Me too!!! I like the balance. Honestly stress affects my running a lot, but I can always lift, even when I am tired

I ran Philly Marathon for my 45th and Philly half for my 50th. It's the best way to celebrate another trip around the 🌞! Stop by again to let us know how your training is going!

I've seen your race posts on Instagram. Looking forward to the recap. Just now started following you on Strava. I don't know what took me so long to do that though.

That seemed like a pretty gentle week 1 and I'll be interested in seeing how it develops. I know that you're going to crush it! Hang in there with those threshold runs.😄

This plan is definitely light on mileage but the long runs are a beast. I have a 12 miler this weekend with 4 at marathon pace. But because it's lighter on mileage I feel like they can be done. If this works I am never going back to higher mileage lol
@largeeddie3 ай бұрын
@@IRunThings I think that it's definitely possible to run the speed out of our legs by grinding out too many miles, and that it's entirely possible that I've been doing that myself.😁Hoping for decent weather for your long run this weekend although I don't know what the chances of that are. That seems like a walk in the park for you if not for these tough summer conditions, with all of the marathons and half marathons you've run. Fingers crossed.🤞

@largeeddie I find that it's never a walk in the park and the more pressure you put on yourself the less a walk in the park. I really enjoy going into races with a we'll see what we can do. I am done putting too much pressure on myself

@@IRunThings 💯All you can do is all you can do! I'm pretty sure that the benefits of training come from effort rather than results, and if you do your best on the day then that's always enough, even more for training than racing. It's still early in the build and it's the middle of July. NBD if your marathon pace now isn't quite what you're aiming for in the races. Just keep showing up.
@IRunThings3 ай бұрын
@largeeddie yeah. You are right. I have had training blocks in which I've hit pace in runs but not in the race and vice-versa. I'll do my best and hope stars line up a bit the day of the race

I had no idea there was an Atlantic City Marathon! I was thinking about doing the Ocean City 10 miler because I don’t know if I’d be ready for a half yet. Even 10 miles might be too much for me in September. I don’t handle heat well. But the 10K in October in AC might be really manageable. Maybe I’ll see you in AC! I’m a mid-50s NJ fan!

The 10k is Saturday I believe. Double check but I think that is true. The Marathon is Sunday. But I will do a meetup probably Friday at the expo.🙂 It would be nice to meet others running this

Does the ben parkes plan have run walk? Btw you may consider getting a phone holder for you car. It looks so risky changing the gears with the opposite hand
@IRunThings3 ай бұрын
Ben Parkes doesn't have a run walk. I walk when I have to keep my HR down on easy runs, and I usually do it at fixed intervals
