Realtree Hang On Treestand - Review

The paracord trick was great, smart. I have several of these put out on my farm, because they are cheap but when I go public or out of state I use an XOP, lightweight truly run and gun setup

I put a rachet strap hook on a piece of rope that is doubled over and loose ends are tied. Then wrap around the tree and pull the hook through between the rope ends. Slide it up as you need it, pull it tight, then pull up your stand. I have a piece of 550 cord loop on mine I put on the hook. It holds it in place while I strap it to the tree. It's easier than a bow hanger and you can adjust it easier. Just food for thought.

@@patrickbateman6995 I normally tie one to my stand and leave it if I’m going to leave a stand in one spot for long periods of time.

@@JarredMurphyOutdoors I tie mine off to my stand too. I also leave mine long and during rut, I tie 3 sheds to it where they just touch the ground. That way I can tug on the string making them rattle together and hit leaves and sticks down below. Adds realism of a fight and makes the sound come from ground level rather than from in the tree. Just wondering if you do this already or have thought about it.

Great review I have my brothers hand me down aluminum stand that’s so similar it’s old and the strap is same way and has rust on it . I use one heavy duty strap like line mans strap at bottom and ratchet strap at top it has two back support bars so I hook into each side as at my age I don’t want to hit the ground

Since the top strap is sewn on, how are you using the harbor freight straps? Where are you hooking the new straps hooks on that side? Thanks bud.

I cut the top strap off. The brackets that held it are slotted and ratchet strap hooks will fit in them. On the bottom of the stand I hook the straps on the frame close to the teeth that grip the tree.

The strap on mine decided it didn’t want to hold my weight (250lbs) and kept slipping before I even got fully on it, I just decided to use 2 old orange ratchet strap belts

They come separate. For whatever reason not all Walmart’s carry them in store.

I just bought the same tree stand and the velcro on the seat can tighten more cause mine is on tight

I just bought the same stand and I seen a guy take a screw in steps and screwed one in and hung the stand on it to hold it in place, instead of what you have to hang it

I’m 6’ 170lbs so I’m an average size dude, after about three hours of sitting in it, it just becomes miserable imo

They do have one with a way bigger platform that’s the same price but the seat is just cloth a hammock type of style seat
