Hey bud! Really interesting video (your link came through on the Reason Companion app so the ad works haha :) ) You really got me going through soundscaping in this video (I use reason normally for standard audio recording) but the shape development you have brought forward with some of these rack units are really cool! Cheers!

This guy is a true Reason user. Really, the stock synths and samplers are the best. I actually had more fun making beats on Reason from version 2.5 to 6.0 because things were simpler back then. I still make music, but I miss the old days.

Sometimes it's surprising that all the new possibilities do not necessarily lead to better tracks. I took a 25 years old track of mine and tried to build it up with all the new REs and VSTs I own. But more than once I found myself choosing an old SoundFont sample or even an ID-8 preset because it sits better in the mix than all that reality modeled stuff.
@HOLLASOUNDS Жыл бұрын
Very true but I'm not actually surprised, I used Reason 4 from 2007 to 2021, I was perfectly proficient and most Reason users who heard My music, probably Including Ryan, assumed it was a recent version I used. I'll be honest however being from Reason 4 for so long I haven't really addapted to Reasons new Mixer, and still do all My mastering with the MClass devices. I dont use Reasons EQ visualisation tool, I dont use Blocks, I dont use Regroove, and I hardly use alot of the newer REs I have bought. The devices I buy I'll use about 3 times and then just go back to using something from 4 like Melstrum or Thor. I thought buying loads of REs and sound packs would make My music sound different it did not, it's fun to mess with new stuff but sometimes probably best to just stick to what you know.
@benjaminschultz650110 ай бұрын
@@HOLLASOUNDS I personally love that approach. It's satisfying to nail a technique right away because you know your tools so well. And if you want to go even further, there are more REs in the store if you desire. If not, that's totally cool too because there are many right answers when it comes to music. :)
@HOLLASOUNDS9 ай бұрын
@@benjaminschultz6501 I have bought REs however I have to force My self to use them just because I bought them and want to justify buying them. Not aa good thing but same for VSTs so I hqve basically stopped buying stuff, because I think having to much is a problem, sometimes less is more.

Bean using Reason since early 2006 and I can say that I dont really go very far into sound design on individual devices, I just build Combinators full of mostly tweaked presets. Favourite and most used device used for sound are the ReDrum, Melstrum, NN19, and NNXT. These are in about 80% of all the music I have ever made, however I am using more Monotone, Mimic and Objekt more and more, as time goes on.

Great video and I have myself been on reason since VER 1... Re Birth before that...arrghh god I'm old.... Ive no where near as advanced as some users as my usage has been somewhat sporadic over the years. But similar to yourself, I always seem to drop back to the Older modules, ie ReDrum or MURDER as stated by someone on here and also the NN19 (Paul Hardcastle) ? they are just so familiar and I tend to end up getting what I wanted quicker. Great video though and again gives me ideas to go and tinker with.

NN19 Big strings is still My go to for strings, put 3 in a Combinator each pitched different, with some reverb just sound perfect for Hiphop or RnB, try it.

Hey Adam! Covid was an awful time for all of us, but you made it bearable with your twitch live streams putting full songs down in reason on the fly. I learned more that year about putting elements together than at any time before! Any chance you could get back around to doing those kind of streams again?
@adfielding Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words, I'm really glad I was able to do something good during an otherwise crappy time! I'd LOVE to get into streaming again - a lot has changed since then, and I almost certainly wouldn't be able to do anything as regular as 2020 again due to other commitments, but I really enjoyed doing them. Doubt I'll be doing any more any time soon, but never say never ;)

I couldn't pick my favorite. I love them ALL!!! I tried an experiment and attempted to replicate Subtractor's default Bass Guitar patch in Pigments. Even though they have similar signal flows with the FM Cross Mods, Subtractor sounded bigger and warmer. Also, the vast landscape of the synths❤❤❤ i always think of Reason's synth as one big synth with different modules

Allow me to press tab here and flip it to what I stopped using whenever I begin a new project. I stopped using drums to start with. Now it's synth and samples and textures only and then, afterwards the rhythm. It's amazing how different things become when you let synth dictate where the song is going to.

@marcom. Жыл бұрын
Give yourself a jolt and read the manual. But you have to pull one or the other virtual cable in Reason, that's for sure. And you need an audio interface with enough channels.

@@marcom.I have 12 Analog out on my Interface,but I want to know how to setup it in main page,without manually rout virtual cables in back rack,how to directly change my outputs in main page
@Warunicorn Жыл бұрын
@@alborzmousapour3446 In its most basic form, assuming you have your drivers for your audio interface installed and running correctly: Go to Edit > Preferences > Audio in Reason. Ensure that the desired outputs and inputs are enabled for your interface. Once that's done, go to the top left of the Rack window. Press "TAB" on your keyboard. Route what you desire here. (e.g., Route the output of, say, Europa, to Audio Output 3 and 4 on the Audio I/O. The sound should go out from Reason to your audio interface, and then from your audio interface to whatever your using for monitoring the sound with.)
