it looks like the bedroom of every guy i ever dated. basically you probably wouldn't eat something if you dropped it on this guy's floor, but you're also probably not going to touch any gross sticky surfaces or feel weird about sitting somewhere. the 3 who didn't look like this were not good. very nice clean homes, but were the fuck-with-your-head types :P my fiance is about on this level, and thankfully it means if i don't put away the laundry for 2 days no one's mad. also he's not going to pick my stuff up and put it in weird places like he's my mom. i do find giant shoes all over my house in random places, but there are worse things in life. my fiance's 16yr old was lamenting her messy clothes-ridden room awhile back and i was like. girl i'm 30 and i still have a took it off the hanger but didn't want to wear it chair, wore it once to the grocery store so it can stand at least one more outing chair, 3 hampers, and still end up with clothes inexplicably all over my floor like i'm still 14. pick it up when you have time and/or are bothered by it, don't ruin nice stuff, make sure there's no food, you're fine.

@Jalae3 жыл бұрын
@@markswatermelonsuppler1280 ya, sure. that somehow is an argument to you? im talking about something else completely, but if you want a more savage dismissal of what a degree is sure, lets go all in against the institution of bullshit paper. degrees are intended to be a shorthand verification of some amount of knowledge in a field. this only works if we assume good faith of - the university system as a whole (this is disproven thanks to money, thanks rich people!), the administrators ( also disproven for basically the same reason), the teachers (disproven for many, thanks tenure!), the students (lol?) so we see at every link in the chain of trust universty as an instituion has failed to deliver it's promises. oh you graduated from stanford for X thing, hired! (because you are rich/come from money/ etc.) oh you graduated from nevada tech for X thing? filed under r for recycle that resume. now obviously there are some counter examples - medicine still has quite the strangle hold on degrees, so they mean something there (they mean that you have gone through the same torture we have, in persuit of capital, so you are more trustable than the rabble) in reality the only value college has is presenting ideas you don't know to look for (use wikipedia and youtube and you can do this yourself) and networking (zoom makin this one kinda flimsy) and maybe an enviroment free from distraction (lol?) in reality a degree says nothing about what a person actually knows. in those places where a degree is required it's more about classist bullshit than it is about actual ability. we don't even need to talk about the fact that because college is so pushed to middle classers as a way to get into the more privileged higher middle class (leveraging the future for injection of capital in the present) that we have reached a kind of saturation point where degrees are nearly ubiquitous thus meaningless. (enter meme about 4 year degree holders working at mcdonalds for 14$/hr) and it's not like i don't get why you think it's a good thing right, like I GET IT. i was raised in this hell world where the entire success of a person was preached from every authority figure to be grades and getting into a good school and etc etc. but that's not the same as actually being decent at something, and if you have a way to demonstrate your ability without some very expencive gold foil stamped paper with a good name on it, edited: for possible misunderstanding request as demand. then all the better. as i said before NOT EVERYONE needs to go to college. like for instance probably you.

This was so good for my mental health to watch a realistic video that admits that for some people the only way we can be motivated is caffeine and Netflix, complete with goofy dancing and a messy room. God, I honestly feel like I could cry I didn’t even realize until I watched this video all the unrealistic, unattainable content I was consuming. It just fed my perfectionist ego and made me feel like a complete failure for not feeling motivated and making my bed everyday. You guys, please really think about the content you are watching and viewing and be aware of how it is affecting your mind and your self-esteem. Your mental health is worth so much more than you realize, it is so much more important to be happy than to strive so hard to attain perfection. @@ninashaven yeah i may have meant to say that instead, but i find the concept of intelligence to be so loose due to cognitive biases that the human mind is inherently riddled with. like the duning-kruger effect where less intelligent people will overestimate their intelligence by virtue of ignorance, basically "you dont know what you dont know" and true knowledge resides in knowing that you know nothing (a la socrates), also because of iq tests whose concept is also extremely loose that even if you were smart, its best to simply assume youre average. when you imply that you need to be smart in order to be accepted in prestigious schools, you promote this way of thinking that limits your potential simply because of a trait that you think you have no control over. i also feel that this is a side effect of public schooling because they are the hotbed of generating fixed mindset societies by using external rewards (gold stars, grades, etc) as a determinant for inner worth and competence. also those acceptance rates remind me of this quote i read a long time ago, "a fool with a plan can beat a genius without a plan." i understand that everyone is different, and i may only be just making these claims because of my disdain for school systems and the toll it takes on young/old people who have so much potential, also because i believe every single person has the capacity to improve, also because of my lack of knowledge on what truly is intelligence, and also because of my inclination towards metaphysical ideas and the feeling that there is something nonphysical that "underlies" physical outward appearances. but i find myself curious about that topic so often that ive started digging out more research, personal observation, and reading philosophy.

He could also mean that he feels that he isn't really trying as much as he could have. If he wasn't a slacker he could have had a 4.5 GPA. That's how I thought of it, as someone with the same GPA as him.
@akanta57464 жыл бұрын
@@anythingbutmyrealname yo you do realize that even 4.4-4.5 gpa's are pretty easy to get right? I managed to have a 4.4 gpa while bombing multiple tests and maxing 0 classes (i second-tiered all my classes) and procrastinating an ungodly amount. If you're smart, you can get high scores on the SAT"s and ACT's because they only test up to like algebra 2 and english 3. I've had friends get 1600's back in 7th grade by accident. If you're dumb, like me, you can still do very well with enough studying. You don't need to be a robot in order to get good grades, all you need to do is to understand the material, listen in class, and cram the lunch break before test (at least thats what i used to do lol)

Hands down my favorite video on the internet. I'm now starting my third year in med school and ever since my first one I come and watch this video every now and then because it just magically makes me put everything back into perspective reminding me of the reasons I'm doing what I'm doing and that it's normal that everything just doesn't go smoothly it has to be difficult and it's just fine. I'm just glad and grateful this video exists and that your mind exists thank you

Samee. I'm in my third year of medschool now, and I come back every couple of months to remind myself that, in Arpi's words, "it's not okay to be a sack of shit"

Caffeine takes about 40 minutes to fully kick in, so you should drink the coffee about half an hour before the things you need to do

Thank you. I always go back to this whenever I have no motivation because your advice was realistic and helpful (for me). Thanks for reminding us that we're not the only ones experiencing these hardships in college. You cool 🤟

God, this is so relatable. I'm just starting university, and I'm literally failing most of my courses because I stupidly thought cramming all the semester in 3 weeks was enough. Now I'm in a strict diet of coffee and Doritos, while studying for 2 hours then playing btd6 for 1 (That from 7 am to 2 am the next day).
