Not all of it because these people do lose large amounts of weight and ruin their bodies so I believe some of it is real but many things are obviously fake. That is just my opinion on it.

Not always but usually yes a drunk snake or some other animal roles into camp on day 19 or 20 but they don’t always get it. Sometimes it gets away. Nothing is provided to them free of charge. They have to survive. It’s as real as any tv show can be. I believe. The struggle is real the hunger is real. The weather is real. One episode their shelter was hit by lightning. That was very real. But they need certain shots for their show. So I can make allowances for that and still enjoy the show.

Its pretty real. There is a crew to make sure things do not get too out of hand. I have a producer friend on it and its not an easy producing job and there are many factors that go into it while trying to keep things as entertaining. Entertainment will always have some sort of pre planned aspect to it.

I've noticed that, and they miraculously regain their energy. I've also always wondered, "What if on day 21 they simply don't make it to extraction." And I've also thought that, if they were smart, they would just set up their 21 day camp half a mile from extraction or even break their extraction up into multiple days. But of course that wouldn't be as dramatic, would it? I've also seen episodes where they would walk miles to better resources, I was like, "Why not just set up camp there?" So obvious the producers are manipulating certain scenarios for more drama

Half the claims in this clip were from one person, Bowen. She acted like a spoiled child, and treated her partner so badly they split up. She whined the entire time. I believe 90% of what she said was a lie to distract from how she acted. She's a truly toxic personality.

I always wondered how on some of the episodes, these survivalist with ratings of under 5 suddenly know how to find a plant or bark or some berries that they can use for food and find it. Hollywood alteres even historical facts in "Historical" movies it is expected that these kinds of shows have some sort of script. For instance, many of them appear to be quite useless to the team till he/she makes something that redeems her/him at the end of the show or "losing" indispensable tools that put their team in danger, or a source of food that appears all of the sudden at the very last moment.

The real surprise would be that anyone believes that this stale baloney is real in the first place. Most television producers had ran out of substantive ideas a long time ago. I'm not gullible enough to ever believe that any "reality" show is real.... but it's still very annoying when they make mistakes and you can clearly tell things aren't right! I'm watching season 8 of the XL and it just bothered me when Jeff showed up to join with a group and the door of their shelter was clearly weaved... then suddenly it wasn't... then later they showed the girls creating a new "weaved" door since Jeff messed up the door when he got sick. How didn't they see that? Dumb but annoying

In other words: reality shows simply do not exist. Everything is planned in advance in the office, just like at Bear Grylls. But I could see it clearly there too. When there was a real food shortage, there were suddenly hand-tamed pigs on the beach. LOL

And they overexagerate terribly. Just heard the voice over state that leopards weigh up to 400 lbs....did my research...most only weigh up to 165 lbs with some males weighing up to 205. Record largest was 315 of one captive male. Sources: world wildlife fund and national geographic. Come on producers of this show, this isn't the first time. (My wife likes this show, gets annoyed at me because I point out alot of this)

I feel that such shows play up the "sexy women in peril" angle to get male viewers interested. In a real survival situation the women will drop any pretense of looking cute and they will very quickly become dirty and hairy and most likely dead like any people in a wilderness abandonment situation.

In real life survival/wilderness starvation situations, women actually do a bit better, such as in the Donner party disaster. Women do better in endurance contests (like life, with women living 5-10 years longer on average) or may have a bit more fat stored, which is an advantage. And yeah, the show definitely played to the “hot girl needs help” trope, like the women in zombie movies who can’t run more than a few feet without tripping on a tree branch, then laying there waiting for the monster/zombie to catch up.

I use to talk to a woman that was on the show and she told me it's all a set up and her partner couldn't kill a worm let alone the rabbit it showed he killed but they gave it to him so he'd stay after removing her because the guy acted like a sissy and complained. Lol

Of course they know where they're going ahead of time. Some countries require visas and certain vaccinations. But yeah, the one thing I always laugh at, especially when their partner taps is when they talk about how mentally tough and scary it is to be alone. Like they aren't alone. They have an entire production crew with them, and even if they aren't directly socializing with them, they're still talking to the camera😂 I guess the only time they're actually alone is at night, and I guess they aren't allowed to leave their shelter. And I always felt it was cheating that they get medically treated, especially with medicine and bandades and are allowed to continue. If it's a primative survival challenge, they should treat themselves with medicines that nature provides😂 It's a little difficult to take this show seriously sometimes.

But that doesn’t mean all “media” is bad or ha# spin, Some media lies like FoxNews many fake or misleading stories, like the “veterans thrown out of hotel for immigrants” lie that even Fox had to run a retraction saying there was zero evidence it ever hapoened, but there are real facts underneath. must be fun being so ignorant and think that dropping 2 naked ppl in the violent jungle is a "fun survival challange" thinking they will let 2 random naked\ unarmed ppl in the desert / jungle sorrounded by predators without sharp shooters to keep them safe from all the kinds of violent animals / predators is just being knowingly ignorant (the crew and medics live in a tent close by to the contestants) and that is only what we are shown the risk of losing a life in this reality show is WAYYYY bigger then the shame of it not being 100% legit.....and it makes sense it is still fun to watch and a hard enough challange without faking the risk to their lives with cheap tricks and on camera lies.
