Thank you for showing how to do this! The Stretch Clip to Tempo feature will make remixing existing songs or creating mash-ups of two different songs so much easier!

absolutly great. thanks for the tutorial. Ive seen the fade-in function. I also will try to use the ALT key on Windows Record audio file to stretch it next time. Great.

@WanderingWallaby Yes, but imagine if you had a loop that didn't fit correctly into the bar measures, you could fix that using this technique and then export the loop for rex file conversion. This is a great new feature long overdue.

Great vid - as usual - but I still see myself using ReCycle to get the clips I want rather than the new features.

I'm having a really bad problem with a remix i'm doing, i imported one file and copied and pasted different samples of it, but each sample takes up the same memory as the whole original song (60mb) and it has taken over 20 GBs of my hard drive. I don't want to delete it, is there anyway I can delete the excess stuff in the audio clips I don't need? Even when I cut it it still has the whole original song saved in the shortened samples, there must be a few hundred of them.

NVM just got to that part of the tutorial, that was the most important thing about audio editing, now its taking a lifetime for reason to render these clips.

what i don't understand is, they took something so great like this, and only put it in record. audio stretching is a great tool for hip hop production. why limit reason 5. is it just for sales for record? -NewRo

remember audio clips only exist in record and not in reason ... I don't get what that means . can anyone explain .

Hey Pete! That's an old video. Reason as you know it used to be two different programs called Reason (the synths and drum machines) and Record (the mixing and audio recording), which functioned together. And if that sounds confusing, that's because IT WAS! :) Which is why we combined it all into just Reason in version 6. /ryan

Record should have a BPM counter for each sequencer track in the same place as the tuner and level monitor
