You can press CTRL and click on multiple items to select them all al once. You can also press SHIFT and select two "far end" items and every item between them will be selected. Once they are all selected, you can move, increase and decrease volume, apply fade ins and fade outs to all of them at the same time! I didn't even know what the "grouping" and "ripple" did till now and never needed to use them thanks to this shortcut! Hope it helps! xDD

If you press SHIFT while dragging you bypass the Snap function in the duration of the buttonpress. I always have the Snap on and simply press the shift-button when I need smooth moving. :P Hope this will help workflow if you didn't know it already.

cool thanks . how do you get he play button in the middle? if you shrink reaper half the size of your computer screen, can you get the mixer to go along with it? in other words shrink too half the size?
@HomebrewAudioRecording3 жыл бұрын
The play button appears in the middle by default. Does yours not show up there? Also, shrinking Reaper doesn't appear to do anything to the mixer. But you can hide the mixer if you want by going to View and removing the check mark by "Mixer."

How about a song in more than 1 time signature in Reaper any hints? My song goes from 4/4 to 6/8 or 15/8 and speeds upand slows down.
@HomebrewAudioRecording5 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can do that. Set the initial settings in the project screen. Then you can create sections as the song progresses that have changes in time signature and can speed up or slow down.

I just bought reaper, I had Sony acid pro for bout 8 yrs and decided to switch over due to watching your channel so thank you. I have question tho, I have my settings that I like on a project but I notice everytime I close out the project or program my settings go back to default? how do I change that
@HomebrewAudioRecording9 жыл бұрын
+Anthony b You're welcome! So what settings are you referring to? If you've got a project with specific settings like BPM and time signature, then it should be saved with the project and will not resort to default when you open it after having closed it. If that is happening, then something is wrong. Are those the settings you mean?
@Eighty5iveProd9 жыл бұрын
+Home Brew Audio I'm referring to the snap feature. grid lines. ect... the bpm and stuff is fine. also I'm I able to transfer Sony acid projects to reaper and my isotope delays. I've been trying to transfer the .DLL files but can't find them in the plugins in reaper.
@Eighty5iveProd9 жыл бұрын
+Home Brew Audio I know I'm asking Alot of questions but I'm kinda confused with reaper lol not Alot but just enough and I know u know more then me.
@HomebrewAudioRecording9 жыл бұрын
+Anthony b Snap and gridlines are toggles. So it's just a matter of a second or two to switch them on and off. I haven't tested to see if they usually save with a project or not. I'll check it out and report back:). As for the .dlls, as long as you know what folder they are in on your computer, it's pretty easy to bring them up in Reaper. Go to Options then Preferences (at the bottom of the drop-down menu). Then in the Preferences menu, go to "Plugins" (toward the bottom) and click on VST. Just put a semicolon after whatever is the last thing in the window there and put in whatever folder your .dlls are in on your computer. Then all you have to do is hit Rescan. Then when you are ready to load the instrument or effect, just hit the FX button on a track and your plugins should now be visible. I hope that helps.
@Eighty5iveProd9 жыл бұрын
+Home Brew Audio u sayed semicolon? my DLL files I'm trying to put doesn't have a semicolon in them. or is this the only way reaper cAn find them is with that semicolon?

but i dont have the metronome icon! this shit is killing i just need a click to play to..
@HomebrewAudioRecording6 жыл бұрын
It is part of the default icon panel. But it's possible that the divider between the track section and the control panel section is too far to the left, covering up the metronome and possibly other buttons. Can you try to hover you mouse over the vertical divider to the far left of where the track section starts, but to the right of where the control panel ends, and click on that and drag that line to the right? You should be able to reveal the metronome button if that was the problem. Are you able to see the video here: screencast.com/t/9KLl4j2t ? If none of that works, I found a thread on the Reaper Forum that speaks to this problem. Try this: forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=196749
