High mount turbo with external wastgate requires more tuning but I've had good luck with it

backpressure to solve overboost will just cause you other problems. I.E. reducing the lifespan of the turbo. Just get a big external from Tial. It fixed my overboost issue and I am runnin 3 inch turbo back exhaust. Sick build though.

Look up 2jz restrictor ring. That's what jdm twin turbo 2jz use to restrict their exhaust while running a 3".

Don't put in a cat just port your waste gate and check for boost leaks! You don't need restrictions either. Check your leaks from actuator.

apex128 not putting a cat in. And no leaks anywhere, The wastegate is just to small. It would overboost with the wastegate arm pulled off and it wide open!

BuiltLikeThis mine did the same thing. Wg disconnected and still overboosting. I have the same turbo as you (isr rs3871) I don't know if your Wg is ported or not, but I had to open mine up a lot with a dremel. It was still creeping after that, but I found a boost leak and now it rarely creeps if ever at all. Maybe your situation is different, but Im just telling what mine was in case it helps you fix your creeping issue

+Casey Welty yes stock internals. And likely Somewhere around 260 but i fried my rings. Going to be rebuilding it pretty soon though!

rcmedic2014 Its an internal wastegate. I would have to weld it shut and get a new manifold and wastegate which would be ideal but I dont have the money for it right now.
