I like the idea that you used a sharpie to mark your hub placement. Thanks for the video.

I should have made a point to mention it but yes works great.

I’m still very excited to hear how you explain rear “wedge” and the affects 😊
@kart6t3_ben Жыл бұрын
Are we talking about dropping say a LR rail? Wedge in nascar terms is cross to us. Just wanna make sure I’m understanding you correctly.
@nanate8190 Жыл бұрын
@@kart6t3_ben yes. Adding or taking away rear axle hight from left to right. Also adding rear lead would be a fantastic video. Thanks Ben for all the hard work you do for the community. It’s highly appreciated.

Awesome video as always, I have a good one for you could you explain your thoughts on the rear axle heights where most manufacturers have multiple holes to adjust rear ride heights. also, my PRC's have the pills what happens when you change them. Or is that a chassis adjustment set and then left alone. Once again thanks for sharing all your great knowledge.

Moving out decreases stagger effect an easier to pick up.. closer is snspier transfer and increase stagger effect.

I have a couple of Manco go karts with live axles. For some reason the right side has a 1" longer spacer than on the left side...so the wheel sticks out more on the right. The left side includes the drive chain and brake rotor. Do you think the longer spacer in the left is to even out the torque that comes from the right? Thanks in advance!
@kart6t3_ben4 ай бұрын
That’s possible. Usually longer distances from frame rails are used for handling characteristics. Spread further less drive, but helps turn. If it was done for a torque aspect it’s hard for me to figure that out.

I think that idea is measured off the centerline of the kart to get that lever action you are talking about
@kart6t3_ben Жыл бұрын
Yes. But what reaction causes what is the question. I’m open to different theory’s.

Have you gotten a copy of oval kart technology book by frank Ashe yet?? Interesting read and does a good job discussing chassis flex theory.

I do. I’ll have to look for that, unfortunately I started to read it and got busy. 🤦♂️

Ben is gear ratio just gear ratio or is the an advantage/ disadvantage to running a small front sprocket with small back sprocket over a larger front and back?
@kart6t3_ben Жыл бұрын
There is a small change in torque when using a bigger driver. Smaller driver “spools up” quicker. In theory.

hey I was wondering if you could explain how I can figer out what axle size i would need for my kart like i whould i mesure it
@kart6t3_ben5 ай бұрын
Sorry I havnt responded. I keep forgetting to check my axle for you. I’ll take a screenshot and hopefully get back to you soon.

Driver is complaining of loose in off power. In general, what things would you do to fix that?
@kart6t3_ben Жыл бұрын
Maybe to much front weight? Loose in and off suggest to much steer. Or over all grip, also might want to try evening out you air pressures and see if it helps.
@ddeadbeat Жыл бұрын
have you ever put a 10" wheel on the left rear to increase grip?
@kart6t3_ben Жыл бұрын
I havnt. I’ve seen it done. My thoughts are that’s gotta be some pretty slick surface your dealing with if you need to go to that. It would mess with that “lever” I was talking about. Imo.

What effect does keeping the same rear track width but moving both tires left or right at the same time
@kart6t3_ben Жыл бұрын
Wow. Never have thought of that scenario. I’d have to think on that.
