I am a recently retired physician. Years ago when I first started work, an elderly gentleman came in with a horn like this. Not quite as big as this woman’s. He complained that when he put on his hat if he bumped it, it would start to bleed around the base. Brimming with self-confidence, I went ahead and removed it under local anesthesia in the office. As a routine I sent it in for pathology. It turned out that it was squamous cell cancer, and I had not taken very generous margins around the lesion. We agreed that he would watch it closely and would come back and we would photograph it. Make sure it wasn’t changed in size and so on. As it turned out a few inches away on his scalp he had another one of these. Perhaps about a quarter of the size of the first one. Given that the first one did turn out to be cancer I recommended that we take this one off as well. And again, because the first one had been a cancer, on removing the second one, I took quite a generous amount of tissue around it. So generous, in fact that I had difficulty closing the incision. It was like he was getting a facelift with his ears being pulled up as I tried to suture it together. Having just started practicing a small town, I would’ve been mortally embarrassed if I had to send him to a plastic surgeon to get it grafted. In any case, we did close and I crossed my fingers, and gave them all the warnings about it. The second lesion did turn out to be not cancer. 10 years later, I was watering my driveway, cleaning it, and this elderly man came up the driveway, and it turned out to be this very gentleman. He took his hat off, and everything healed fine, and no further trouble had developed.

God Bless You Dr. Lee (Sandra)!!! You are a true blessing to your patients - and very, very often you are also a blessing to those of us watching your videos. We get to see how compassionate you are to your patients and how you compassion is not changed by their skin problems (no matter how "gross" that the common/un-educated folks (like me) might be by the problem). It provides a valuable lesson to us that we need to be compassionate and not be judgmental (for we never really know what challenges other people are enduring on a daily basis). Your lesson goes far beyond skin conditions and pertains to all physical and mental challenges that people are facing. Thanks you so much for opening our eyes and our hearts ❤❤❤ -Greg C., Ph.D.

So glad she got some help! I've had a moment like that when the doctor walks in 😭. It's like part sadness, embarrassment, and then relief bc you are getting help...then the tears come down.

Love how Lee always talks through the diagnosis in way that patient understands; she dont just deal with the symptoms but the cause an helps patients t understand their condition. It was disgusting etc; good new f this beautiful lady; so glad it turned out well.. Doc Lee is very reassuring an positive an never leaves the patient up in the air. Wish she lived in my country; she's beautiful both inside an out.
