Actually he was better. In 2019, 2020, and the 1st half of 2021, he graded better than he did in '16. His only bad season was in '18 (worst OL in the NFL, practice squad WR's). Other then that, his worst season was fringe top 10, and his best seasons are grading top 8. Over the 2nd half of 2023, he was the #1 graded QB in the NFL, and it wasn't close. That's far and away better than he was in '16. He started this season off the same way he ended last season, as the #1 graded QB. His play only fell off once saints OL was devastated by injuries. So, is it more likely that Carr can play at an elite level when he has competent talent around him, as he's proven many times, or that he's ass, like when he has one of the worst OL's in the NFL? It's not rocket science. Give Carr a half decent team, and he will play at an elite level. It's a proven fact. It's not his fault that every team he's played for has had serious issues that would make any QB fail/struggle.

I find the Saints have no killer instinct. Im old school. I feel if you have a Defensive HC you’re D should want the opportunity to close the game out. Up 5 vs Philly 1:45 left Up 1 vs ATL 0:30 left UP 5 vs CAR 2:20 left (This is a team that won 47-10 vs Carolina in Week 1)

I feel bad for Derek Carr. He went from a chaotic loser mentality raiders team with new head coaches and offensive coordinators every 5 minutes and a revolving door of team mates to a toxic shitty old age injury prone awful coaching staff New Orleans team. Sam darnold went from being a horrible qb to a really good one when he got a chance with a winning mentality team. Derek Carrs true talent will show if he has serious players and coaches to back him up for once

Del Rio was never fired cuz of Carr, Del Rio fired Bill Musgrave in favor of Todd Downing, but because of this Carr regressed, not to mention he broke his leg a season prior. That was Del Rio’s decision which led to a 6-10 season. That’s why he got fired. Carr isn’t a HC killer, in fact if you look at his stats, one could argue that he is a future Hall of Famed. He threw 251 touchdowns so far in his career compared to 111 interceptions. Not to mention he’s rushed for 7 touchdowns as well. So 258 combined touchdowns to 111 interceptions. He’s thrown a total 65% completion rating so far. He is a good QB and with a good head coach, and weapons on offense and a decent defense. He makes a strong case for Canton. Why do you think DA wanted to come to the Raiders. Carr was a scapegoat on that McDaniels team. And you see how well that worked out for the Raiders

When Eric McCoy got hurt, the O line had to shift to new positions. There went the motion running game. Then THEY got hurt. DC didn't have time to throw. All the stacked up plays vanished after practicing all camp. Losing Rasheed really hurt the team. The ones stepping in are not ready. This is what happens sometime, and as a fan this bites!

Even if that pass was better and caught the result would’ve been the same the defender wanted to knock the only good reciver the saints had left out of the game. He has a history of doing it and probably knew that was the only chance they had Olave was already taking step when the defender came in
