How do you like the new workflow? To me, I have enough synth, for sidechain I use Pump RE, I have a lot of delay and reverb, got multiple stereo imager vst,love Reason but not sure if $199 cad is worth the upgrade for V13 at the moment. The only positive is the tool window layout and Alice edit mode, is it worth $200? Let me know what you think

idk about that $199 for just the full version..the subscription you get way more than you do with just the full version.. plus you get the Companion ...$19.99 a month is like buying a bag of chips everyday lol

Well, the problem is that people are very spoiled these days and think that you need a certain software or certain plugins to achieve good beats or certain sound engineering, but actually it has nothing to do with it. Actually almost all music software is the same except for the design of the visual layouts and some people can work better when something looks technical and others can work better when it looks like you have a studio with real equipment in front of you and so it's more a matter of taste but actually the software has nothing to say about how far you get and how well you can implement your ideas. Of course, every software has programmers who try to keep up with the competition and so on, but nowadays every software has so many possibilities that it would even be enough to just use Reaper to cut beats and you don't even need FL Studio if you know your way around certain basics. Of course I know that the software "Reason" is supposed to manifest a certain aesthetic for music producers and sound designers and of course every software has its own charm and personality and that is all well and good but people should finally stop chasing the illusion that they need a certain software to be able to make good music and that is what I mean with my statement and I don't want to say that this software is bad.

All I wanted for this release was native video support - still not here (sigh) but there's a VST for that anyway. I'm liking the new workflow... and the new search features are worth the price of admission for me since I use layered synths and used to spend hours cataloguing and tagging all the presets - but each to their own...

When talking about beats and or songs, Reason is backwards compatible. As long as you self contain your samples, you should be ale to open old files.

Also, if you have favorites in your browser, the folders will be empty in 13 so you might have to open reason 12 to figure out what you put in those folders.
