This will be long..grab your popcorn and a cuppa tea..Siri (secrete in swahili) is also a norwegian name for girls. But in all honesty, there is a grave need to redesign the curricullum in Kenya so that we can get this mediocrity mindset of hitting "a mid income" threshold whilst we can attain a fully industrial status in about 15 yrs from now. Given, many have attained such with less most notably, Argentina, Singapore(financial instruments), Malaysia, Mexico, Norwa, Azebaijan( oil &G), Taiwan(industry) It is easy to attain this by upgrading the refinnery or just investing in a bi directional Liquified Natural gas facility for both onloafing for local industrial use but also for export. You have many such in developed nations like Valencia in España, or Cave Point in Maryland..why not in 🇰🇪? I and a group of engineers with a Kenyan background can even design this process facility free of charge for our people. It is not all about what you can get to squeeze out of your nation, but what you can GIVE ❤Wanjiku(The people)❤ Tourism: Massively mismanaged in the most rigid ways that it's truly painful to witness the deception fed to the world by the subsequent Kenyan governments. Yes Im not harsh but just keeping it real. So back in September of 2018 the then president Uhuru Kenyatta converged a press meeting where feel-good vibe was cast to the crowds on the nations milestone in gaining 2mill visitors p.a. achieved! Cameras started burning the flashes amid laughter and congratulations weighing heavily in the air. At the very same time, a country of slightly smaller size than our in Asia, workers in the tourism industry were staging nationwide protests on their government's inadequacy in attaining a 30 million visitors per year threshold hold! Now, this is a tourism industry almost half old than Kenyas! Further, this nation only focuses on 3key items in the itinerary namely (Sun, blue beaches, and (excse my language, b*tches). Anyhoo, Kenya offers the same plus diversity of culture, terrain, vast reserves of natural habitats if wildlife, mountain ranges, deep see fishing (yes Kenyas coast has some if the largest migratory routes of the blue whale population because of rich Tuna, blue merlin, swordfish and many more. So you ask yourself, what are the Thais doing differently as opposed to Kenya? Thailands annual revenue is at about US60 billion while Kenya, with all that it has to offer gains a measly US2 billion of which, only a fraction of these proceeds trickle down to the local commonwealth! It all comes down to one single thing, FOREIGN OWNERSHIP. The huge international brands that chokehold Kenya through ownership of what is rightfully ours, dictate alot of what we see and not see. They discourage competition from local SME's through funding for "other infrastructures" as debt availability of soft loans and other financial services and instruments and management to the Kenyan government at the same time making sure the local security sector remains rigid, outdated leading to insecurity in our roads thus maintaining a monopoly of the industry. Tourists are shuttled from one facility to another and rarely get time or nerves to venture out in the general public. Yes there is a grave need to rethink the entire industry as this current one only works on paper and it sells but the nation never gains anything meaningful. We have to stop setting for less!

( full disclosure, Kenyan here) having lived and traveled in the West for eons, traveling back to the mamaland is always exciting, even more so now with the rapid change of development, that has been turbo charged by a slowly evolving maturing democracy, innovative locals, blessed with abundant natural beauty, hotbed of culture and creativity, some badass tribal warriors in full traditional outfits walking shoulders to shoulder with some University educated pin-strip suit wearing lawyers, doctors. engineers etc .......Welcome to Nairobi! Kenya has it's fair share of adventures - Go climb the highest mountain in Afrika, Mt Kilimanjaro, after your hiking experience escape to the tropical paradise known locally as the Swahili coast, relax in Diani beach white sandy beach and swim away in the warm Indian Ocean then watch the sunset whilst drinkin a Tusker beer, chill there for a few days, whilst in the Coast make sure you visit the UNESCO heritage listed town of Lamu - Lamu Town on Lamu Island is Kenya's oldest continually inhabited town, and was one of the original Swahili settlements along coastal East Africa. It is believed to have been established in 1370. This is one of my fav places in the mamaland, the Lamu state of mind transports you to another place.... Then off you go to the Maasai Mara to watch the 8th wonder of the world - 1 million plus animals migrating to the greener pastures of the Serengeti (a sight to behold) chill a bit in the Maasai Mara for a few days make sure to camp while there, the best experience eva! ( No mobile reception bring a book, diary & a pen) then get on a road trip from Mombasa to the semi-arid regions of Turkana County in the far north of the Country......long drive do your research! On the road trip, drive thru the Great Rift valley a mind bending experience ( Look it up you will luv it ) stop by one of the many hot springs on the way for a dip in Volcanic natural hot springs ( you will be super relaxed and glowing afterwards ) be prepared to see the biggest herd of Flamingos chilling in lake Nakuru a spectacular sight - then soldier on to Lake Victoria ( 2nd largest freshwater lake in the world!) camp on the lake shores, make sure to eat the local delicacy, Ugali with Sukuma wiki and fish especially Omena! (Use these descriptions when ordering at the local restaurants, the locals will luv ya!) The road trip from Mombasa to the North will journey thru the tea farms of Kenya, ( the Brits luv our tea) sugarcane plantations, fresh flowers (flown daily to Europe) pyrethrum plantations, the odd corrupt police officer, local that luv to paaarty till wee hours of the morning and a whole lot more of the place some folks call magical Kenya! For Nairobi is termed that way because its a Capital City, no other Capital in the world, I don't know I should check that has a National park in it and separated by just a fence.

Just seeing in a spiritual sense, their are places on this planet that Creator endowed his abundant blessings through his creations.Everything God created has a hidden spiritual meaning attached to it,you just have to go inside yourselves and see it clearly. I always ask myself, why GOD made it impossible for the colonizers to defeat Ethiopia, their has to be a reason.Ethiopia has some strong connection with Kenya. This has fastened peace in all EAC. Kenya being the central pillar of Peace. I personally think its people (EAC block) have some linage to the true tribes of ISRAEL. 1.Mt.Kenya-Second tallest peak in world.Has snow and located close to the planet equator. 2.Lake Victoria-Second largest Fresh water lake in the world. 3.Great RIFT Valley in the world. 4.Wild life-Country has both LAND BIG FIVE & OCEAN BIG FIVE(I guess this why God is blessing this country so much)They understand to cope with nature. 5.Most loving and humble population on the planet. 6.Second largest producers of tea in the world. The list is endless as I keep learning and researching about this country. I personally think theirs something spiritual about this country happening. Its people are so friendly and welcoming towards her AFRICAN sister countries and the world at large. Its said its the cradle of human civilization by archaeologists. Most astounding is that this country doesn't have much of natural resources compared to other powerful African countries, its said their major resource is its people...how amazing is that. Am Nigerian, married to a Kenyan.Do not doubt it when I agree with Ashley,KENYA is indeed the Capital of AFRICA.I LOVE KENYA.

I can Support that with Nairobi, for several reasons. The most amazing transition from my first visit 1998 until 2003 when I came and stayed for 8 good years showed, what education, entrepreneurship and courage can do. I think Nairobi has one of the best educated workforce I have seen...plus the workethics are excellent especially among young degree holders. Of course Nairobi has become a super town in Africa but it is and will be because of the Kenyan people and a lot of foreigners that have gone into real partnerships. When you live in Kenya u will meet business people and professionals that work under global standards and thats the best foundation for a bright future!

More Reasons Kenya is considered the Capital of Africa!: Economic Hub: Kenya is the economic hub of East Africa, with a strong and diverse economy that includes agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, and technology. This makes it an important center of trade and commerce in the region. Political Stability: Kenya is considered one of the most politically stable countries in Africa, with a long history of democratic governance. This has attracted many foreign investors and businesses to the country. Cultural Diversity: Kenya is home to a rich and diverse culture, with more than 50 different ethnic groups living within its borders. This cultural diversity is reflected in the country's food, music, dance, and art. Natural Beauty: Kenya is home to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Africa, including the Masai Mara National Reserve, home to the famous wildebeest migration, and the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. Infrastructure: Kenya has a well-developed infrastructure, with modern roads, airports, and telecommunications networks. This makes it easier to travel within the country and connect with the rest of the world.
