Bass fishing from the bank with a wacky rig is easy enough for a beginner. This simple rig can catch you bass even if you don't have a boat. With a hook and a stick worm, you can start today. A weedless hook, and an o-ring can add protection from snags and help your worm last longer. In this video, a fish steals my first worm right off the hook! After this I am able to catch a few bass in shallow water. The Wacky Rig is great for bass fishing whether you are a beginner or just looking for fish from the bank.

@@aaa3d473 I use them and see zero difference in the number I catch. I do find that the Dingers are far more durable. Fishing here in the Northeast they are probably just not as selective.

Lol posted almost the identical comment before reading through and finding several with the same opinion. Just a good all around company that has been around awhile, and can get huge packs as well. They actually make these little tube style craws, I'll link if I find them. Got a bag awhile back in the green with orange belly and those crappie nibbles stuck inside the tube belly, or injected in with an injector, makes an amazing slow jig.

Bass Nazi oh yeah! For sure. I was killing them last summer in the Christie craw in summer gill color. I’ve finally gotten to the point where I realize that most companies produce items to “catch” fisherman,as well as fish. When you realize that brands like yum, zoom, missile baits etc,all make AMAZING products at an affordable price point, you kinda regret spending all the loot on big name brands haha. Yum makes a dinger color for field and stream, exclusively. It’s called “tinfoil chartreuse” and it absolutely wears the summer bass out on a neko rig.

@@honkeykong85 that's the key, it's not to say it's not many out there that will work...but that's it...many work lol. My pb came on a Ozark Trail silver black backed jerkbait that is dirt cheap, not to say i haven't caught huge ones on more expensive ones. I still try to keep it reasonable though because I think Jimmy Houston says it alot, if your not snagging your lure, your not fishing the right spots. When you are so worried your gonna lose your lure, you tend to not fish them as well, either by not throwing them as often or in the shady spots. Especially people just starting out, after you have learned how to feel what's going on with the lure you can kinda keep from hanging as much. Another great one that is easy to find and cheap is that new Berkley Skinny Cutter 110 with the coffin shaped bill, I hope they bring it out in a deeper version. Think it's the Tennessee shad color with the foil strip down it...puts off great sound and that unique bill gives it good action even if you just cast it out and burn it straight in with no action.

@@honkeykong85 and I don't get the bias on some stock hooks, those Fusion hooks Berkley has feel pretty good to me lol. The Ozark Trail one brought in that ten lber with its cheap stock hardware, though they do rust quick. Tackle Advisors actually shared an EBay link for some amazing trebled that are cheap, and I found some from the same supplier that have the outbarb hooks that work great on jerkbaits since they tend to hook those quick slashing type hits.

Cut a 3/8 inch piece of plastic straw and then cut it down the center. Slip the straw over the center of the worm. Hook the worm the usual way but through the straw with the slit facing up. This will make a little plastic "saddle" around the worm and make it stronger.

I have a four year old, and when I am not helping him catch bluegill, my fishing time is almost nill, and confined to a pressured pond in the middle of an office park. Nothing like the wacky rig to produce when nothing else does. If things get really tough, will go wild and use hot pink. No one else is throwing it, and gets a bite in a pinch. Also switch it up and use an octopus hook and nose hook a tiny Senko. Its almost weedless, and the difference in presentation will turn them on when they are not interested in anything else. Keep up the great work for the regular Joe Six-packs out there!

I have bought those Eagle Claw weedless hooks after seeing you use them in past vids. Dirt cheap and effective. Thanks for the suggestion. Some tips to your watchers from my experience: They are brittle and they rust quick. Dry them off after use and that helps. Put them away wet and you can toss them in the trash they rust so bad.

Learned the wacky rig from you and it really is a lot of fun to fish. I like fishing it weightless just like you did here and I start a count in my head...pop, let it fall, pop, fall...sometimes I will give it a weird irregular erratic pop. I guess in my mind im thinking that makes it look injured then it gets a burst of energy and I hope the fish is afraid it's prey will escape. 😅

Hey Alex great strike reaction time on that second and fourth bass that could mean the difference between bringing them in and watching them swim away again great video keep it realistic

Great video, Alex. I prefer the fingers over all of them.

I usually go full monty with the weedless hooks and the O-ring so the stick lasts longer and doesn't tear off on the cast. My next step is to try those Flip Flops in a wacky or neko rig. Also, I realized why your PO address looked so familiar. A few years back I inspected a BSA camp not far from there. Nice property, great fishing. It's right on the river.

Another great realistic video. I’m going to have to try some of the gear you be using. I been out three times this year and haven’t caught nothin.

I literally *just* bought a pack of these on Amazon the other day for $2.99. I caught a tiger trout on one this morning, oddly enough. I've missed 3 good sized bass (at least 3 lbs by my estimate). They're a bit oily, but for the price I'm not going to complain. It beats paying $7-8 for some Yamamoto ones that are very similar. Way to keep it realistic.

Loved the video. Just a suggestion, maybe use a small octopus circle hook for your wacky rig. Its a small profile and the hook pretty much hooks the fish without you having to do much

I have used them in other videos, but they snag on sticks in the water. This style does not.

I was so inti using the Texas rigged that I wouldn't try wacky. Then I landed my first fish on the wacky and it was a smallie. Now I'm in Arkansas landed huge bass on the wacky

Another fun video, and some great catches! The birdsong in the background was lovely. Anybody know what species that was? I haven't heard anything like it up here in Ontario.
