Lauren, i am so proud of you for demanding help & answers! My mom (54) had endometriosis her whole life. She suffered horrible symptoms & never was able to receive any real diagnosis. When she was about 40 years old, she went into surgery to remove a cyst that the doctor found on an ultrasound & once they cut her open they found endometriosis so severe that tissue was growing around most of her organs in her lower abdomen, including her colon. Nobody was aware that she had endometriosis at all because they could never see it. Since it was so severe, they had to remove her uterus & reroute her colon for a few months while her organs healed from the tissue that was removed. I was 10 years old at the time & I remember the doctor explaining to my dad that she almost died because she lost so much blood since it was an unexpected surgery. You are so lucky to be aware of your condition & to be receiving help this young. Thank you for spreading awareness to women around the world.

I have endometriosis as well and Lauren you have no idea how much you sharing your story means to me! Three years ago I had my first laproscopy surgery. I did the same thing you did and went to KZbin. There were not a lot of videos and I just know that this video is going to help so many girls! I have watched your videos for years and you have been such an inspiration to me. I also love how you are sharing that you are going to an endometriosis specialist. My OBGYN was my surgeon and had me do absolutely no prep or take any medications before surgery. My OBGYN found my endo and cyst and burned off the endo.. This video is making me think about getting an endometriosis specialist to help me to get better care. Thank you so much for being so real and sharing such encouraging real content! I am praying for healing and that this surgery has really helped you. You are such an inspiration Lauren!! THANK YOU!

I was having severe pain and spotting that made me to go the ER and multiple doctors. No one could find anything wrong. I finally had exploratory surgery, and they found endometriosis and fibroids (the size of oranges). It was so bad my uterus was fusing to my small intestine. It's been so much better since then. Best of luck w/ your recovery.

For anybody waiting for any kind of abdominal surgery... a gas is used to expand your abdomen during surgery to make more space for the surgeon to work in. This causes bloating and gas pain as Lauren has shared. You do want to avoid small things like drinking from a straw because you're sucking in air and that can make the pain worse. I have an ileostomy, which means a portion of my bowel has been pulled out through my abdomen and sewn to the outside. My surgeon and specialist nurse advised against drinking from a straw, drinking fizzy drinks, talking while eating etc because you are creating more gas. A tip for coughing, sneezing, and standing up is to press a pillow against your abdomen. It can aid with the pain. Keep on top of your pain medication even if you feel you can manage without because you don't want that pain to build and become harder to control. You can use heat to ease your pain but be cautious. If you are using a hot water bottle, put some cold water in it so it is not too hot. Your scars can blister from the heat and because your nerve endings have been cut you may not feel the surface of your skin. Lauren, I hope that you are feeling better, although I am not certain on the expected recovery time for your surgery x

Thank you so much for sharing your journey, you are such a blessing. I've been told that I might have PCOS and/or might have endo but never have been given the option of getting answers for the pain just told that well it might be hard to have kids again. My husband and I also lost our son after birth, in Aug. of 2020, the pregnancy was so traumatizing, and the interactions with some doctors were horrible. I have avoided doctors as much as possible ever since. You are the reason I decided to make an appt. with a specialist and move forward with finding answers. Oh wow...I'm at the point of listening to the prep and this was NOT the same as my surgery several years ago. I know there was preparation I had to do and it wasn't pleasant, but this was just so much. I hope I never have to go through this surgery again because girl, you are better than me. I don't think I could do it. Watching you go through the healing process brought back SO many memories. I thought I was going to be back to normal after the first week and I couldn't have been more wrong. My endometriosis was everywhere from what my doctor told me and I had a 13CM endometrioma that ended up bursting in surgery, so there was more healing after. BEST decision ever, even though it took the full two weeks to be able to go back to my more normal life. My quality of life is night and day and I'm so thankful to the doctor who literally saved my life. I'm so happy that you've gotten answers and are on your way to a better quality of life. 💗💗

I just had my surgery last week as well. Ironically, my mom found Lauren’s page just following KZbin, but I went through almost the same experience. I’m 24 and was diagnosed with PCOS and hydrosalpinx (enlarged fluid filled fallopian tubes) last year in October. My tubes were on the verge of rupture, so I had surgery in January to remove the most affected one, but my OB surgeon then left my other damaged tube and neglected an MRI diagnosis of endo, so the pain just got worse. Like you I sought a top specialist in endometriosis, determining the other tube in fact needed to come out and endometriosis stage 2. Frustrated that I had multiple surgeries cause my first surgeon neglected to do his job and gaslight my pain and symptoms, but it’s only up from here for us!💛🤍

Just had a laparoscopy done on March 15th too, after always having severe periods and suffering and suffering and I didn’t ever really mention it much either because it wasn’t worth it, I didn’t want to be gaslit like I was on everything else. I just suffered and dealt with it until I couldn’t. I’m fortunate enough though that I know my family history, my mother had endometriosis, fibroids and ovarian cysts as well, and my mom and her mom both have had hysterectomy surgeries done. I knew this and this was my saving grace moving forward, my mother was my biggest advocate and helping me speak up about this and not settling for anything less. Fortunate enough my OBGYN was amazing and that is who did my laparoscopy and she mentioned she did find it but had to have it cultured to confirm and of course indeed it was exactly that. She did remove it for me as well. I’m hanging in there and managing what to do next for my endometriosis to treat it and keep it at bay, I’m starting Luprin injections, and my golly gosh, don’t start that medication without insurance, because a three month injection is over $5,100! I’m not even JOKING! I just about died and I’m fortunate enough I’m having quite a bit of it covered for now. And I’m just focusing on trying to keep my “plumbing” as some refer to it as, so that I’m still maybe able to try once or twice to conceive my own child.

Other than the semi sad music, I really appreciated how light hearted this video was. I'm having surgery in a few weeks for endometriosis and cyst. Unfortunately my endometriosis has destroyed my fallopian tubes so there's also a chance I will be having mine removed. I've been really sad lately and looking for others' experiences with endo and surgery. Instagram posts were too depressing and decided to try youtube. Your video definitely helped put some of my nervousness at ease. I'm sorry you didn't get to stay in a hospital): my surgeon already said he keeps his patients over night so they can be observed and get help with using the bathroom or pain meds. I'll definitely be using all the help I can get so my bf doesn't have to do too much until we get home!

I’m currently experiencing something similar where I know something is wrong but doctors aren’t taking it seriously. It’s the worst. So so so glad you got answers and that you’re healing well! 💛🦋

I hope your recovery has been easy! This just brought back so many memories of my surgery that I had last year to help diagnose my endo, it is definitely something, the gas pain in the shoulders was the worse for me, but it gets better! You are so strong and thank you for sharing, the more we share the more people can be prepared! Wish I had something like this before my surgery

💛🌷 Truly so happy for you that you have answers and validation. Im sorry you suffered for so long while being ignored and mistreated. As someone who has gone through my own horrible experiences with our health care and being gaslit, I feel your pain in my soul. No one deserves that pain. Praying for your continued recovery and healing, physically and emotionally. Hugs Lauren 💕

My 3rd surgery getting my cysts remove was the worst recovery. I ended up staying the night in the hospital because of how bad the pain was and then after being home for 2 days I had to go back to the hospital and was anemic and had to get two blood transfusions. It definitely is different depending on the person and the intensity of the surgery. I had 3 surgeries to get cysts removed and have endometriosis and the recovery for all three surgeries was different. The most painful part was the gas pain in your shoulders and the getting up and down for sure. I hope you have a speedy recovery and if you ever need anyone to talk to about it, I am here for you as I have been through it multiple times! ❤

💛🎉 Loved this. Wish I had creators or anyone talk about this. One of the scariest moment of my life was this surgery at 13 and another at 14. Having normal periods with no crazy symptoms 9 years later after getting off birth control. You are encouraging! This needs to be talked about more.

Everyone needs Will and his mum ❤. I have had a similar thing, less severe and I know the pain. You are kicking butt girl ❤️❤️. We love the raw Lauren. I know it’s a while since the surgery but as someone with allergies to adhesive - dymista nasal spray and an antihistamine hep SO much with that itching.
