But for the most part, the public views Bill as the poster child for the left and Limbaugh for the right, making them both polarizing figures. I think the president made a calculated decision to avoid Bill's show because he didn't want to deal with the political backlash.

I believe in the last year, I've seen Maher bash Obama more than I ever heard Limbaugh bash Bush, McCain, Romney, etc in the last 15 years. I've never heard any conservative be lambasted more than once from Limbaugh. If the overall view of these two Maher is the symbol of the left, and Limbaugh is the symbol of the right, then people aren't really paying attention.
