What gets me is how they go off about "Cultural Appropriation" and attack someone for having a restaurant that makes food, or wearing some clothing, a hair style, etc., from a different ethnicity. They act like that is an abomination. Yet they'll have no problem with blatantly stealing from others with plagiarism and other things. It must be nice to be "morality fluid"!

My tech writing professor jumped my shit when I pointed out that my Arab group member plagiarized their whole section of our paper. I was the a-hole, apparently. I was so pissed. @adamroach3407 the annoying part is they were getting a free pass because of the amount of tuition they paid. The chancellor and his lackeys were more than happy to turn a blind eye. not Heisenberg principle but the Observer Effect or Hawthorne Effect
@yellingintothewind
@yellingintothewind Ай бұрын
Not Heisenberg's uncertainty, not even the generalized uncertainty principle. It's the observer effect. The generalized uncertainty principle gives only the absolute lower bound in the uncertainty in simultaneous values _calculated_ (not observed) through quantum mechanics. And that lower bound is _tiny_ (on the order of ℏ). It has nothing to do with observations of _anything_ made through classical mechanics. It is often confused with the Observer Effect, since the latter isn't associated with a cool sounding name. The observer effect is something that comes up not _just_ in quantum mechanics, but all of science. The act of observing, or the steps necessary for the observation, necissarily changes the effect observed, often in a fundamental way. This is entirely different from not being able to precisely _measure_ the effect, the effect itself is changed.

There are homages, covers, and clones in music, none of that necessarily makes the art bad. It can often be well received, the issue therein; whether in music or in other forms of art of writing, is in dishonesty. In terms of hip hop, it isn’t making a claim, it’s trying to sound good for what it is; it isn’t dishonest. Likewise a rock or metal band can be retro or worship of an older sound, but again, as it’s honest about what it is, that isn’t a problem. In these cases being discussed, the person in question is lying for financial gain. Simply not the same thing by any stretch of the imagination.

The irony is that Walter White acted one way when being observed by "authority" and was actually a piece of garbage.

It seems nothing happens at all to people who steal ideas or plagiarize. Look at Disney; completely stole the entire idea for the lion king from a Japanese guy. The guy came up with it in the 60's. Disney threatened to sue the guy when he was going to make a movie.

I mean, how hard is it to just site your work in your paper? Or you're writing most everything we read. There's a whole reference section. That has all the places where they got the information they used to build their paper. And then why is it so difficult? Because it's people live in states of delusion and grandeur and godlike complexes is why cause I live in fantasy land just like people with narcissistic personality disorder. You're a bit around one of those people. Yeah, they don't want to live in reality. They want to force you to live in their fake reality. That's a lot of fun
