Ordered mine yesterday, considering spec and price for the elegance trim it’s an absolute bargain. Though I can see Hyundai changing their pricing for 252 given the insane demand. I remember MG launched the MG4 at a very reasonable sub 30k pricepoint at launch in 2021 only to slap an additional 10k on the price for 2022 when they realised how much demand there was. Hopefully Hyundai don’t go doing the same as this could truly be the big shakeup we’ve been waiting for when it comes to EVs being made to be truly affordable. Also, it’s such a pity that we don’t get the option to spec additional equipment like in the UK where you can add on a sun roof and the tech pack with surround view, blindspot monitoring, V2L, wireless car play and digital key through Apple carkeys. Also a pity that we don’t get V2L on either trim level, the dealer I ordered from tried a V2L adapter in the charge port when I was in yesterday ordering the car which didn’t work, he checked with Hyundai Ireland who confirmed it’s not available on the Irish version. Also worth noting there’s a ton of really practical storage accessories available that replace the upper panels on the doors as well as clip on accessories for the back of the passenger seat!

Went to see it on Saturday, fell in love even more. Definitely will be saving up for the initial payment, as I'm absolutely blown away by everything in this car. The dealer said that it's probably going to go up in price about €1k because of the pressure from the UK (it's cheaper here now than there), but even if it does go up 1k, it's still a bargain, especially the top-spec model. Hyundai really figured it out.

Thank you for the informative video. While the Inster is a budget car it sure doesn't feel like the accountants are driving around with you, with actual movable headrests, V2L, quality steering wheel, digital display etc. I know the Dacia Spring is cheaper by 1,500 to 2k, but the accountants were all over that fitting linglong tyres, integrated headrests, no display on base trim, no v2l, and a smaller battery. The Inster does seem better value!

While waiting for this to come here to Spain I was checking the Hyundai websites in France, Germany and UK. It's interesting to see the differences in price (not surprising due to national tax and subsidy differences) and features. In Spain there are no sliding rear seats, no sunroof, no ventilated front seats - not even on the top spec package. But on the top spec package you are forced to get a black roof which is an absurd idea for a country where it gets really, really hot in the sunshine. As usual, the price in Spain is just about the highest in Europe - €31,600 for the top spec 49kWh model with flat white paint.

Having seen both interior colours in the flesh the light one is much nicer - reminds me a bit of the cool 50s retro look of the Nissan Figaro. Unfortunately if you want the light interior in Ireland you have to go for the Elegance launch edition which is only available in buttercream yellow. Wouldn't be my first choice but I'll be spending most of my time sitting in the car and not outside looking at the paintwork.
