Lyrics:
Centipede
Centipede
Your love
Is like a ragin' fire, oh
You're a snake that's on the loose
The strike is your desire
But when the centipede is hot
You're bound to feel the fire, huh
And when the centipede is hot
You're bound to feel the fire
I feel, oh, yeah
A longin' for your touch
Like you crawled into the bathroom window
To give him all your love, ho
Like a centipede that's hot
The fire is in your touch
Just like a centipede you've got
A lot of lovin' to touch
Don't you know in the quiet of the night
Is when the snake is in the crawlin'
And the moon starts to glow then disappear
When the time is really right
Is when the centipede is crawlin'
You'll be crying in the night so many tears
And you're crawlin' like a centipede
Centipede
You came, oh
To strike him with your touch
Like you crawled into the bathroom window
To bite him with your love
Like a centipede that's hot
The fire is in your touch
Just like a centipede you've got
A lot of lovin' to touch
Don't you know in the quiet of the night
Is when the snake is in the crawlin'
And the moon starts to glow then disappear
When the time is really right
Is when the centipede is crawlin'
You'll be crying in the night so many tears
And you're crawlin' like a centipede

Odd Factoid. My father designed this house. It was at the top of Beverly Hills next door to Frank Sinatra and just above Linda Evans' house. As 12yr old kid, I helped paint every one of of those stair railings, ran through every room a million times getting guys their tools and letting everyone know the lunch truck was there. Ms. Jackson came to shoot the video after we had turned the house back over to the owners. It was very exciting. The large marble box the Tiger jumps on -- A marble and brass inlaid TV cabinet. A big old fashioned 80's TV inside it facing the seating area :)

@BigDapPacino 6 ай бұрын
It was better for PR reasons to say MJ was solely responsible ...John Barnes was a member of Quincy Jones inner circle and I'm sure that Q was sitting behind the boards at one point because the background vocal arrangements and musical style sounds like what you heard on James Ingram and Patti Austin songs from that time period...not just MJ , this was probably a song that MJ had might have thought about putting on Thriller but he already had enough material!

You better thank Joe Jackson for that, or he might grab his belt! Most of them weren't into it. Joe forced them into it so he could live out his failed career vicariously through them. None of them had any real money when they left home. All the money they earned as kids stayed with Joe and they had to start all over again. When a parent forces you to call him by his first name only, to prevent being acknowledged as a father; just saying, there's a high chance that there's gonna be some emotional and possibly physical scarring in that/those kid's/kids' childhood.

We can say what we want about joseph but he wasn't going for NONE of his kids being addicted to NOTHING, not while they were young anyway when they grew up is when things kinda unraveled but the debarge's heck i think their father was the REASON they began to use drugs in the first place! They didn't have a strong presence like joseph to steer them away from that part of the business! Yeah they had jermaine jackson but shoot jermaine couldn't look out for them like that cause they weren't his kids! That's my opinion on it cause ALL the debarge's were equally as talented!

That is so true, because the bigger you want to get in the business, especially these days, the more the industry devils want to control you. I think they got the best of MJ because he was a huge star. They wanted to make Janet over, and she did have her nose done twice, but she fought with them for decades and would put out an album tour and then go back into hiding for 3 years at a time. She said she suffered from depression for many year, but her youthfulness stayed intact because she stayed out of the whole Hollywood scene. They wanted her to be this sex vixen, but she did more of the demure sexiness, with her clothes on, showing a little top boob and her abs. They couldn't take that she would not go further sexually but her sexiness shown through without having to be naked. In the industry you become a puppet if you're weak, and Janet wasn't weak and that's why they went after her with the whole Superbowl fiasco to ruin her because she refused to bow down to them. God Bless that family and I'm so happy Rebbie did this song, one her biggest hit.

I am so glad people are finally realizing that the powerhouse vocals, starting at 3:35 minutes is the one and only Ms. Martha Wash. Her voice is unmistakable. I am always surprise by people, especially radio DJs, who do not know this bit of information; it's old news. When I hear radio DJs praising Rebbie for her vocal prowess, I"m like smdh, with a smirk. Martha Wash always singing and providing support for other artists and never getting any credit. Remember what happened to her with Black Box, and C & C Music Factory. The record company had us believing that some black girl from Italy, who couldn't speak English was the voice to all those hits from Black Box, in the early 90s, singing in perfect English, or Zelma Davis was the lead singer for "Everybody Dance Now" by C & C Music Factory. Martha sued, truth came out, and won. A year later she came out with her own album, with another hit song "Carry On"... Just a teeny tiny bit of history for those who didn't know.
