Realistic Optimus Linaeum tweeter dissection

Taking about a blown Realistic Optimus Linaeum tweeter to see how it’s made.

Before junking them, soak the coil area with WD-40 and work them through a crossover. It worked for mine.

Did you really trash the parts? Not figure why they were not working? Maybe fluid was too dry? Was coil broken? Which one was pos or neg lead?

I have a tripod. This was supposed to be a quick one minute video before I threw away the trashed parts. I did not have the motivation to do some sort of fancy video on this.

I have a full set of Aura (formerly Linaeum) speakers in a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos system, as well as a set of Aura towers in a 2 channel system. They sound wonderful - much smoother than the Optimus LX-5s, which I also have two sets of.

I think I appreciate their sound. They might have an unexpected sharp presence right at their low crossover point which confuses my ear. Not sure how natural that quality is, unless trying to listen to bird calls

All I know is the louder you play them the better, within reason of course.
