course, but something we didn’t realize at the time was that most of those bullies came from some of the few broken homes or had terrible family dynamics at home. My Dad taught us that it’s better to say “it’s my fault” and suffer the consequences, than to lie about it and cover it up. The punishment was double then. Unfortunately today, kids don’t seem to get those life lessons to the same extent that we had (like the bullies in my day) and we’re now seeing the results.

We also did silk screening, leather works and worked on a variety of other projects as well. Another class was "home economics " which taught things like basic cooking skills, meal planning, creating a household budget, basic home repair. Had women been seen as team mates and not possessions things would have been better. While I have no desire to control a man I also stay single as I refuse to be controlled. I watch your videos often and find them interesting. The one which stayed with me was your description of man's place in nature being a place where he can urinate freely. That struck a deep chord in me and got me thinking. Masculinity in this form is primal. However masculinity in my thoughts cannot exist without femininity as the two are ends of a single spectrum. Some men can be very feminine in their ways while some women may be masculine so there is an overlap I'm not thinking about sexuality here but rather about individual nature. It is just about who we are and what we learn to be. For my own part I am a strong male but I need to temper that instinct to make me socially acceptable. This is okay by me and I do this by cultivating a wider range on the male/female spectrum which benefits me as a whole person. The negative masculinity as you describe it is so transparent in the modern world with its hollow machismo and it is little wonder there has been a reaction against it. You are one of the few who can actually argue the case for 'real' masculinity which makes you important as the balance needs to be redressed. Toxic masculinity needs to be challenged but I fear that filming yourself frying bacon with an axe will not provide the credibility necessary to challenge the negative stereotypes. The chats with the coffee hit the spot perfectly.

It's hard because parents don't have as much influence over their children as in times past. I know whatever I tried to teach my kids, the school would teach them the exact opposite. I had been teaching my son some Objectivist principles and he decided to do an essay about them for a writing assignment in school. The teacher wrote a note on the paper that she wanted to speak to him after class and she told him she was very concerned with the ideas in his paper. She actually told him that it is much better to think what everybody else thinks and not have your own ideas.

I grew up in Dinarian Alps, raised by my grandparents who were both from Great generation and lived through wars and hard life. We never talked about feelings and emotions and we never whined about anything. My grandmother was twice a man than modern city men of today are and modern women that screams how strong they are, totally clueless and not 1/10 of a woman compared to women of old. Majority of humanity right now is just embarrassing.

If a man does what he feels comfortable with and not trying to be something someone else tells him to be he should become masculine naturally because that's what he was born to be. All the instincts should move him in that direction.

I am 26 and have recently become very motivated towards self improvement and hard work. These are two things that our society does not value. We have grown to value complacency and laziness, looking for the easy way in life. I wasted most of my 20’s with bad habits and laziness. In retrospect, I should have spent that time on building skills and working hard. I just found your channel now, but thank you for the gentle encouragement.

You do pretty good for an old man. Haha. I'm 60 years old and over the years, I realized that the less I have the happier I am. Fancy new cars, and these big clap trap micromantions, that are popping up in subdivisions all over the place are just vanity. I learned from my dad, who grew up in the great depression, that working hard for what you have, can make you appreciate it more. It is better to be humble and kind. I enjoyed this video.

The generations of fatherless boys and girls is tragic and it is extremely upsetting that much of this 'new world' does not at all realize the very necessary aspect of certain gender roles. My work involves working with children in 'alternative provision' in terms of their education, and more often than not they are in residential homes or foster homes. I am not exaggerating at all here; every single case has the root problem of an absent parent - most often the father. I am not saying single parent families cannot work, and of course not all couples are perfect, but we need to put the issue of raising our next generation at the forefront of what we do as families and as a society. The breakdown of certain gender roles and the promotion of.. lets just say 'novel' lifestyles, has unequivocally contributed to the pernicious collapse of modern society. The sad truth is, in mainstream society, masculinity absolutely is becoming outlawed, you can easily tell just by the daily discourse that surrounds the words and connotations that people readily attribute towards masculinity. It's very refreshing to know that others see that what is being pushed as masculinity is pretty much the opposite. I wish all those 'boys' would spend less time shaping their eyebrows and taking perfect pictures, and maybe watch a Clint Eastwood movie every now and then.

For real. I worked at a retail job for 4 years (and a few others) and seeing simple things like how different men order their sandwiches was horrifying. I was screamed at and yelled at and physically threatened by lots of men (I was NOT intimidated lol. I was friends with the officer we always had on duty and he had my back. A REAL man). It oozes insecurity. So many of them needed fathers to show them small mistakes others make can be reacted to gracefully and without aggression. Or even just simple patience in waiting. As you said, rap videos did all the work there.

There's healthy masculinity which is rare, and then there's toxic masculinity which is rampant these days. I'm happy to be a middle-aged woman now who is invisible to those toxic men and the kind of crap I had to endure from them. Things like Cat-calls, whistles, sexist comments, man-splaining etc. The only trouble is, now I'm looked upon as worthless because I don't attract that kind of attention from men. My experience, lessons I've learned in life and collected skills have no value because I'm not deemed "F-kable" by strangers; the very strangers who would only value a woman for that. And that my friend, is toxic. I would like to live in a society where elders and crones are valued for their experience, stories, knowledge etc

Thank you Bjorn for speaking out about this. I share your thoughts about these channels as I think any right thinking person does. I agree that they are toxic, disgusting and immature. My belief is that these men who promote the stereotyping of women as materialistic, untrustworthy, disposable and worthless past the age of 30 have chronic personality disorders. Their audience is mainly men under 30 who have little real world experience with women and whose fathers were not in the home or any kind of role model. They are sold the idea that the key to a happy life is to make millions, use your wealth to attract women but never let your guard down. It's really very sad. There are also videos on the Cole Hastings channel that also speak out about the negativity of these messages.
