Rear Muffler and Secondary Cat Delete Golf mk7 1.8 tsi

I had the rear muffler and secondary catalytic converter removed from my Golf 1.8 tsi mk7. The resonator is still stock

Can you actually here it in the car a little or is it zero drone at all like stock? I like kinda like loud so im gonna do my secondary and resonator and leave the stock rear muffler, i wonder if that combo would be louder? Yours sounds good though!

It’s definitly louder with the rear muffler removed vs the resonator. There is a really minimal drone when driving on the highway. Someone who doesn’t know you had your muffler removed wouldn’t know it with careful driving but when you floors it it makes a nice noise.

What size pipe did you use could you possibly post a vid of u der the car ? 👍

It's the stock size(2.25 inches if I remember correctly, not sure) and it's nothing fancy under the car. The pipe just does two 90degrees turn to the exit.

Did you do the secondary cat delete after the muffler delete? If yes, did it make it noticeably louder? I’m curious because I have a muffler delete on the same car, and would like to make it even louder.

I did both at the same time so I'm not sure but I think it would make it louder. Less restriction = more sound

does the car idle roughly? and did you get a tune when yoh removed the cat

He removed the secondary cat therefore no tune needed. If ye had made a custom downpipe then maybe.

Does that cat delete makes top end even marginally better?

Butt dyno says yes but I have no data to prove it. Might free 5 to 10 hp.

The first cat and the resonator are still there. I deleted the secondary cat and the muffler.

Okay so I want to remove it for my car Golf se 2015, would the check engine go on? how is the perfomance still good?

Jefferson Muralles The check engine did not go On and there's not way the car would know that I removed the muffler. The secondary cat is after the O2 sensors so no check engine there. For the performance I doubt it makes more power. Maybe a little bit more since I also removed the secondary cat. I think I can feel the turbo spooling a bit faster and a little bit better throttle response but not a massive improvement.
