I'm sorry about Caroline. A lot of mill breeding here, so I could only hope to get a guinea pig to live 10 years. Here it's 5-6, at best. You took good care of her.

I have fourteen and we can't keep up with their spot cleaning. It's hard being an in home rescue with just two people, one who works hours away. No funding cause no one has heard of us in SoCal and vet bills crippling us. Keep trying social media, but no one cares. There's also a lot more enclosures cause no one gets along. Males in one room, females in another. 10 enclosures. Hay dust everywhere, even after sifting it for two hours over the weekend every weekend. I wish the rooms were a certain size to just have them all in one, but even then the males can smell the females and that has started fights in the past. Easier to have males together without that smell around to start conflicts. Don't do it people. At least don't have over 10.

Oh, I'm so sorry about Caroline. You took very good care of her. Would spaying a piggie help with them not getting ovarian cysts? I don't even know if spaying a piggie is possible. RIP Caroline. ❤

Spaying a guinea pig is a great preventative for them not to get ovarian cysts, but it can be a very risky surgery. At Caroline’s age, she wouldn’t have made it through a surgery like that so it wasn’t an option 😢

Sea grass houses are brilliant. I used them for my piggies when i had them. A tip cut the bottom panel off if it gets to messy with pee and poops. They last longer❤

My first female guinea pig Matthew wasn’t scared of anything and if she was she didn’t show it. She even purred or rumble strutted at the vacuum the first time we cleaned her and her cagemate Regina’s cage when they were in their play pen when my mom was vacuuming and brought the vacuum close to her. The vacuum we have isn’t one that can suck up a guinea pig. How much does the guinea pig fleece that you have cost? Can fleece be used with bedding? Is there a way to wash fleece bedding without using a washing machine and drying machine? I’m asking the question about the washing and drying machines, because my mom does the laundry and she doesn’t want to put fleece with guinea pig poop on it into the washing machine with our clothes and get poop particles on the clothes and doesn’t want to get any of the guinea pig poop in the washing machine and then have to clean it out.
