I think these types of conversations are SO important! There are so many young girls out there who might not have anyone to talk to, and hearing older girls talk about these things they might have questions about can be a big help. Thank you so much for always being open and vulnerable and willing to share so much with us. Also, I love chit-chat videos! ❤

I just need to say that thank you so much for making this video and showing how normal it is to talk about your period. It is so taboo and disgusting for some people but i always thought that was so weird of people to say. I have never been able to wear tampons, and pads always made me itch so i started this year with reusable cotton pads and personally they work for me so much better, they make my period so much bearable. I have never had a problem as big as endometriosis but i have had a really heavy flow and bad cramps. A few years ago, i started on birth control pills and that made it also a lot more bearable. I love your videos and have an awesome December Lauren!

On the topic of pads/tampons, I’ve always been a pad girlie, but recently switched to a disc. BEST DECISION EVER. I use the Flex reusable one, and it’s so nice. It does have a learning curve, and can be a bit intimidating, but it’s amazing once you get the hang of it. Highly recommend!

Really appreciate your willingness to talk about periods without shame; it is much needed. Highly recommend checking out period underwear as an alternative to pads. I've found them to be SO much more comfortable (and just better; cause they won't move the way pads do). Can be pricey investment up front, but they're washable so long term, save lots of money. Sometimes the concept makes people hesitant but tbh, as soon as I tried them I never looked back.

Thank you for making this video! Brilliant! I can say that I have always struggled with my period 😢 Mine are super painful. I usually get a lot of pain in the normal spots like abdomen and lower back but weirdly enough also the right thigh (which I know reading this will sound odd) but after researching its apparently common to have pain in your thighs. I used to use heat during my period but after speaking with my doctor who also struggles she recommended using an ice pack (which makes sense as it reduces inflammation and actually can decrease blood flow to numb any pain) but the heat helps with relaxing the muscles. For anyone struggling with cramps and hasn’t tried an ice pack, I highly recommend trying! Love you Lauren! Can’t wait to see all the tips that you suggest/others post 😊

Lauren, these are exactly the kind of videos that we need to see! I want to thank you for taking the step forward and speaking up both about women's healthcare and periods both of which SHOULD NOT be taboo topics. I feel as though not many use pads and they are deemed against. Therefore, I personally think when you are experiencing something that is completely natural you need to do what works best for you, because periods are not easy, especially for some. I speak up strongly for women's rights and period poverty. Though I want to pose this as a warning to everyone who experiences a period be careful of what products you are using as many of them (especially big brand names) have very harmful chemicals in them which in long term harm our health. This also comes more personally as I have always struggled with my periods and similar women's health issues. It feels so good to hear other stories about women having the same problems. On the internet it can be painted a pretty picture when most of the time it is not. Thank you for be honest and raw!

I am having surgery tomorrow for fibroids that have been killing me slowly for many years along with so many symptoms, I am not sure if I have endometriosis, some doctors do not inform things and let us suffer making us think everything is normal. We women have to talk more, get information, ask questions. Weird symptoms are Not normal. We have to speak loudly about it. By the way, Iove love your pink aesthetic🩷 I myself have a few things pink/neutral and I love the girly vibe.

I can empathize with your endo belly experience prior to surgery. I literally cannot wear denim at all and feel limited most days in what even feels comfortable to wear. 1) would you ever consider doing a video on endo fashion and strategizing cute but comfortable outfits for flare days or when you’re literally sizes larger than normal? 2) how soon after your surgery could you wear jeans or normal clothes without feeling uncomfortable? Thank you again for using your platform and experiences to give women resources and words for their experience!

Periods are the WORST.. nothing gross about this video at all! I had a doctor tell me years ago I had endo and she would have to cut me up to see because she said she couldn’t really know for certain (after that blunt of a comment, I found a new gyno). I got a second opinion the doctor was great he actually delivered my daughter. Said pregnancy can actually help with endo symptoms .. it did really help over time and it hasn’t been as bad..fast forward my daughter is almost 3, I still have painful periods (more so recently within the last 6 months), being a woman is TOUGH my best friends and I talk about it all the time based on where we are at in our cycles because it’s so real! Also.. ovira is helpful as well as heating pads for ovary and endo pain. So unfortunate what us women go through! Great video.. loved the McDonald’s! Us women have to unite 😂😂❤

I haven’t had a period in almost 10 years due to my birth control. But from the age of 11, when I first started my period, to 30, when I got Nexplanon, I only ever used pads. I was never a fan of tampons, but I did always feel embarrassed if someone found out that I used pads instead of tampons. I always had a very heavy first couple of days and then it would lighten over the next couple, my periods usually lasted about 4 days. But conversations like these are important to make more mainstream, to where people aren’t embarrassed to talk about it.

just an FYI, my periods started when I was in secondary school in the mid 80s, we had the *thick* pads, no wings, but they did stick to your knickers, then I experimented with the lillets - the applicator-less tampon - the less said the better! and then moved on to the standard tampons in my late teens through to adulthood, with the pad for insurance. Since being diagnosed with crohn's and the fun of those cramps, my periods were horrendous, I got even more anemic [which could be a cause for the excess fatigue BTW], I tried the cup - not great, kept sucking my cervix down and it felt really freaky! I've moved back onto pads - sticking them back to front because I forward flow rather than flow towards the rear and the coverage is better. But the change from the 'cool' and 'trendy' tampons and cups back to the teenage pads can feel like you've been defeated by the period, which is completely not true. We women should be doing what works for us, period. And not what is trendy in Cosmo etc. we have so many more options now than we did in the 80s, I was afraid that I'd have to get the period belt and hook the pad onto that - which was what I was told were my options if I didn't use the new-fangled stick-it-to-your-knickers pad! So you do you Lauren - you rock! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
