READ BEFORE ATTEMPTING! The 1st side that I installed, nut was tight. I should of chased it 1st with a outside tap. Anti Seize is not meant to be used as lubrication like I stated. So even though it's a locknut, it shouldn't be that tight initially. A split washer is recommended too. Thanks for watching!

If your fitting a rear sway bar I’d love to see a video of that process. It’s a real pig of a job. But I’m sure you’ll make it look easy. Great vid dude. 👍🏻

Appreciate it! I do want one, but need to tackle everything else 1st 🙃 have you installed sway bars? Just doesn't line up or what's the situation with them? Did they come standard on the gti? I'm supposing I'd have to drill holes etc.

TopSecretR35 I’m just fitting front and rear son mine at the moment. Mine is 1.3 driver so didn’t come with sway bars as standard. Fronts are easy enough, I needed to buy front bar mounts for the swing arm but fairly cheap and easy bolt on fitment. Rear look like it should be easy, bolt on the rear beam then brackets clamp to the beam behind the rear wheels. But the clamps are so tight when the bush is fitted, it’s a dog to get them clamped. Good luck.

Bentley has a procedure described. In short, you turn the nut in until you can't move the inner thrust washer around (I use a small screwdriver to move it) and then what I do is turn the nut inward (if needed) just enough to line up the first set of notches in the castle nut with the hole for the cotter pin. - i pulled that from internet.
