Today I challenge myself to go bass fishing and catch something with lures sent to the show. This box of lures was sent by Fishing with Lard Almighty. It includes a good assortment of fishing lures including a Rebel Pop R, Yum Dingers, a spinnerbait, and others. The first night I try the popper and a boat decides its cool to just fish right over me. So I get frustrated and give up. The next morning I try the yum dingers and manage to catch a few bass! Despite the jerks in the boat, I managed to have a good time with the challenge of fishing for bass with lures sent to the show.

Not only do I really enjoy the realistic flair (no googan squad pun intended) of your presentations of fishing, but I'm also a big fan of the example you set regarding stewardship of the parks and waterways you fish. You're not just preaching, you are leading by example. What a great thing for younger anglers to see. Bravo! Tight lines.

I have had boaters pull right up on me and fish right where I am too! A few times they would literally cast right over my line. It’s complete ignorance but I can’t afford to snap and go the F off so now I just stop stand back and pray till they leave. Your the better man for just moving on ! Thanks

RF, your choice of the Dinger was the optimum, slow presentation lure for lethargic summer bass. With the help of a little wind blowing onto the bank, the fish were more active than the night before. One other comment: the fish in your lake look well fed and healthy. Keep it real, Don

Love your videos man. My favorite fishing videos to watch. You have to get on the spinnerbait and chatterbait bite though! Anytime there is chop on the water, start throwing either one. At night they shine as well. Colorado blades are the best at night, they make a great thump. Chatterbaits as well at night are great. Parallel lilly pads and weed edges and fan cast. Chuck and wind but slow at night. As slow as you can get with those blades thumping. During the day I like to burn spinnerbaits. Especially in windy and overcast conditions.

Realistic Fishing they truly don’t outperform the classic spinnerbait or lipless crank. There is a company now producing just the blade attachment,which can be attached to a Texas rig. At what point are the baits catching more fisherman than fish?

The Senko type bait has changed bass fishing as much as anything..But, I still have confidence that my big fish (4-6.5lbs) will come from a blue/black jig with craw trailer.. IME-Spinner baits work best with a chop on the water.. The chop breaks up the fishes line of sight.. I use them in a lake without much cover and always choppy water..The bass are spooky and usually hit something moving quick...Good video...

Josh Morrison gotta totally keep an eye out at Wal-Mart and other big box stores. I think every Chatterbait I've got I paid less than half for when they were marked down lol. Even the spinnerbaits and the Rebel stuff usually gets dropped. Got a Mouse colored War Eagle spinner for half two weeks back there and it's been doing great. It's coming up on the best time of year to really load up.

@bassnazi4713
@bassnazi4713 6 жыл бұрын
Jason Reyes yep, Cotton Cordell is another very underrated brand for what you get, too. The Whopper Plopper thing is funny to me with how many are so pissed at Berkley for coming out with their version. I mean literally every company has a knockoff of another company's original, plus at least it's cheaper, and probably will actually be in stores available instead of out of stock for the first 6 months. Plus there are a ton of people that still don't order lures, so having it in the stores will help more.
@bassnazi4713
@bassnazi4713 6 жыл бұрын
Jason Reyes yeah, the Jointed Rapala's do really well here in Bama. Their newer one the Ripstop had really impressed me since it come out as well. I love them, just wish they would come out with them slightly larger, well several of their lures really. The BX series are nice too. There is a show called Made in the Outdoors that showed them making their fillet knives last season, might be on here too. I am really tempted to order one of their decorative Rapala' s that's like 3ft long on their site to hang in the room I'll be using for all my indoor vids on here.
@bassnazi4713
@bassnazi4713 6 жыл бұрын
Jason Reyes lol yeah, TVA plays a big role here. I'm on Pickwick, with several between until you hit Guntersville. The whole Tennessee River basically was cut into huge impoundments. Pickwick actually starts here in Muscle Shoals/Florence but meanders down into Mississippi/Tennessee. All in all very large stretches, tricky though in comparison and something that messes up the best of the pro's is having to deal with the dam schedule. Almost always if they are dropping the water, fish shut off completely at times.

Nice! Although i normally don't like them much, spinnerbaits have been killing it here in North Alabama. I had picked up a Mike McClellan Finesse War Eagle in the Mouse color on clearance at Wal-Mart and have already had a few over 5lbs and quiet a bit smaller, even a big ole white bass. That Rebel Pop-R will really do great when you see shad up around the bank.

Realistic Fishing were you having a bad day yesterday??? I tried to give you a suggestion and you told me you didn’t even read my comment.... then I tried to explain myself and you told me to google the definition of “should”? Not cool man. I was trying to give you some advice on something to try. Not sure what I did wrong, if you are in tough times I hope you get through 👍
@RealisticFishing
@RealisticFishing 6 жыл бұрын
Did you look up the word should? If not, you "should" . Its used to show obligation or duty, especially when criticizing someone. And I am doing fine, especially when people aren't telling me what I should be doing. Suggestions don't include the word "should" Example: "You should shut up" Does that sound like a suggestion? I like advice that is presented as such, but bossy people get on my nerves. Hence - When I see "You should" ... I kinda stop reading. Its nothing personal... you "should" understand that. 👍
@seancurtin6572
@seancurtin6572 6 жыл бұрын
Realistic Fishing I get what you are saying... I will try to be careful of my wording. I used a different definition of the word “should”, and I guess that caused confusion. Got 4 this morning myself. Including my first on a Whopper Popper about 2 lb. I couldn't believe how hard it was to get the hooks out. Had replaced the treble hooks on the Whopper Popper with some a little larger and with the hook points slightly turned in. When it got really light, switched to a lightweight spinning rig and got three on a broken back black and silver Rapala. Was staying away from worms and challenging myself to use other baits.

Sometimes you have to go back to basics. A senko wacky rigged is a great go to bait. People try so hard to catch a fish on a certain lure, but a Texas rig or simple worm and bobber is all you need to catch anything.

After fishing for years and dealing with boaters being like that, the best way to deal with them is to just stand your ground and fish. It's not like they don't know what they are doing to you, they just don't care. Most know that shore fishermans would just move when they come along and that's why many people do it. Next time just keep fishing. If they annoy you, its only fair to annoy them back a bit.

Dude I LOVE those yum dingers! I’m glad I am not the only one that struggles with a chatterbait. I have fished that sucker a lot and haven’t caught a thing. Nice catches on the dinger.

Realistic Fishing I have just put it away for awhile. May just hafta get it back out again. Those ponds from today’s upload usually react well to swimbaits so maybe they will like the chatter.

HoosierbackOD i use to have trouble with it too but what i found is that i have a few ponds i like to go to and the one with smaller fish i never get bit on. But the other one has muddy water and ohhhh boy the fish are big so it may be muddy water or it may be bigger fish bu thats just my experience using the chatterbait

Hope to see the alter ego "Bromanson" again soon, might of got that spelling wrong. I also hope to see you back on you're boat if you still have it. Take care Alex.

That hundred pound test reminded me of when spiderwire's braided line first came out. my friend put 80 lb test on his fishing reel. He got snagged and kept pulling and pulling and it finally broke one of the barbs off on the hook and it shot straight into his leg. He had to get the lure cut out of his leg. Lol...

If you want to run light line for drop shot the wacky rig I prefer having 15 pound braid to a 8 pound florocarbon leader but you can see the braid when a fish is on

Those Yum Dingers are my favorite worms to use, I mostly use the 5 and 6 inch versions, I do have some 4 in versions also. I really like that slit, it gives the hook point a place to lay when I don't whacky rig, making it more weedless. I think my favorite out of that box is the 3.8 in fat tail Kietech, I have caught bass, pickerel, panfish, and snakeheads on that one, I also use the 4.8 in version.

Realistic Fishing believe it or not crappie will if you catch it when they are gathered up to spawn. Usually takes the larger ones though but I've caught them on some pretty big jerkbaits and larger cranks before too. About the largest of the panfish though, with their mouths.

I was asking RWA what he caught. I already get a crappie on a keitech, so I was asking to see if he got something else like a giant gill or something. 😅

On my channel I have a video titled "Big action from little fish", on it I show a palm sized crappie on the 3.8 in Keitech, along with small bass and small chain pickerel. I have caught a panfish(not sure what type) on that lure, but it was before I started recording to start my KZbin channel.

Actually, I have also found out that 4" Yum Dingers or 4" Senko's make good jig and chatterbait trailers. Good wiggle on a chatterbait and the bass hang on longer to the soft part of the bait as you set the hook.
