On Maryland's Eastern Shore a couples romantic getaway turns lethal when a man dies in a deadly blaze, although all of the evidence suggests a tragic accident, a routine investigation uncovers some trouble details. In Florida, an apparently healthy woman dies in her home and examiners can find nothing to explain her death, although police suspect murder, years will pass before forensic technology can tell investigators what really happened.

In 1977 I met Dr. Frederick Rieders. At that time I worked for a national commercial reference laboratory and we were looking for a toxicology lab to acquire. It was convenient that my parents lived near Willow Grove, PA so I was able to combine a family visit with business. Dr. Rieders wasn't interested in selling his lab at that time, so my company and Dr. Rieders entered into a business agreement that which involved referring forensic specimens to him. What a surprise it is to watch a program like this and realize I had met a key person in the story.

I knew the second he said to have Kay "taken straight to the funeral home" that if he didn't do it himself directly that he knew who did. Although one thing that bothers me about this case is that Dr. Cybers stated that Kay had a FAMILY HISTORY of heart disease and diabetes, but didn't specifically state that KAY herself had either, so wouldn't it have made sense to look at the overall family medical history as well in order to validate that statement? I also have an overall family history of diabetes despite not having it myself, so it is possible for a person's family to have a history of a given illness without having it themselves.

The life insurance motive in the first case is a motive that keeps appearing in these videos. There is a perception (admittedly it may be an onerous one) that Americans are somewhat litigious - however if this perception is correct then I'm surprised that someone has not brought forward a class action against insurance companies for the loss for loved ones. Only the insured should be able to purchase a policy against ones own life.

Does anyone see something incongruous about a suspected murderer only be allowed outside of his home to see his attorney and go to church? In watching these shows, I've been surprised at how many of the killers are "religious" family men - what's up with that?
@AMunoz-rh9cz
@AMunoz-rh9cz 3 жыл бұрын
It's part of the cover they present to other people as well as a way they justify their wrongdoing: " I'm saved and so the Lord forgives me all." In some communities, church attendance is a cultural or social necessity in order to be seen as an upstanding member of their town or social circle. Church membership is also extremely useful for making business connections. None of it has anything to do with seeing religion as a means of becoming a better person or pushing one's self to become more ethical or compassionate. Great way to get a break from house arrest. Judges are under at least some duress to allow this in the same manner that jails are required to honor religious dietary restrictions. Quite a joke isn't it?

I'm lost on the first story of Kim killing her husband. The injection was to paralyze him, it didn't kill him. The police said he had no smoke inhalation in lungs, but he should have had some as he died during the fire. Something missing in that story.

Suxamethonium Chloride paralyzes the muscles, including the thoracic diaphragm, which means the victim could not inhale that smoky air, or any air for that matter.

How do you undertake an autopsy after a body has been prepared for burial? There is no insides left or blood in the body?
