Hi i am 90 kg foiling with alpha 12m once i have 11 12 kts i am able to ride but looking for something to ride when the wind is 8 kts and above. Do you think the ufo v2 11m would be the kite to go ? i am also thinking of foil kites but the are way more expensive. thanks

Slingshot has up there technology in foiling like no other you will not be disappointed in the UFOV2 better yet v3 even lighter and joy stick bar and hope craft v2 foil board use to have ozone Alpha kite and contact bar plus and there apex v1 board foil bard no more will never go back thank you slingshot making my foiling experiences more lighter way more comfortable and absolutely more responsive

Nice review as always. I'm surprised you couldn't ride in sub 10kts. I can go down to about 7kts with my UFO V1 9m on a 170 HA lift foil (1100 cm sq) for about 80kg. I was wondering how much extra low end the V2 11m would buy me. In the very light wind foiling category, I'd love to see a review of the Gin Marabou 2... 😇

Yeah I just found every time I would set up the 11m, I would swim or not get started. Hard to tell but those days the wind was 5-10 and closer to 5. Once it is solid 10th then I’m litt on the 9m so don’t really need the 11m at my size.

So what’s the wind range? I am 180lbs in south Florida

At your size in south Florida, an 8m or 9m would be your best size. You get a lot of light wind down there so having that extra juice will be desired. The wind range on the 6m ridden in this video is 12-22mph and I’m 165 lbs. In this video the wind was side off and it was 8-10 on the beach and about 16-20 on the outside.

I concur, I'm in the Bahamas and use the V1 in 9m and with my setup it's great from 7kts to +/- 15kts. Relaunch can be tricky in very light wind though, go for an 11 or 12m single strut (Ghost, Code 0 or similar) if that's an issue.

@@davidflusin5705 that’s what I am trying to figure out! I did have a single strut 11 m which blew out! I pretty much used it for twin tip as well as it worked pretty good

@@russkielol It really depends on your level of comfort and your objective. If you want to foil in sub 10kts, crash your kite more or less regularly and don't enjoy long swim backs I'd suggest the 1 struts, especially as i recently found that self rescue in very light wind (+/- 6-7kts) may also be an issue as the unsupported canopy fabric gets pulled in front of the LE and fills with water making it very hard to flip the kite in the self rescue position) You can also forget the UFO for TT. It might 'work' but won't be fun. Having said that, the UFO is glued to the sky and won't fall off unless you make a fairly big mistake or the wind just stops, if you know what you're doing you can body drag back looping it non stop down to +/- 3kts. And it is hard to beat in very light wind conditions (short of using single skins, foil kites or hybrids). I was able to limp back to shore one day where another foiler with a 15m D-Lab was swimming ...
