16 years of Inkscape use and I didn't know about CTRL feature in color picker. How many other secrets are hidden there? 😆

Hi Martin, thank you for all your work and keeping us in the loop ! The color picker "snapping" is quite useful, in particular for quick and easy access to half-values or regular intervals. Every 10% step like now for opacity, saturation, light, CMYK works well. Dividing by 8 (on 256) is enough for me. 30° or 45° for the hue sounds sufficient (it's 10° now). Otherwise scrolling or typing the exact value is almost faster.

Thanks for the video. Don't work too much, take advantage of the vacations :) I had no idea about that Inkcape feature. I also recently discovered that if you use the mouse wheel on the statusbar color it will change the hue, if you press ALT it will change the opacity, with Shift it will change the saturation and value, stuff like that 🙂

All this cmyk work is wonderful. Very clear and deep explanation, thank you.

It seems like a colossal task. Good luck Martin.

I am very interested in CMYK but I wanted to say keep up the great work. I know you've been working hard on this. At the moment, an unstable version is better than no CMYK feature at all.

5:08 idea: add a slider icon 🎚️ to the right of each slider. Clicking it cycles through predefined step values for each type of slider range.

thanks for the update, while we are waiting for the ambulance to pass, more fun watching if zoom in the camera through the window to show it,

I’ve used the ctrl feature a lot.

I never knew about those 16 step hops in colour picker, and unless it's written in the status bar, would never know. Probably even then as I only look at the status bar while working with canvas. I'd have removed it and waited till someone complains ;)

I don’t need to send it to printer in cmyk (they require srgb, then they use rip software for printing), but I do like to see how the rgb colors translate to cmyk on screen. I export my images to png, then open in Photopea and change mode from rgb to cmyk. Gives me the closest I can get to printed image-if I need to change colors, I use Photopea’s color pallete and switch to cmyk gamut.

Thanks for your efforts. Are you also planning to tackle the "relative" color tweaking for several objects at once without snapping to one general color?

It's certainly possible to add now. I think without the rest of the complexity.

Thanks. Shared it.

Do you have a sea view from your room in Torquay. That will mean something to somebody.

I never knew about this feature. While it sounds useful, I don't know how many people actually use it (the CTRL + jump) 🤔

Hi Martin as you work on the colour selector in Inkscape and I think that the videos and ideas from Color Nerd here on YT may provide some fresh ideas about colour handling in general. So maybe you can get some more fun in programming on the colour things One interesting is youtube.com/@ColorNerd1?si=D2zobisbLPMAFL6X and this kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3atamSaqsuhrsksi=epgPNoq4hav7-p5I
