Very nice video Gareth! I visited Kazanlak for one night/day in March when it was very cold. So I didn’t see any roses, but I did visit the historical museum and art museum which was well worth the visit!! Very nice town to walk around in too. I stayed in a brand new Airbnb apartment in the center of town. I’m looking forward to going back in nicer weather, especially for the rose festival!

Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed it. Though it can be visited anytime of the year for sure the best time is Spring/Summer

I lived in Stara Zagora and visited Bouzludzha many times. They pronounce it BOOZ-la-ja. 🌻

👍👍👍👍😎Agree whole heartily Kazanluk & Shipka should be visited together. I’ve yet to ride the bike up to Bouzludzha or even visit and I have stayed in Shipka for a short time. There is a eco permaculture training school there well with a visit.

Tour in Arsenal factories :-) If I'm not wrong it's a biggest factory out side of China and Russia producing USSR/Russian type small arms and munitions. They must have something like museum/visitors area.

The Bouzludzha monument is in shackles, sadly. Government does nothing to preserve this amazing architectural monument! It doesn't matter what our opinion on communism is, the fact is Bouzludzha is an amazing piece of architecture with incredible art inside and should be preserved. Guys, there's a charity called "You are the key. Open Bouzludzha" They organise events near Bouzludzha and all the money goes for the restoration for the monument. They also collect donations, so if you can, please donate!

There is a website www.buzludzha-project.com/festival According to they will reopen it in the middle of August

@@ATasteofBulgaria Thank you for replying with the link for the website. The festival will be in August. I recommend anyone looking for a little summer joy to go. Music, interactive games, food, history learning...and you get to help preserve the monument! Sadly, it's not in the cards for me this year : ' ) but i have attended past years and it has always filled me with a sense of carelessness and a strange melancholic joy. It's a summer celebration, really. Whoever gets the chance should attend
