18 years?! If they made him work 50 hours a week and pay back all the cost of solving this crime, he'd barely cover the expenses in 18 years. Seems like a mere slap on the wrist for this double murder. And how do they figure it's 2nd degree when its cold blooded, premeditatedfirst degree murder? Crazy!!

Only Canadians can comprehend that. They are a rather weird lot when it comes to sentences for heinous crimes. Life sentences have been given, but it is rare, as far as I can see. Laughable sentences as in this case are the most common occurrence. They are not alone. Things in the UK and Australia are not much diferent. In fact, it is like that also all across the European Union. The only country in the industrialised west with tough punishments for murderers is the USA.

When we're young, we long for that perfect partner to share our lives with, but believe me, we can avoid much of the hassle relationships bring simply by developing great friendships and keeping pets. It's the wishing, the hoping, the longing for and the disappointment in not 'having' that which causes our self inflicted loneliness. Canada, Europe, South American countries, do not have capital punishment, nor life in prison. Some, life in prison does not mean life. They will parole before 20 years. Brazil for example, no one stays more than forty years. If you get 40, you will serve maybe 12. Before 2019 it was 30 years maximum. But you will leave prison after 6 or 7. Many will kill it again. Drug trafficker or organized crime, some times stayed for 20. But it is rare, and they run crime behind prison walls. So corruption is everywhere. One guy, he served if I am not mistaken 30 years, or a little more. But he kept killing other inmates. He said he killed over 100 people. Well, he didn’t last long on the out side, he was killed this year. He said he was a born again Christian.

Like to send a good ATTORNEY to the family, TOO. This isn't justice! When I worked for criminal attorneys, they said there are some people whose lives are so bad to begin with, that they look forward to the death penalty---SO WHEN THIS GUY'S OUT he can then go after the other members of the family too, in 18 years! And what a great incentive for FUTURE murderers? Seeing the emotions of the brother and the police makes this story even more heartbreaking. If only all investigators were this dedicated and intelligent. Props to the undercover team who were able to convince Renee to tell them what he did, I'm sure it must have been very difficult to play it cool and not seem like cops for as long as they did. And the brother. I can only hope he finds peace in his heart one day. The loss of a sibling no matter how old you are is tragic. All those memories you have of them growing up. They're your first friends in this world. May the couple rest in peace and know they have not been forgotten on earth.

Canada is off when it comes to their justice system. I seen another video where a couple was kidnapping raping and murdering young girls. One of the victims was the female suspects younger sister....she lured her own sister to be raped and murdered. Not only did she do less than 15 years(12)but she was working in a middle school after her release.
