Another thing that wasn't mentioned is that flowered pikmin when deflowered will become buds again similar to Pikmin 1 instead of turning into leaves like in Pikmin 2 It's also worth noting that the treasures all sparkle the exact same way they did in hey Pikmin, which implies we may be searching for sparklium. In my mind it also solves what the "starbits" are in night mode

Some observations of my own: 1) I think we might have both treasure as collectables, for whatever purpose the serve, and the fruit system since you can see a strawberry in the top left corner at 18:22 and the pumkin like thing at 29:30, both giving off sparkles. It'll be a medium between 2 and 3 which im very intrested in. 2) I think we are eirther getting a new pink couloured pikmin or Wing pikmin return in the main campain. At 13:27 you see the pellet posy is Red, but when we switch to the later in the game version of that same shot at 13:37, Its a pink Pellet Posy next to the blue one. That could be for bonus Wings or the boering alternitive of a new pellet that gives bonus reds and blue as a mixture. 3) I think the Blue circle in the centre at 18:38 is the top of the new cave entrances. You can see light beaming from the bottom of it and the same type of opening is shown in other locations like at 21:39 where its buried under a dirt mound, or 17:58 where its closed

19:39 based on how the Pikmin jump when the wall transitions, I’m estimating that the Pikmin have to bring those dirt cubes from somewhere else and stick them in the wall to create a climbable surface. And assuming Pikmin still auto return to multi-piece tasks like bridges and such, the Pikmin staying in place tells me one of two things; either they remain at the end point when the task is done, not the starting point, or, the cubes aren’t all stacked in one place and you have to find them scattered around the map. I personally think and hope its the latter, but both could be true. Or false, we’ll have to see.

Probably a crazy theory with no basis in reality, but they never (to my knowledge) said that Pikmin 4 was taking place on PNF404. Another possibly crazy theory with no basis in reality... at no point in the trailer do we ever see both blue pikmin and ice pikmin in the party at the same time. What if we have some way to 'upgrade' or 'evolve' pikmin types in this one. That would be interesting, I mean there is clear overlap between freezing water and walking through water, and it would be pretty easy to see red pikmin becoming fire pikmin, and maybe yellow becoming electric pikmin.

It was cool (pun unintended) seeing a new type of Pikmin again after all this time. We finally know what the fabled light blue/cyan onion at the end of 1 is. I've said this before but I am concerned of the dog being an unwelcome gimmick and/or getting in the way of things that could've been. I have heard the site confirms all types are back but don't know if it's in the main story or not, it'd be lame if not. I also hope ice aren't the only new ones too. Maybe the dog is just an easy mode thing and they didn't reveal that? Who knows. I also got slight probably wrong vibes the main captain is maybe a custom character? Everyone I've heard comments that the initial reaction to the design is more weird and of a random mess than usual, like a created character lol. We also don't see them talk or anything either like the other captains who I feel are regular characters. Again probably wrong but who knows I've kinda warmed up to it already. Am hoping they have another direct that answers this stuff and reveals more whether it be general or Pikmin specific.

A few thoughts: This is a prequel and the main captain in the trailer is Alph's mom, not Alph and Brittany's daughter. The weird new enemy at 21:25 has a strong resemblance to a type of monkey called the Japanese macaque, which typically reside in snowy areas. Maybe they shoot ice? Disco Long Legs fight takes place in a basement of some kind. The new onion looks like a blueberry and I wanna eat it.

Crazy idea, what if the plot of this game is once again having to repair a ship, but this time the ship is HUGE and has a much larger crew (my guess is 20+ members) and you need to explore the dungeons to find them (aka the “castaways”) It would be cool if u can switch out between all the different members, wouldn’t be surprised if Olimar/Louie/The President are among them. I also think the main character is Olimars daughter, and the dog is the same species he named bulborbs after the reason for collecting all these toys/gadgets like the stopwatch binoculars and maybe even the RC boat could be to use as ship parts essentially And maybe they’ll bring back the juice mechanic from 3 and thats why ur still able to collect fruit (another layer of strategy) Last thing, I think the explanation for night mode is that the big ship can’t fly to orbit like in previous games (we see only the all pod fly away) and during night time u need to defend the main ship from crazy enemies

Something tells me they played up the nighttime bit of the trailer. Like it's not actually a bulborb on KILL MODE, but rather since bulborbs are nocturnal creatures, their eyes glow and light up a cone area in front of them and start patrolling the land, so nighttime ends up being a stealth-like game since there's no pikmin around to protect the other captains... UNLESS THERE'S NOCTURNAL PIKMIN!!!

One thing to consider is that just because the buildings are in good shape doesn't mean it's still not post apocalyptic. Apocalypses don't always have to be big natural disasters or nuclear war. They can be plague, something requiring humans to flee the planet, or something supernatural. We have yet to see any actual humans in the game. The strange creatures that we don't find in real life are also indicative that this is either far in the future or a different planet that was settled by intelligent life

Game Theory: PNF-404 has been converted into a tourist attraction. Certain areas have been restored back to how it used to be in “ancient” times, explaining the random houses benches etc. The caves are some kind of escape room type game where you can experience the adventures of Olimar, Louie, and the President, explaining the Disco Long Legs (who looks more mechanical than any other enemy) and the installations in the cave, led lights on the ceiling, led number sign, and the fan geysers. The castaways are people who failed the escape room and need to be rescued.

The step ladder was actually the same one, in the first shot you see the “toolbox“ which is actually a paper bag-like thing as it turns out in the second shot. Also I just wanted to mention that I looked the game up in the eShop and in the main picture for Pikimin 4, there is every Pikmin kind (except the Poison Min and the Bulbmin). The setting is quite clearly a pre-school yard. The building looks like a pre-school or day care. There's a flower/vegetable patch, I think there was a sandpit? And it seems like we might be collecting toys. I think the reason the captains look odd and also not very distinguished is because there's gonna be a lot of them. I think this is a sort of tour bus that goes wrong and it's your responsibility to collect all the lost tourists as well as treasure and fruit. As for humans being present, I've always been a bit iffy with the post apocalypse/far future idea. Apart from the Pikmin 3 continents being out of whack, there's clearly presence of humans. The levels shared between Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 show changes which are made by people. Also, people seem to forget that Pikmin 3's world has a lot more man-made stuff. And many objects still have power (the mobile phones). I think it's safe to assume that we never see humans because they never see us. We're meant to believe that maybe outside right now little space men and pikmin are having adventures and we just manage to miss them.

I have to assume Rock Pikmin are returning, because in addition to the Jousting beetles, you can also see the little bugs that flip the glass balls far in the background after climbing up the "alchemy wall". Center background, just left of the doggo pots. Also noticing that in several shots of the yard there's a few half buried canned food cans, with the lid still attached and sticking straight up, that have the same kind of blue glow that's associated with the Ice Pikmin, the Ice Wall, and the little glowing rock bits (Starbits?).

Theory: Ice Pikmin and the light blue gems that you see throughout the video (like what come out of the chungus gate) are together. Maybe they are upgrades to blues (blue gem + blue pikmin = ice pikmin) or the blue pikmin are not involved in Ice Pikmin creation. I think they are upgrades because: they've deliberately not shown the onion with ice pikmin, so we don't know if there's a cyan portion of it with Ice, you never see Blues and Ice min at the same time, and you never see cyan pellets. And it just makes sense. Chances are there will be yellow and red gems with upgrades for them.

Pikmin’s apocalypse could’ve been some sort of rapture. Maybe to reference the “religious” origins of Pikmin since it used to be a game called Adam and Eve after all. And fairly recently too which would explain why everything looks good like the bench. Of course that wouldn’t explain things like Olimar’s Geiger Counter going ape shit when you first find it in Pikmin 1. Unless there was just a nuclear power plant near by and since all the humans got “spirited away” radiation just eventually leaked out into the area. And a few other things like the skeletons you find in 1 and 2. Or the underground treasures in 2.
