I Tried To Beat MHS2 By Completing The MonstieDex

Today I’ll be doing the Professor Oak Challenge in Monster Hunter Stories 2. At this point a well known challenge that originated when @Johnstone (Shoutouts to him for pioneering the idea) made videos about it. I'm doing it differently here because of how Stories 2 works. Also Shoutout to @NoobNerd9 for the idea to use Aptonoths on the Gammoth early.
Challenge Rules:
1. Must obtain any possible Monsties and beat any monster before the next chapter

My favorite thing about this is i done the same thing when the game came out, but outside of beating every monster and getting every egg in a area before moving on, i also crafted every armor and weapon and max level them before moving on, spent 2 days in each zone, but didnt take me that long, finish the main story in around 119hours doing all of this. x'D As for the royal annoying Gammoth fight, after 3 trys i was able to do it with my lv34 Rathian, mounted when i knew it was about to do its nuke and just focus on restoring hearts to my battle buddy/their monstie during that bit since worst gammoth could do to me was knock me off but not kill me, then 28turns later gammoth drops and retreated the fight after my first clear with it.

A cool video idea: Every time you die you can no longer use the weapon you used for said hunt. after you have no weapons left or you beat the final boss the challenge ends

ive only played rise and world and even tho i knew there were previous games and what not i was completely unprepared for a turn based pokemon style monster hunter thats crazy

I’m doing a nuzlocke of this, I can only get one monstie of each type (Speed,Power, Tech) each chapter. It’s been challenging but fun. I got lucky and got my favorite monstie (Paolomu) for my Tech type in chapter 2

I found some barrel Cats in the Garden when I was preparing for the nergy fight, they sometimes don’t spawn you just gotta leave the area over and over and see if they are in the spots they spawn at

in my first playthrough of the game i found a barrel felyne after ratha being able to fly on hakolo and when i got to terga near an everden and one on my way to the fight with ratha

I have an idea a Weapon and Amor dex before any urgent quest you have to make all the Armors and Weapons available(including weapon upgrades) you can choose if you want to do the event quest village and hub quest are enough.

I love how at 9:23 you like walked pass the barrel cat. But they are hard to kill. You only do 1 damage maybe 2 of your lucky and they just run after like one turn. The first game barrel cats where easy.

Do a playthrough doing the MHR randomizer for rise if you go back to it Rules 1) beat the quests in order in single story and multiple solo with your pets 2) the randomizer pickers your weopon for you for the next quest (continue the random weopon for each hunt) 3) if you lose a quest you use the randomizer and whatever weopon it is you lose forever 4) you continue the steps ahead until you either beat the game or you lose all your weapons
