Hello Car Doctor, have you ever changed such bushings to a Avensis(2003 year model T22)?Between the rear bolt sockets in the subframe there is a pipe between rear subframe sockets(that holds the subframe in the mainframe) that is bolted to the mainframe, when i try to release the subframe it stays up cause the pipe is holding it in the mainframe, what is this pipe called?I cant find any information about it, and mine is so rusty it doesnt really do anything.I need to know this cause i need to order a new pipe or does it matter if i take it off?I can send some pictures in the email, i really dont understand whats the use of that pipe, its not full metal, its hollow in the middle.The pipe connects to the rear sockets in the subframe, its maybe a somesort of balancer etc?

No I have not sounds like somthing super fun aka complicated
@VorssaGaming3 жыл бұрын
@@RBTheMechanic Yea its totally confusing, cant find any info about it from repair manuals either, i guess i need to remove and remake it, its only a pipe with ears on both ends wich connect to the rear subframe threads+the little tag in the middle of the pipe that connects to the mainframe itself..

I had a Honda Accord which I just installed new rear springs and ended up with a creaking noise on the driver rear area. It turned out I had over tightened a few bolts back which caused the creak. I bought a new torque wrench and tightened all things back there to spec and no more noise.

My 2009 Lincoln MKZ makes a clunking noise even over a small bump at low speed. It sounds like a hollow beer keg was in the trunk; I checked. I bounced on the rear of the car and the shocks seems great and no clunking. Shoved the rear side to side and no clunking. I then opened the trunk, stood inside and jumped up and down like an ape; my wife shook her head and shut the garage door. ANYWAY, I am fairly low IQ guy with respect to car mechanics so, in the rear, I have shock absorbers, struts, sway bar linkage, and bushings??? Is this correct? Anything else that could be contributing to this issue? I related to what you were saying in the video so may I want to investigate the rear sway bar linkage/ "bushings"? I want to research each potential root cause and, if more than one, prioritize what I can before I go to some of our neighborhood auto shops and become the "fat hog" in "Deliverance". Your video was the only one I really liked so I hope I can get some feedback.

@RBTheMechanic I noticed the sound didn't happen when I originally installed it. Only after lowering it cuz I felt they were too high. Also curious because after I believed I set them all up the same height ironically the rear driver side which is the one that is making the noise is the one that is a about a inch higher then the rear driver side. Making me think something else has to be wrong. I set the preload correct. It basically sounds like if I left the trunk open and every time I hit a bump the loose trunk is banging.
