Just leaving this comment on the chance someone will read it and change their opinion about hoarders. This house could be my mother’s house. My mother is a kind, hard working, generous and extremely damaged lady. The shame she feels doesn’t outweigh the comfort she gets from having her “stuff” close by. Her abusive childhood led to an inability to let things go. Like this lady, she isn’t lazy or someone who likes living in squalor, she just doesn’t know how to live like an ordinary person. The reality is that hoarding is just a symptom of a much deeper problem and can’t be solved by cleaning up or “not being lazy”. Comments like this just add to the shame and stop people getting help. I hope this lady was able to get the help she needs to continue with the rest of the house.

She’s a lovely artist. It’s so heartbreaking that she fell victim to hoarding. It’s a horrendous feeling to know that you’re losing control of your surroundings while you want to be in a clean space but be unable to toss anything away

Really want to give Wenda a hug. She seems so lovely. She is clearly hurting a lot, and hoarding is her coping mechanism. I hope she's doing better now. ❤

She's a lovely artist. A cluttered room is suffocating, I can imagine what a relief that was for her. Those sisters are such gems aww. I love this show but I always worry about them being about to keep it clean afterwards. I hope she has friends or family to help her.

I think quite a few of these lovely people would benefit from help for their mental health alongside the cleaning service. I can’t imagine the average person letting things get this bad with no background of other issues going on. Bless the cleaning professionals who do this work - what a difference it makes!

They need to put glasses on as well to protect their eyes ! They doing so well eventhough with all the dirt that they r smelling, touching and seeing. What I love about them is they have good souls and they just keep laughing and joking while working in order to set a good work mood. We r so blessed cuz there is some poeple who can do the work that we need to do ourselves for ourselves.

Seems to be typically more common with people that live alone, especially those that don't have many visitors. Not necessarily the hoarding, but the living in a mess. Especially if depression starts to kick in. People start to feel worthless and the cleaning and tidying starts to seem more and more pointless. People lose sight of the fact that a clean, tidy, organised home does such a HUGE amount for your mental health, it's unbelievable. Hoarding does seem to be a different thing though, it wouldn't be much of a surprise if this house was back to how it was by now.
