Very helpful video thank you. Are you able to let me know the total distance from back of the back seat to the back of the car seat, so I can see if my car has enough space for this seat. Thank you.

You need at least 80cm of depth in the back at headrest height. That’s the minimum, the more space you can give it, the more legroom the child will have.

@@RearFacingToddlers perfect thanks so much! I’ve been trying to get this answer from various places for so long 🙈

Anyone who can compare this to BeSafe Stretch? They both are a good car seat and I'm not sure which one to get.

The strap dramatically restricts how far we can slide the front seats back for driver/passenger legroom. Anyone else encountered this?
@RearFacingToddlers3 ай бұрын
If you move the front seat all the way forward beforehand, it will usually not go as far back as you need it to afterwards. You’re supposed to put the front seat in the right position before you attach the straps and install the seat.

Is there a trick to the ASIP block? Every time my toddler touches it, it falls off. Is it supposed to lock?
@RearFacingToddlers4 ай бұрын
No, it doesn't lock. There is a little dip in the middle where it slides into place. It is quite delicate, so children are not supposed to lean on it.

Can this be put further forward on the backseat like you showed for the minikid 2 for extra leg room? Thankyou
@RearFacingToddlers4 ай бұрын
Yes, absolutely. There is a black/yellow line on the foot at the bottom and this line can be at the edge of the vehicle seat for maximum legroom.

Hello! Thanks for this video - it was very useful. I noticed that the image shown at the beginning and end of the video showed the car seat in the middle seat. How does the installation process differ in that case? I'm just thinking about a) where the tethers attach, and b) if the foot fits appropriately with that kind of hump that is in the middle seat's footwell.
@RearFacingToddlers7 ай бұрын
Hi, For a middle seat installation you just attach a tether to both front seats' inside runner rails. Car seat legs are allowed to go on the hump, but not all of them are short enough to fit. The Minikid's leg is.

Really clear installation video thank you. I've only ever had isofix seats before, but a very high height centile baby means I'm going to need a belted seat in the future so I've been thinking of this one. Definitely not put off after seeing this.

Is it possible to install 3 seats across? Can you put two tethers straps on the inner rails to install the (third) middle seat?
@RearFacingToddlers4 ай бұрын
Yes you can. It’s not possible in every car, but if the middle seat is wide enough, then definitely.

Who decides how reclined the seat should be? Age? Size? Something else?
@RearFacingToddlers4 ай бұрын
The more upright the seat, the safer it is in a crash. So I always say, install the seat as upright as possible with just enough recline to keep the child’s head up when they’re asleep.

Hi there Can you adjust the headrest without a child being in the seat? The headrest has gone to the highest position & I can’t get it to come back down 😢
@RearFacingToddlers9 ай бұрын
Yes you can. Have you loosened the harness to allow the headrest to go as far up as it can go? Making it go all the way up resets the lock and then you can push it down again. If that doesn't work the seat may need to be repaired, your retailer can arrange this for you.
@Exberlinette9 ай бұрын
When we lock the headrest for younger children, don’t we cancel the important safety feature of the harness tightening by the extension of the headrest?
@RearFacingToddlers7 ай бұрын
No, the harness should be tight enough anyway, you shouldn’t rely on the headrest to take out the slack. Locking it makes the Minikid’s harness the same as all other car seats’.
