Im a dentist so just letting you know that the Jack & Jill toothpaste does NOT have fluoride in it. Fluoride is the component of toothpaste that protects your teeth against decay. You are putting your childs teeth at risk of decay by using this toothpaste. Please reconsider using this. I have seen too many children have to go under general anaesthetic to have teeth extracted due to parents being uneducated about fluoride. Love your videos and never usually comment but just had to bring this to your attention if your own dentist hasnt already x

This! I was using the milk teeth one too until we were told it doesn’t have ENOUGH fluoride in, think it should be over 1000 but no higher then 1500 (I’m no expert!)

Was just about to say this as a Dental Nurse, I worked in Community Dental for a few years and saw so many Paediatric Dental GA's. If taste is a concern for George I would recommend OraNurse, it's flavourless but still contains Fluoride ❤ absolutely love your Videos Shan and I hope this doesn't come across as me being mean, I'm really not trying to be, I am just saying from a Dental Care Professional point of view ❤ xx

Also, if he likes Strawberry flavoured things (I think you mentioned he had a Strawberry one too) the Strawberry Ice Cream flavoured Toothpaste from Tesco is very Mild tasting and has the recommended 1450ppm of Fluoride in 🥰 xx

So my 7 month old has just got his first 2 bottom and top teeth. So I've started with a toothbrush. I was using the lower fluoride for my toddler but I'll swap to a different one should I use the lower one for my baby. Just dont want to have too many different ones. My toddler has always been funny about the minty taste??

Love watching your family, we have kids similar ages just 2 months behind! Also going abroad first time as a family of 4, wish us luck! Tried a few toothpastes like you landed on something with no taste but my dad (retired dentist) let me know that the natural ones don’t contain fluoride which is essential for tooth care. Goes without saying do whatever is right for you but sharing in case you didn’t know like me! X

My son is similar to George and I feel like he goes through periods, like every 6 months or so, when he just is so dysregulated. But it’s like he genuinely can’t help it and his amygdala is on fire. Even he says he doesn’t know why he’s so angry and doesn’t want to be like that. Then there are periods of calm when he is much more capable to control his emotions. That’s why I was reluctant to use rewards for his moods. I don’t know if he can help it. Today he said he was too sad to ask for something nicely. He was shouting ‘please’ 😂 I feel sorry for them, honestly. But if you say that the pom pom jar is actually working I will have to rethink this. 😅 I do agree with you - the general social media advice doesn’t always work and motivation - that being rewards or consequences - is key. Mine definitely responds better to rewards. A battle of wills with him will leave only losers in its wake 😅

Aw you’re honestly such a good Mum Shan!! 🥹💛 I love the reward jar and routine cards! They work amazingly!! I’ve worked with lots of children(now have my own little boy) and have grown up with a brother with SEN needing to use things like this and they have all worked every time for lots of different children whether they have additional needs or not 🙌🏼 you go mumma 🥰 Makaton have lots of free resources on their website too 💕
