Good ones (almost always the ones where Donald Hoffman pauses for thinking a bit deeper and expressing it): 22:12 38:30 :) comparing with the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey 42:20 45:20 46:10-57:15 on the link with decorated permutations and helicities, and on the new discoveries during the past 4 weeks, fascinating 57:19 59:40 01:03:03 based on what I've learnt from the theories of scientists like Donald Hoffman and Nima Arkani-Hamed, it looks like there is objective (true) reality, and it looks like ITP and Amplituhedron get a lot, markedly closer to that true reality than any other theories which are fundamentally based on spacetime. And more (I still keep updating these timecodes)
@GiedriusMisiukas2 жыл бұрын
01:03:03 [and, BTW based on what I've learnt from the theories of scientists like Donald Hoffman and Nima Arkani-Hamed, it looks like there *is* objective (true) reality, and it looks like ITP and Amplituhedron get a lot, markedly closer *modeling* that true reality than any other theories which are fundamentally based on spacetime.] 1:07:40 on consciousness as love 1:10:20 (!) 1:12:00 1:14:45 1:15:34 1:17:39, and 1:20:49 (!) 1:24:30 1:26:25 xD 1:29:00 (!) 1:31:00 1:35:05 (!) 1:35:50 1:37:00 1:38:20 [he said "my brain can't come up with…" and "step outside the brain" xD Gotcha! XD Damn, please don't regress to physicalism like that. J/k; seriously though, one should better use the word "mind" more often than "brain", especially in these kinds of cases. ;)] 1:43:20 1:43:37, and 1:44:15, 1:45:35 1:47:26 1:49:44 on silence (!), and on "obsessive thinking" 1:53:50 you know immediately it's an imposter. yeah, among us. (-: 1:55:16 2:00:15 [ I was not able to append/edit my original comment since it got pinned before I finished watching video and writing these notes xD But no problem, I can also finish it here in my reply. :) Many thanks for pinning my comment, Jitender, anyway. And thanks for bringing Donald Hoffman for an interview again. :) I could listen to the news about the discoveries that are being made by him and Nima with their teams, every single day. Would love to get in closer contact with their research process, and maybe help them. ]

@1:29:15 its important to stress the other side of it as well. If reason is complete, it must be inconsistent. But we can see from the mathematics that it is telling us that, so from outside , human reason is both completely consistent and complete, just not formally provable. This is a central point of the theorem and why Godel concludes the human mind can solve all problems. This was an excellent video and the direction we need to take in science and society as a whole. A scientific interpretation of ethics and human meaning. If we do not do this materialism and competition will destroy the human race, probably within the century.

Regardless of what any individual may think about the environment they are trying to create with a decision, the 'correct' environment to strive for is an ideal learning environment.
