There's always some kinda thought piece about how "THE REAL PROBLEM WITH ________ IS..." and conveniently...it's _always_ the same cause the activist has. What a coincidence. People always find a way to make this about them. *Update* 03/29/22: You can now add the Will Smith Chris Rock debacle to the list which is now about race, toxic masculinity, the patriarchy, gender, class or anything else activists need it to be about for their wordpress. Howard _fucking_ Stern equated Will Smith to Donald Trump. Talk about living rent free. This really goes along with Frank Bruni's comment in another segment on how people immediately jump into a caricature of themselves when they communicate. It also shows what I've been saying about people for years. Something I've deduced while teaching for the past 30 years. People develop themselves into their own brand, their identity, their "thing" and engage with the world within this very closed-minded perspective. Add commerce to this, by way of taking this image/identity/brand and producing content on social media for an audience, and ultimately for money, and you've got the makings of a really unhealthy society.
@mokshamishka61012 жыл бұрын
and it all seems to have been planned and set up that way to control us 🤔
@MathematicalCowboy2 жыл бұрын
What do you teach? Yes, American society is very unhealthy. It's sad. But it won't change any time soon. That's just who we've become. Reminds me of the book, "Twilight of American Culture", written by Morris Berman. I think the book was first published in the late 1990's or maybe early 2000's, but its content is still extremely relevant. It's actually quite depressing how every special interest group in American society puts its own spin on world events that ultimately really have nothing to do with them. American Narcissism at work again. It's all about me. It's all about us. Sad, just sad.
