bro i am having an issue with octane render , when i open octane node editor it doesn't show the attributes panel on the right side , what should i do
@TheDizzyViper3 жыл бұрын
Do you have octane 2020? bc if so you will have the attributes inside the node itself. you can change that by going to your octane settings>nodes and unchecking "embedded GUI"

Great tutorial but after following each of your steps, once I apply the material my puddle maps don't look like puddles or 'wet patches' they appear to be overlayed on the texture leaving only the outline of the puddle on the base surface so I guess they are there but they don't reflect the same as yours :/
@TheDizzyViper3 жыл бұрын
Hmm that seems weird. I do remember having that issue sometimes actually, have you tried restarting octane? sometimes it wont update correctly and only change one of the two Maps. If that doesnt help, maybe try my new tutorial i released a few weeks ago :)
@ty19783 жыл бұрын
@@TheDizzyViper Thank you for getting back, yes it was an update issue. I had to remove the plain I was working on then add a plain back in and re-apply the material and it worked fine after that :) thanks again!
@kiriakostzouanakos23935 жыл бұрын
Nice one! But what about if i want to use displacement map in the mix texture?
@TheDizzyViper5 жыл бұрын
if you have a displacement texture it would be more convenient to use a seperate Wet material plane that goes though the Main Material Plane so you get puddles where the displacement texture is the Lowest. Otherwise you can also you this same technique and just plug the displacement texture into the Displacement tab channel of your Mixmaterial. Idealy you can also mix the Displacement map with a float texture by the amount of the puddles. that way you have your displacement details where there are no puddles but completely Flat surface inside your puddles, so the puddles dont get roughened by the Displacement map
@kiriakostzouanakos23935 жыл бұрын
@@TheDizzyViper That was really helpfull! I couldn't figure out myself how to not have displacement on the puddles. Thanks!

thanks i absolutely love ALL your tutorials! i am having a hard time with the scaling of the texture. I tried using transform node and messing with the size of the plane, but i couldnt seem to get it to look right... do you have a tip for that?

hmm that seems weird. make sure that you always change the transform values of both puddle maps

@@r2r_vfx188 well like i said, im not losing anything by you doing that. the packs that i sell contain way more maps. and you taking a screenshot of this video is something that i dont really care about. Its like saying "lol i can just make my own in ps", nobody said you cant. I sold roughly 2000 of these packs in the last 6 months, so i know theyre worth it. but like i said, you can do what ever you want with that map
